Fat is one of the three main macronutrients: fat, carbohydrate, and protein. Fats, also known as triglycerides, are esters of three fatty acid chains and the alcohol glycerol.
The terms "oil", "fat", and "lipid" are often confused. "Oil" normally refers to a fat with short or unsaturated fatty acid chains that is liquid at room temperature, while "fat" may specifically refer to fats that are solids at room temperature. "Lipid" is the general term, as a lipid is not necessarily a triglyceride. Fats, like other lipids, are generally hydrophobic, and are soluble in organic solvents and insoluble in water.
Fat is an important foodstuff for many forms of life, and fats serve both structural and metabolic functions. They are necessary part of the diet of most heterotrophs (including humans). Some fatty acids that are set free by the digestion of fats are called essential because they cannot be synthesized in the body from simpler constituents. There are two essential fatty acids (EFAs) in human nutrition: alpha-linolenic acid (an omega-3 fatty acid) and linoleic acid (an omega-6 fatty acid).[2][3] Other lipids needed by the body can be synthesized from these and other fats. Fats and other lipids are broken down in the body by enzymes called lipases produced in the pancreas.
"America" is an American political advertisement released by the 2016 presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders. It premiered on January 21, 2016 via YouTube, and to air on television in Iowa and New Hampshire shortly before the Democratic Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary.
The advertisement features "America," a song recorded by Simon & Garfunkel for their album Bookends (1968).
The ad starts with scenes of everyday American life over soft humming and gentle guitar strumming. As the line, "let us be lovers, we'll marry our fortunes together" plays in the background, a middle-aged couple dances at a small Bernie Sanders for President rally. Then Sanders is seen speaking to a few people in a backyard. As the ad continues, the crowds grow larger and more enthusiastic. A montage of many Sanders supporters appear, as the words "They've all come to look for America" flash on the screen. Sanders is then seen addressing a large outdoor gathering, interacting one-on-one with supporters, appearing before more energetic crowds, finally ending in a large auditorium filled to capacity with cheering people.
Obesity in the United States has been increasingly cited as a major health issue in recent decades. While many industrialized countries have experienced similar increases, obesity rates in the United States are among the highest in the world.
Obesity has continued to grow within the United States. Two out of every three Americans are considered to be overweight or obese. During the early 21st century, America often contained the highest percentage of obese people in the world. Obesity has led to over 120,000 preventable deaths each year in the United States. An obese person in America incurs an average of $1,429 more in medical expenses annually. Approximately $147 billion is spent in added medical expenses per year within the United States.
The United States had the highest rate of obesity for large countries, until obesity rates in Mexico surpassed those of the United States in 2013. From 13% obesity in 1962, estimates have steadily increased. The following statistics comprise adults age 20 and over living at or near the poverty level. The obesity percentages for the overall US population are higher reaching 19.4% in 1997, 24.5% in 2004, 26.6% in 2007, and 33.8% (adults) and 17% (children) in 2008. In 2010, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported higher numbers once more, counting 35.7% of American adults as obese, and 17% of American children. In 2013 the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) found that 27.6% of American citizens were obese. The organization estimates that 3/4 of the American population will likely be overweight or obese by 2020. The latest figures from the CDC show that more than one-third (34.9% or 78.6 million) of U.S. adults are obese and 17% for children and adolescents aged 2–19 years.

Subscribe to our channel http://bit.ly/AJSubscribe Obesity in America has reached a crisis point. Two out of every three Americans are overweight, one out of every three is obese. One in three are expected to have diabetes by 2050. Minorities have been even more profoundly affected. African-Americans have a 50 per cent higher prevalence of obesity and Hispanics 25 per cent higher when compared with whites. How did the situation get so out of hand? On this week's episode of Fault Lines, Josh Rushing explores the world of cheap food for Americans living at the margins. What opportunities do people have to eat healthy? Who is responsible for food deserts and processed food in American schools? Fault Lines finds food revolutions taking place and speaks with the people that are fight...
According to the Physical Activity Council's annual survey, 28 percent of the American population sat on their ass and did nothing last year. These 83 million "totally sedentary" Americans age 6 and over did none of the 104 specific physical activities listed by the Council. That's the highest total since 2007, when that number was so outrageously high that the criteria for "active" things was expanded to include games like darts and billiards. America is fat. We’re the leading nation in obesity rates, with Mexico trailing hot on our heels huffing and puffing and taking short breaks to drink Mexican cola. Shocking new facts about the obesity crisis in the United States.
Fat America: obesity rates continue to climb every year. Approximately 123 million are either overweight or obese and estimates say those numbers will rise. Thirty-one states have increased in obesity rates. No states have shown any improvement. Definitely not time to eat. How Dangerous Is Fat? Can fat do irreversible damage or is it just an annoyance with minor consequences? After all, giving this enemy a free ride won't help. Can fat kill? Our private hope is that it does not have this capability. We blush as we realize that almost all of us would benefit by losing a few pounds. The bottom line reveals that a definite health risk exists due to a correlation of belly fat and diabetes. The guilty culprit is, well you know, the dreaded type which hangs over the belt. Beneath the muscl...

The World Health Organization has predicted that number will grow by 40 per cent by 2020. But what are the realities behind these statistics and what kind of strain does that put on the most basic of social structures – the family? In this film Mark Dolan sets off on a journey taking him from the world’s most obese country, Tonga, to the home of the world’s fattest man, Mexico, before finally ending up in fast food America. Along his travels he tries to find out how these families became so fat, who is to blame, and whether they can do anything to change it. Amarga vida
Tu que me has maltratao tanto
Yo que te he pagao tan caro
A mi me quiere hacer llorar
Y no, y no, y no, y no, y no...
Amarga vida
Tu que me has maltratao tanto
Yo que te he pagao con llanto
A mi me quiere hacer llorar
Y no, y no, y no, y no, y no...
Amiga me tuve que parar debajo de la sombra a ver
Lo que es tener o no tener
Lo que es ganar y perder
Lo que es matarse los amigos por poder a mi vida
A mi
Que te he demostrao de que estoy hecho
Y que le puesto el pecho a todo lo que me has soltao
A mi, ami no vida
A mi me das cosas lindas
A mi me das cariño
A mi me das a mis niños
A mi me das a mi isla
A mi me das Puerto Rico
Bueno ami no me vengas con cuentos
Ni con sueños violentos que yo soy negro
Puesto pa lo mio,
Orgulloso de mi caserio y de quien soy
Por eso estoy donde estoy.
Amarga vida
Tu que me has maltratao tanto
Yo que te he pagao con llanto
A mi tu no me va a matar
Y no, y no, y no, y no, y no...
Amarga vida
Tu que me has hecho tanto daño
Yo que te he pagao con llanto
A mi me quieres tu matar
Y no, y no, y no...
A mi que he corrio por toas las calles de este caserio.
Cuantos locos se han metio,
A tratar de hacerse dueños de lo mio.
