Generac Power Systems is an American manufacturer of backup power generation products for residential, light commercial and industrial markets. Generac’s power systems range in output from 800 watts to 9 megawatts, and are available through independent dealers, retailers and wholesalers. Generac is headquartered in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and has manufacturing facilities in Eagle and Whitewater, Wisconsin.
Founded in 1959, the company soon began producing portable generators for Sears, Roebuck and Co. under the Craftsman brand. During the 1970s, Generac expanded its offerings in the portable and recreational vehicle markets, and in the 1980s the company entered the commercial and industrial markets with its backup power generation systems.
By end of the 1980s, the company was manufacturing residential, commercial and industrial generators, and in 1989, Generac introduced the first gaseous-fueled automatic home standby system.
In 1992, Generac began private labeling generator sets for Caterpillar, Inc. As the partnership grew between the two companies, they discussed a potential acquisition of Generac by Caterpillar, although a deal was never finalized. In June 1996, Caterpillar decided to terminate the private labeling agreement. Generac then sued Caterpillar under the Wisconsin Fair Dealership Law ("WFDL"), the Sherman Antitrust Act, the Wisconsin common law concerning restrictive covenants, and the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. The federal district court, in two separate orders, disposed of the action in Caterpillar's favor. Generac then challenged the lower court's rulings in the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled that Generac's claims were properly dismissed by the lower court. Generac continued to supply some transfer switches to Caterpillar until 2002, when Caterpillar changed suppliers.

It's hard to describe exactly how quiet this portable generator is. I recently ran a noise test of RV generators. Had the new Generac iQ been in the mix, it would have won without looking back. I don't think the noise, as mixed into the video, gives you the full sense of exactly how quiet this thing is, but if you listen, we're not even raising our voices to talk over it. It's quieter, under load, than the typical Onan is under no load. Best of all, it's going to retail for just $799! That's less than everyone's darling, the Honda. And it's quieter than the Honda to boot! (And nobody is paying us to say so.) These are great tools to keep some key appliances or mobile devices operating during an extended power outage. We compare the Honda, which has been around a long time, with the Generac which is the new kid on the block. We purchased the Honda previously but the Generac was provided to the Handyguys for the filming of this video. We had been hoping to take a look at this Generac inverter for a long time since it has great features and a great price.

This is a general overview and review of the Generac GP7500E electric start generator. I have owned this for about 4 months now and have been impressed with the power and performance. I use this generator to power our entire home through a transfer switch tied into our breaker box. The generator has no problem powering all of our essentials and more when needed. There have been some complications with the generator however that I discuss in the video. I do hope that this helps anyone out there looking to purchase a generator by giving a fair and realistic review of the product. You can purchase this generator here - http://tinyurl.com/kh3mnxh
In this video I show the DIY installation of the Generac standby generator. I am a building engineer capable of plumbing and electrical work so no outside contractors were required. I recommend you check your building codes and have your work inspected. Use an electrician and a plumber if you aren't sure of your abilities. We used an 8kw generator with a 50 amp 10 space automatic transfer switch. I show how to switch the generator from its default Natural gas setting to the alternate setting for propane. For this setup I'm using a rego LV404B39 twin stage regulator http://www.regoproducts.com/lpg/lpg-nh3-products/products/lv404b34_-lv404b39.html and a smaller than recommended 120 gal propane tank. The setup is much more compact and works perfectly. The house uses an oil fired water boiler...

GENERAC
You used to see him down Leicester Square,
With a mixed-up suit and filthy hair.
He played harmonica in limbo,
For his tea and fare
He drank too much, but, I couldn't care
Chorus:
Johnny Reggae he could not see (x3)
But it never stopped him
Smiling at me.
He wore a badge from a paradise isle,
He grinned a lot, he had a toothless smile.
He broke no laws,
Or appeared on no files,
And spent his night upon the pavement tiles.
Chorus
They say it started with some rookie police,
When a lucky right hand knocked one off his feet.
They dragged him, legless, to the soundproof cell,
Where no-one but the dead could hear you yell,
And they gave what they give to the troublesome
niggers.
Now, I hope one night, when there is me and thee,
That we are behind those men in a blind alley.
In the blackened night their eyes don't see,
Who dealt a dose of brutality.
Chorus:
For, Johnny Reggae he could not see (x3)
