Utah (/ˈjuːtɔː/ or i/ˈjuːtɑː/; Navajo: Áshįįh bi Tó Hahoodzo; Arapaho: Wo'tééneihí ) is a state in the western United States. It became the 45th state admitted to the Union on January 4, 1896. Utah is the 13th-largest, the 31st-most populous, and the 10th-least-densely populated of the 50 United States. Utah has a population of nearly 3 million (Census estimate for July 1, 2015), approximately 80% of whom live along the Wasatch Front, centering on Salt Lake City. Utah is bordered by Colorado to the east, Wyoming to the northeast, Idaho to the north, Arizona to the south, and Nevada to the west. It also touches a corner of New Mexico in the southeast.
Approximately 62% of Utahns are reported to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or LDS (Mormons), which greatly influences Utah culture and daily life. The world headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) is located in Utah's state capital, Salt Lake City. Utah is the most religiously homogeneous state in the United States, the only state with a Mormon majority, and the only state with a majority population belonging to a single church.

My daughter and I were on a Sunday drive from Ticaboo (Lake Powell, UT) along the Burr Trail. We noticed some very dark clouds north of us, but the rain where we were was fairly light. As we entered Long Canyon a flash flood was coming in from the rains to our north. The flood waters were moving relatively slowly, so we were able to get ahead of them and film them as they chased my daughter down the dry stream bed of Long Canyon. (In hind site, not the smartest thing to do - but it sure was cool). It was an awesome display of nature seeing how all of the spectacular canyons of Southern Utah have been carved and molded over time. As we drove closer to Boulder, the same rains were sending waterfalls cascading over the sandstone cliffs - The Burr Trail is spectacular.
Error in the video intro, shot on September 8th, not 9th. Woops ;) Some very low moisture and strong instability struck south central Utah on September 8th, 2013. Flash flooding ensued. Travel video about destination Salt Lake City in the United States of America. What Mecca is to the Muslems and Rome is to the Catholics, is what Salt Lake City is to the Mormons. It is the capital of the U.S. state of Utah.Four mighty walls surround the 4 hectare area in the middle of the old town, the centre of the Mormon Church, Temple Square. It is decorated with flowers and contains the most important sacred buildings of the Mormon community, such as the Salt Lake Temple, The Tabernacle and Conference Centre. Joseph Smith, Jr. was 15 years old when he had his first vision. The Angel MORONI appeared to him and gave him a number of sacred texts that led to the foundation of the Mormon church. A sacred land was established and a settlement created within the desert. The largest sanctuary...

Every time we approach a national park I have the same overwhelming feeling of being very small, amazed and extremely fortunate. National parks are America's greatest asset and the fact that we are allowed to explore them is a gift. Zion National park is no exception. Even in daytime the moon seems to watch over the magnificent and fascinating world of the Grand Canyon, one of the world’s most famous natural wonders. This incomparable and beautiful canyon extends for several hundred kilometres in the northwest of Arizona. The secrets of the Canyon’s huge rock walls and deep valleys lay hidden for many years. Archaeological discoveries have shown that the Anasazi, a tribe of Native American Indians, were the first to settle within this region. From its source in the Rocky Mountains to its estuary in the Gulf Of Mexico, the Colorado River flows at an altitude of nearly three thousand metres above sea level. The rocks, sand and mud that are carried along with the water cut relentlessly into the stony ground. The deepest point of the canyons descends for...
Utah is a western state defined by its vast expanses of desert and the Wasatch Range mountains. Salt Lake City, the capital, is centered around Temple Square, headquarters of the Mormon Church and site of its majestic temple and tabernacle, with its massive dome and renowned choir.
It only took 30 minutes of rain to turn a dry desert wash into a river of mud. We could hear boulders banging along the bottom like the sound of distant thunder. The speed of the water was surprising because the wash looks almost flat when you walk up it.This blocked the road out but by morning all was ok again so we continued on our way.

I made a BIG mistake! I didn't heed the warning signs, both literal and figurative. I went camping in southern Utah during monsoon season and got stranded by a flash flood. Zion Narrows hike. Top - Down. 16 miles, need backcountry permit and shuttle to pick you up at 6am. Trip to trail head takes 2 hours and it's VERY risky to hike this if flash flood risk is moderate or high. We hiked it when flash flood conditions were moderate. July and August have highest risk of flash flood.
Took a trip into Utah to backpack buckskin gulch, but when the monsoons came through we scrapped our plans and turned into a road trip with many sights and hikes to do. "Flash Memory Technology" Srivatsan Venkatesan Senior Device Engineer IM Flash Abstract: This seminar is an overview of Flash memory technology. Flash memory are a class of solid state non-volatile memory that uses floating gate MOSFETS as a memory element to store charge. Flash memories are widely used in mobile and computing devices and are expected to increase in popularity in the coming years. In this talk we introduce concept and operation of a single flash cell and how they are integrated into a memory array. NAND flash memory brings in unique challenges with design, fabrication and reliability. Here we discuss key performance indicators and how they impact the functioning and reliability of the memory. Industry has been aggressive scaling flash to keep the cost lower, which in tu...

[Lyrics By Edu Falaschi]
Changes are coming so fast
As a flash all this freedom is shaking your life
Blinded by fire and shadows of legacy of fear
Cold sword of wisdom cuts the crime of
Deprivation of sight
People are captive since they were born
In the chains of all innocent lies
Diving and sinking in a mud sea
Where they can't breathe
Cold sword of wisdom cuts the crime of
Deprivation of sight
Thoughts are free as the wind
You just should spread them
You just should break all the welds
They want to control your mind
They want to sew your eyes
They steal your resting mind
Oh! Deprivation of sight
Thoughts are free as the wind
Shout loud! Stand up and cry
Thoughts are free as the wind
You just should spread them
You just should feed them
