Midi or MIDI may refer to:
A map is a symbolic depiction highlighting relationships between elements of some space, such as objects, regions, and themes.
Many maps are static two-dimensional, geometrically accurate (or approximately accurate) representations of three-dimensional space, while others are dynamic or interactive, even three-dimensional. Although most commonly used to depict geography, maps may represent any space, real or imagined, without regard to context or scale; e.g. brain mapping, DNA mapping and extraterrestrial mapping.
Although the earliest maps known are of the heavens, geographic maps of territory have a very long tradition and exist from ancient times. The word "map" comes from the medieval Latin Mappa mundi, wherein mappa meant napkin or cloth and mundi the world. Thus, "map" became the shortened term referring to a two-dimensional representation of the surface of the world.
Cartography or map-making is the study and practice of crafting representations of the Earth upon a flat surface (see History of cartography), and one who makes maps is called a cartographer.
Nadia Elena Comăneci (Romanian pronunciation: [ˈnadi.a koməˈnet͡ʃʲ]; born November 12, 1961) is a former Romanian gymnast, winner of three gold medals at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10 in an Olympic gymnastics event. She also won two gold medals at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. She is one of the best-known gymnasts in the world. In 2000, Comăneci was named as one of the Athletes of the Century by the Laureus World Sports Academy.
Nadia Elena Comăneci was born in Onești, Romania, the daughter of Gheorghe and Ștefania-Alexandrina Comăneci. Her mother was inspired to call her Nadia by a Russian film she watched while pregnant, whose heroine was called Nadya, the diminutive version of the Russian name Nadezhda, which means "hope." Comăneci has a brother named Adrian who is four years younger than her.
Comăneci began gymnastics in kindergarten with a local team called Flacăra ("The Flame"), with coaches Duncan and Munteanu. At age 6, she was chosen to attend Béla Károlyi's experimental gymnastics school after Károlyi spotted her and a friend turning cartwheels in a schoolyard. Károlyi was looking for gymnasts he could train from a young age and saw the two girls during recess. When recess ended, the girls ran inside. Károlyi went around the classrooms trying to find them, and eventually spotted Comăneci. (The other girl, Viorica Dumitru, went on to be one of Romania's top ballerinas.) Comăneci was training with Károlyi by the time she was 7 years old, in 1968. She was one of the first students at the gymnastics school established in Onești by Béla and his wife, Márta. Unlike many of the other students at the Károlyi school, Comăneci was able to commute from home for many years because she lived in the town.
Yann Tiersen (born 23 June 1970) is a French musician and composer. His musical career is split between studio albums, collaborations and film soundtracks. His music involves a large variety of instruments; primarily the guitar, synthesizer or violin together with instruments like the melodica, xylophone, toy piano, harpsichord, accordion and typewriter.
Tiersen is often mistaken for a composer of soundtracks, himself saying "I'm not a composer and I really don't have a classical background", but his real focus is on touring and studio albums which just happen to often be suitable for film. His most famous soundtrack for the film Amélie was primarily made up of tracks taken from his first three studio albums.
Yann Tiersen was born in Brest in the Finistère département in Brittany in northwestern France, in 1970, into a French family of Belgian and Norwegian origins. He started learning piano at the age of four, violin at the age of six, and received classical training at several musical academies, including those in Rennes, Nantes, and Boulogne. In the early 1980s when he was a teenager, he was influenced by the punk subculture, and bands like The Stooges and Joy Division. In 1983, at the age of 13, he broke his violin, bought an electric guitar, and formed a rock band. Tiersen was then living in Rennes, home to the three-day music festival Rencontres Trans Musicales, held annually in December, which gave him the opportunity to see acts like Nirvana, Einstürzende Neubauten, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Cramps, Television, and Suicide. A few years later, when his band broke up, Tiersen bought a cheap mixing desk, an 8-track reel-to-reel tape recorder, and started recording music solo with a synthesizer, a sampler, and a drum machine.
Danny Clarence Hawkins (born November 10, 1960) is an American former gridiron football player, coach, and sportscaster. He served as the head football coach at Willamette University (1993–1997), Boise State University (2001–2005), and the University of Colorado (2006–2010), compiling a career college football record of 112–61–1. Hawkins was the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL) for five games in 2013 before he was fired mid-season. He was a studio analyst for college football with ESPN.
Danny Clarence Hawkins grew up in Bieber, California, in the northeast corner of the state. He attended junior college at College of the Siskiyous in Weed and transferred to UC Davis, where he played fullback, and earned a bachelor's degree in physical education in 1984. He later completed a master’s degree in educational administration from St. Mary's College in 1993.
He began his coaching career at UC Davis under coach Jim Sochor the fall before he graduated, spending three years there (1983–1985). He then served as head coach at Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento for the 1986 and 1987 seasons. He spent four seasons (1988–1991) as the offensive coordinator at the College of the Siskiyous, then served as defensive coordinator at Sonoma State in 1992.

======================================= https://www.facebook.com/IainHemstockMusic http://www.twitter.com/IainHemstock ======================================= Comptine d'un autre été - l'après midi is a piece that appears on Yann Tiersen's soundtrack to the French movie Amelie which was released in 2001. The original is for solo piano only and is an extremely popular piece for amateur pianists here on YouTube to upload. In fact if you look real closely at the terms and conditions for YouTube it does say that all amateur pianists have to record and upload this track so make sure you're not breaking the rules.... All right, I may be making that bit up but it seems like the case :-D The original solo piano version sounds great by itself and really doesn't need any embelishment but I also of...

At exactly 365 days before the start of the 2017 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships (AGWC), which will take place from October 2 to October 8, 2017, at the Olympic Stadium, it was time to announce the official spokesperson of the event and to mark the kickoff of this international event’s preparations. The festivities started with the arrival of the queen of the 1976 Olympic Games, Nadia Comaneci, at the Montreal-Trudeau Airport, in the afternoon of October 4th. For her first night in the city, Nadia had the opportunity to visit Montreal’s tallest building, in company of Bruny Surin, of one of the AGWC governors and of the AGWC organizing committee. The two Olympians and the members of the committee have been able to discuss and to discover a stunning view of Montreal at the Obse...
