Andy Anderson (aka Andy James, born Neville Anderson, 18 July 1947 in Naenae, Lower Hutt (near Wellington), New Zealand) is a musician and actor. As a musician he is best known as the lead singer of 1960s Australian band The Missing Links, and as an actor he is well known for his roles on both Australian and New Zealand television.
Before moving into acting, Anderson performed in several well-known Australian rock bands of the 1960s. In 1965 he joined the second lineup of famed Sydney garage punk group The Missing Links as lead vocalist, and he performed on the group's only album. After the demise of the Links, he relocated to Melbourne and joined another radical punk-R&B outfit, Running Jumping Standing Still, which also included lead guitarist Doug Ford, who subsequently joined The Masters Apprentices. Anderson was well-known for his outrageous stage performances but his wild lifestyle at the time took a heavy toll and in late 1966 he was hospitalised after suffering a brain hemorrage onstage at Melbourne's Thumpin' Tum discotheque. After his recovery, Anderson formed two shortlived Melbourne bands, Andy James Asylum, followed by Mother Superior, before moving back to Sydney, where he joined he joined the cast of the Australian production of Hair for a short time during 1970. This was followed by an 18-month stint with Sydney club band Southern Comfort, with co-vocalist Bobbi Marchini.

They return to the coffee counter where they met and, later, their actions and conversations in the hotel where they register in separate rooms arouses the suspicions of the hotel clerk and the old, ubiquitous wartime "bellboy" who set themselves up as Janie's guardian. Janie and Andy go to the license bureau and even go to the same minister, with his wife as the repeat witness, and get married again. While dining out, Janie becomes ill and they jest that Andy must have tried to poison her. The clerk and the bellboy overhear this and telephone Mr. Smith to come save his daughter, and he arrives with the military police only to find Andy smothering her with a pillow, and doesn't buy the explanation he was trying to cure her hiccups. Mr. Smith has him committed to a hospital. Janie explains everything to her father and they rush to the hospital to find that Andy has been discharged, and they have no idea where he has gone.
