Dayle Haddon (born May 26, 1948) is a Canadian model and actress, presently known for promoting anti-aging products manufactured by L'Oréal.^[1] Additionally, she is credited as author of Ageless Beauty: A Woman's Guide to Lifelong Beauty and Well-Being.^[2] During the earlier part of her career as a model, Haddon appeared on the covers of many top fashion and beauty magazines, as well as the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Haddon also served as a wellness contributor to CBS News where she appeared regularly on The CBS Early Show from 2005 to 2008.^[3]

She is the mother of Ryan Haddon.^[4]

Biography[link]

Haddon was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where she was also raised. She speaks both English and French. As a child, she was enrolled in dancing classes to develop her physique, and she performed well enough to become a member of Les Grandes Ballets Canadiennes at 13. She was chosen Miss Montreal at 18.

As a model in the 1970s and 80s she represented Max Factor, Revlon, Estée Lauder, L'Oréal. She appeared on the cover of the 1973 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and was twice named to Harper's Bazaar's "Ten Most Beautiful Women." She also appeared nude in the April 1973 issue of Playboy.

She worked as an actress, appearing in the Disney movie The World's Greatest Athlete (1973). She moved to Europe, continued modeling and acting, and appeared in a number of film roles in French and English,^[5] as well as occasional small parts in American movies. Her best known roles were in Madame Claude (1977), and North Dallas Forty (1979) opposite actor Nick Nolte.

During Haddon's tenure as a main face for L'Oréal, sales for the Age Perfect line have increased by 50%.^[6] According to the New York Times, Dayle has "shattered age taboos" with her multi-year contracts with L'Oréal and Estée Lauder, among other companies.^[7]

Haddon's companion died suddenly in 1986, leaving her with little money and a 15-year-old daughter to raise alone. No longer able to afford to live in her house in New York City, she eventually found a position in a small advertising agency in Los Angeles, though her earnings were poor.

Clairol selected her as a spokesperson, and she later broke barriers for women over the age of 35 when she became the global face of a new anti-aging line for Estée Lauder, a first in the beauty industry. On the day that her Estée Lauder contract expired L'Oréal signed her. She now has her own company, Dayle Haddon Concepts Inc. In early 2008 she was named a UNICEF ambassador.^[8]

Massimo Ranieri (born in Naples Giovanni Calone, May 3, 1951), is an Italian pop singer, film and stage actor.

He was born in Naples (at Santa Lucia), the fifth of eight children in the family. When he was 10, young Giovanni would sing at restaurants, wedding receptions, etc. He was discovered by a music producer about 4 years later and was flown to New York to record an EP under the name of Gianni Rock.

He recorded 4 songs in 1964: Tanti auguri signora, Se mi aspetti stasera, Non chiudere la porta, and La Prima Volta. None of the records were successful, because young Gianni's voice was changing. Two years later, he would later re-emerge under his new stage name, Massimo Ranieri. In 1966, he made his TV debut singing "Bene Mio". A year later, he made another TV appearance singing, "Pietà per chi ti ama". In 1968, he recorded 2 more songs: "Da Bambino", Ma L'amore cos'è" and "Preghiera". But it wasn't until 1969, when he really became successful and became a teen idol making all the young girls scream for him, when he sang "O Sole Mio" on live TV. Soon, in most every TV appearance he made, you could hear the girls screaming in the background. That same year, he had a string of hits: "Rita", "Se bruciasse la citta", "Quando l'amore diventa poesia", "Il mio amore resta sempre", "Rose rosse" and "Zingara". In 1970, "Vent'anni", "Sogno d'amore", "Sei l'amore mio", "Aranjuez Amore Mio", "Candida". During that year, Massimo decided to venture into acting.

His screen debut, Metello received rave reviews from critics, and won Massimo the David DiDonatello award for best actor for portraying the title character. He co-starred with Anna Magnani in La Sciantosa, later that year. In 1971, "Adagio Veneziano", "Via del Conservatorio", "Io e Te". He represented Italy in the 1971 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, Ireland, where he placed 5th with the song, "L'Amore E' Un Attimo. " That same year he had fathered a daughter, Cristiana, out of wedlock with Franca Sebastiani. He didn't want to have anything to do with her, saying that he was too young and inexperienced, and that it was damage to his career. He didn't have any contact with her until she was about 20. In 1972, "Ti Ruberei", "O Surdato 'nnamurato", "Erba di Casa Mia". In 1973, "Amo Ancora Lei". He returned to the Eurovision Song Contest that year in Luxembourg to represent Italy with "Chi sarà con te", where he placed 13th. And in 1974, "Te Voglio Bene Assaie", "Immagina", "Per Una Donna". During that year, he filmed Salvo D'Acquisto, where he portrayed a Carabinieri policeman who was executed by the Nazis during World War II.

When his singing career started to decline in 1975, Massimo took a 13-year hiatus to focus on his acting career. But, in 1988, he made a comeback with the song, "Perdere L'Amore", which won him the Sanremo Festival that year. In 1997, he made another comeback with "Ti parlerò d'amore". During that year, he performed in the stage play, La Liola, where he played the title character. That same year, he did the Italian voiceover for Quasimodo in Disney's "Hunchback of Notre Dame", where he also sang Quasimodo's part as well. On 16 October 2002, Massimo Ranieri was nominated Goodwill Ambassador of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).^[1] In 2004, he made his first French movie, a trilogy series called Les Parisiens, where he played a street artist. At the start of 2007, he decided to publicly acknowledge his long-lost daughter and finally embraced her for the first time on live TV. It was a tearful reunion between father and daughter. During that year, he was in a docu-film called Civico 0, where he played Guilano, a fruit vendor, who becomes homeless after the death of his mother. In 2008, he filmed his latest movie, L'Ultimo Pulcinella. His latest stage play, Polvere di Baghdad teams him up again with Maurizio Scaparro. Right now, he is currently on an ongoing concert tour of Italy. Massimo will be featured in a documentary about the history of music from Naples, Italy in a film called Passione directed by American actor, John Turturro. His latest film is the miniseries remake of the classic play, Filumena Marturano, which is produced by Italian TV RAI Uno. Massimo plays the title character's husband, Domenico Soriano.

