Flight of the Conchords is a New Zealand-based comedy band composed of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. The duo's comedy and music became the basis of a BBC radio series and then an American television series that aired for two seasons on HBO. They used to refer to themselves as "New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo", but now speak of themselves as "the almost award-winning fourth-most-popular folk duo in New Zealand."
They were named Best Alternative Comedy Act at the 2005 US Comedy Arts Festival and Best Newcomer at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and they received a nomination for the Perrier Comedy Award at the 2003 Edinburgh Festival Fringe for their show at Edinburgh venue The Caves. The duo's live performances have gained them a worldwide cult following.
McKenzie and Clement were flatmates at Victoria University of Wellington, where they were studying film and theatre before forming Flight of the Conchords in 1998. They first performed as part of a five-man group called So You're a Man, which included Taika Waititi and debuted at Wellington's iconic BATS Theatre, garnering a small but loyal following in New Zealand and Australia.
Flight of the Conchords is a musical comedy duo from New Zealand. It's also the title of three of the duo's works:
Flight of the Conchords is an American television comedy series that was first shown on HBO on June 17, 2007. The show follows the adventures of Flight of the Conchords, a two-man band from New Zealand, as its members seek fame and success in New York City. The show stars the real-life duo of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, who play fictionalized versions of themselves. A second season was announced on August 17, 2007 and shown from January 18, 2009. On December 11, 2009, the duo confirmed that the series would not return for a third season.
Throughout its run, Flight of the Conchords received positive critical reception, with its second season scoring 80/100 on Metacritic. The show has received 10 Emmy Award nominations, including "Outstanding Comedy Series" and "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series" for Jemaine Clement, both in 2009.
The series centers on the day-to-day lives and loves of two shepherds-turned-musicians, Jemaine and Bret (Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, playing fictionalized versions of themselves), who have uprooted themselves from their native New Zealand to try to make it big as a folk duo in New York City. The two have frequent appointments with their officious and ineffectual band manager, Murray Hewitt (Rhys Darby), a Deputy Cultural Attaché at the New Zealand Consulate. Jemaine and Bret constantly fend off the amorous attentions of Mel (Kristen Schaal), a married woman who is their sole fan and stalker. Their friend Dave Mohumbhai (Arj Barker) works at a pawn shop and gives them advice on dealing with American women and culture. Other recurring characters include their landlord, Eugene (Eugene Mirman), Bret's short-term girlfriend Coco (Sutton Foster), Jemaine and Bret's ex-girlfriend Sally (Rachel Blanchard), Mel's husband Doug (David Costabile), and Murray's put-upon assistant Greg (Frank Wood).
Flight of the Conchords is the debut full-length studio recorded album by New Zealand folk parody duo Flight of the Conchords, released 21 April 2008 by Sub Pop. Two songs, "Business Time" and "The Most Beautiful Girl (In the Room)", have been released as downloadable content for the video game Rock Band.
All songs written and composed by Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie.
The Flight was a Canadian superhero team in the Marvel Comics universe. Their first (and, to date, only) appearance was in Alpha Flight Special vol. 2, #1 (1992).
The Flight was the designation for the Canadian superhero team first formed by Department H. Also founded by James Hudson, this team was inexperienced and taught Hudson the need for a tier system in Department H's use of superhumans. Thus Alpha Flight, Beta Flight, and Gamma Flight were created and developed.
Inspired by the debut of the Fantastic Four, James MacDonald Hudson refined the purpose of Department H to find and/or develop Canada's superheroes. New recruit Groundhog joins Snowbird, St. Elmo, Stitch, Wolverine (as Weapon X), and Smart Alec in training. Within a week, the Flight is pressed into their first battle with Egghead's Emissaries of Evil. Egghead threatens the United States from Canadian soil with a nuclear missile. Smart Alec disables the missile's guidance system, but Egghead triggers the detonation sequence. Smart Alec panics leading to St. Elmo transforming the missile and the bomb into light. St. Elmo succeeds, but loses himself in the process. Groundhog and Dr. Michael Twoyoungmen scold Hudson for sending the team into battle while so inexperienced, with a near psychotic leader (Weapon X) and someone who folds under pressure. Hudson thus makes plans for a tier team system; while Groundhog leaves Department H. Afterwards Alpha Flight was formed to act as a Canadian superhero team.
The Flight (Russian: Бег, transliteration Beg) is a 1970 Soviet historical drama film, mainly based on writer Mikhail Bulgakov's play Flight, but also on his novel The White Guard and his libretto Black Sea. It is written and directed by Aleksandr Alov and Vladimir Naumov and is the story about a group of White refugees from the Russian Civil War, eking out an existence in Istanbul and Paris in the 1920s. It was entered into the 1971 Cannes Film Festival.
The Flight [Lux] is the debut EP by futurepop duo Edge of Dawn released in 2005. Several of the songs on this EP, such as "Descent", "The Flight", and "Elegance" would later be remixed and featured on their debut album Enjoy the Fall (with the former being remixed again and featured on their second EP, Borderline Black Heart). "Elegance" was later included in the video game Project Gotham Racing 4.

Lyrics from whatthefolk.net I'm the mother flippin' Rhymenocerous My beats are fly and the birds are on my back And I'm horny I'm horny If you choose to proceed you will indeed concede Cos I hit you with my flow The Wild Rhino Stampede. I'm not just wild, I'm trained, Domesticated I was raised by a rapper and rhino that dated And subsequently procreated That's how it goes Here's the Hiphopopotamus The hip hop hippo They call me the Hiphopopotamus My lyrics are bottomless They call me the Hiphopopotamus Flows that glow like phosphorous Poppin' off the top of this esophagus Rockin' this metropolis I'm not a large water-dwelling mammal Where did you get that preposterous hypothesis? Did Steve tell you that, perchance? Steve. My rhymes and records they don't get play...
All credit goes to "Flight Of The Conchords" I put this song up to share a extrordinarily amazing piece of music and for other people to enjoy.

I've tried and tried to run and hide
To find a life that's new
But wherever I go I always know
I can't escape from you
A jug of wine to numb my mind
But what good does it do?
The jug runs dry and still I cry
I can't escape from you
These wasted years are souvenirs
Of love I thought was true
Your memory is chained to me
I can't escape from you
There is no end, I can't pretend
That dreams will soon come true
A slave too long to a heart of stone
I can't escape from you
