Spike/Butch was a short-lived animation cartoon series by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The title character was also a recurring antagonist in the Droopy shorts. His name was changed to Butch to avoid confusion with Spike from the Tom and Jerry cartoons. All of the original, 1940s-50s shorts were directed by Tex Avery.
Spike (formerly and popularly known as Spike TV) is an American basic cable and satellite television channel that is owned by Viacom Music and Entertainment Group, a unit of the Viacom Media Networks division of Viacom. Spike is a general entertainment channel featuring a mix of various programs and movies.
Spike's programming reaches approximately 98.7 million pay television subscribers in the United States as well as Canada. As of 2006, Spike's viewers were almost half women (45%), although many of them are reported to be watching it with male partners or family members, or were watching the CSI franchise. The average age of the channel's viewers was 42 years old.
As of February 2015, approximately 93.4 million households in the U.S. (80% of those with television) receive Spike.
Spike was launched on March 7, 1983 as The Nashville Network, a country living and country music-themed television channel that originally operated as a joint venture of WSM, Inc. (a subsidiary of National Life and Accident Insurance Company) and Group W Satellite Communications. TNN operated from the now-defunct Opryland USA theme park near Nashville, Tennessee. Country Music Television (CMT), founded by Glenn D. Daniels, beat TNN's launch by two days, robbing them of the claim of the "first country music cable television network." TNN's flagship shows included Nashville Now, The Statler Brothers Show, American Sports Cavalcade and Grand Ole Opry Live. Nashville Now and the Grand Ole Opry were broadcast live from Opryland USA.

Plot: At Dream Castle, the Little Ponies are preparing a festival to celebrate the first day of Spring. From the Volcano of Gloom, the evil witch Hydia watches the event via her cauldron and, disgusted by the frivolity, tells her daughters that they must ruin it. Hydia's daughters, Draggle and Reeka, are inexperienced at causing mischief and fail utterly at ruining the festival. They return to the Volcano of Gloom in disgrace, where Witch Hydia presents a better plan - they'll make Smooze. The sisters collect a series of disgusting ingredients, but neglect to obtain the Phlume, the prospect of which terrifies them. The spell seems to work regardless, creating a pool of sentient purple lava that gleefully buries Ponyland.

Genres: Comedy, Drama, Short,Hey this Brandon but my friends call me Spike now.
I just moved out my parents' house in Danville
to this wicked warehouse in Oakland.
Anyway I spent most of the day spare-changing on the avenue.
I started out infront of the Med
but everyone kept saying I looked too young and healthy
so I went up the street to the Gap where all the
yuppie college kids shop
I was there until about 5:30 or 6
I scored about 10 bucks
so me and my girlfriend, you met her, she's from La Jolla
anyway, we got some money from her parents
so we're gonna stop by because
I need a fix
What's that?
Now's not a good time?
What do you mean there's none left?
Well what the fuck dude?
If I would have known that I would have gone to Concord.
What do you mean go back to Concord then?
Dude you don't even know who you're talking to.
Don't make me get all blackhawk on your ass.
wait man I didn't mean that.
C'mon dude, please?
Alright man.
wait wait wait wait
Do you know anyone that's got any?
Do you got a number?
What do you mean you won't give it to me?
I didn't call for a shitty conversation,
I called because
I need a fix
Man I got it rough
when drinking cough syrup
just ain't enough
On and on
I'm a teenage rebel
I'm fucking bored
Mom, this is Spi, I mean Brandon.
I got kicked out of my place in Oakland.
I don't really have any place to go so
I was just wondering if I could stay with you or Grandma or something?
I don't know.
My girlfriend dumped me she moved back to La Jolla, it's kind of a drag.
I guess she's gonna go back to school or something.
Anyway call me back.
Oh, one more thing Mom,
I was wondering if I could borrow $200 because
I need a fix
I'm a teenage rebel