Keir Dullea ( /ˈkɪər duːˈleɪ/; born May 30, 1936) is an American actor best known for the character of astronaut David Bowman, whom he portrayed in the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey^[1] and in 1984's 2010: The Year We Make Contact.^[2] He has also played roles in films including Bunny Lake is Missing (1965) and Black Christmas (1974).^[3]

Dullea was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Margaret (née Ruttan) and Robert Dullea.^[4] Dullea was raised in the Greenwich Village section of New York City where his parents ran a bookstore. He graduated from George School in Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school he attended both Rutgers University and San Francisco State University before deciding to pursue acting.^[5]

Dullea has been married four times. His first marriage was to stage and film actress Margot Bennett in 1960. Their marriage lasted until 1968. He was married the following year to Susan Lessons; however their marriage only lasted a year before they divorced in 1970. In 1972, Dullea married a third time to Susie Fuller, who had two daughters from a previous relationship. The couple had met during the London run of Butterflies Are Free. After their marriage, Dullea, Fuller and her children lived in London for several years. The marriage ended with her death in 1998. Dullea married the actress Mia Dillon in 1999. They split their time between an apartment in Manhattan and a house in Connecticut.

Dullea made his film debut in 1961's Hoodlum Priest,^[6] in which he played a juvenile delinquent, though he had an earlier role as the German pilot in a 1960 television adaptation of Mrs. Miniver starring Maureen O'Hara. In 1962, he starred with Janet Margolin in David and Lisa, a film based on the book by Theodore Isaac Rubin, M.D.,a psychiatrist who treated the two adolescent schizophrenics portrayed in the film. He played a number of emotionally disturbed youths in films such as the first screen adaptation of James Jones' The Thin Red Line (1964), and Bunny Lake is Missing (1965), which co-starred Dullea with Laurence Olivier, Carol Lynley, and Noël Coward. Although they shared no scenes together in the film, when Coward initially met Dullea on the set, he uttered the often quoted line, 'Keir Dullea, gone tomorrow.'

Dullea also appeared on television in shows such as Naked City, a police drama about New York City, The Eleventh Hour, a medical drama about psychiatry, and Channing, a drama about life on a college campus starring Jason Evers and Henry Jones. In 1965 he guest-starred as Lieutenant Kurt Muller in episode 20, "To Heinie, With Love", of 12 O-Clock High (TV series). He appeared with John Huston in the movie De Sade (1969), playing the title role (the Marquis de Sade). He also appeared with Anne Heywood and Sandy Dennis in the 1967 film The Fox.

Since the great success of 2001, Dullea has had difficulty reproducing a similar success on film, although he was a regular vocal performer on CBS Radio Mystery Theater, which ran from 1974 to 1982. Dullea has also had a long and successful career on stage in New York City and in regional theaters. Dullea's other notable roles include Devon in the short-lived 1973 science fiction series The Starlost, Clayton Anderson Jr. in Madame X, Paul Renfield in The Fox, and Thomas Grambell in Brave New World (1981). In 2000, he appeared in The Audrey Hepburn Story as Hepburn's father Joseph. He had a major role in the 1974 cult classic Black Christmas.

In 2006, he had a role as a US Senator and a "major influence and mentor" to Matt Damon's character, in Robert De Niro's film The Good Shepherd.

Stage[link]

Dullea has stated that despite being more recognized for his film work, he prefers the stage.^[5] His first Broadway appearance was in 1967 in Dr. Cook's Garden with Burl Ives. Two years later he starred in the 1969 hit Broadway comedy, Butterflies Are Free alongside Blythe Danner. The play detailed a blind youth's desire to break free from his overprotective mother and pursue love with a free spirited girl. In the play, he introduced the title song written by Stephen Schwartz (later recording the tune on an album for Platypus Records). In 1974, he played Brick Pollitt in the Tennessee Williams classic Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The production featured the now definitive rewrite of the play.^[7] He also starred in the 1975 Broadway play, P. S. Your Cat Is Dead!. In 1983, he co-founded the Theater Artists Workshop of Westport alongside his wife Susie Fuller.^[5]

In July 1984, Dullea was guest artist aboard the ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2. On July 11, he performed Anton Chekov's one-act play "The Harmfulness of Tobacco" in the QE2 Theatre.

In December, 2004, for their annual birthday celebration to "The Master", The Noel Coward Society invited Dullea as the guest celebrity to lay flowers in front of Coward's statue at New York's Gershwin Theatre, thereby commemorating the 105th birthday of Sir Noel. Around the same time, Sony Home Video released Bunny Lake Is Missing for the first time on DVD.

In April 2010, Dullea performed the role of Tom Garrison in the off-Broadway production of the Robert Anderson play, I Never Sang For My Father co-starring Oscar-nominated actress Marsha Mason (as Margaret Garrison) and film and stage actor Matt Servitto (as Gene Garrison).
