One of my favorite scenes in Law Abiding Citizen. Plus, the quote "Stop treating law like it's a F'in assembly line" is soo true. The law is soo damn corrupt. If you haven't seen it I would highly recommend it even though the ending sucked so I made up my own in my mind. Video is flipped.

The Who
The Who are an English rock band that formed in 1964. Their classic line-up consisted of lead singer Roger Daltrey, guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon. They are considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century, selling over 100 million records worldwide and establishing their reputation equally on live shows and studio work.
The Who developed from an earlier group, the Detours, and established themselves as part of the pop art and mod movements, featuring auto-destructive art by destroying guitars and drums on stage. Their first single as the Who, "I Can't Explain", reached the UK top ten, followed by a string of singles including "My Generation", "Substitute" and "Happy Jack". In 1967, they performed at the Monterey Pop Festival and released the US top ten single "I Can See for Miles", while touring extensively. The group's fourth album, 1969's rock opera Tommy, included the single "Pinball Wizard" and was a critical and commercial success. Live appearances at Woodstock and the Isle of Wight Festival, along with the live album Live at Leeds, cemented their reputation as a respected rock act. With their success came increased pressure on lead songwriter and visionary Townshend, and the follow-up to Tommy, Lifehouse, was abandoned. Songs from the project made up 1971's Who's Next, which included the hit "Won't Get Fooled Again". The group released the album Quadrophenia in 1973 as a celebration of their mod roots, and oversaw the film adaptation of Tommy in 1975. They continued to tour to large audiences before semi-retiring from live performances at the end of 1976. The release of Who Are You in 1978 was overshadowed by the death of Moon shortly after.

Judge
A judge presides over court proceedings, either alone or as a part of a panel of judges. The powers, functions, method of appointment, discipline, and training of judges vary widely across different jurisdictions. The judge is supposed to conduct the trial impartially and in an open court. The judge hears all the witnesses and any other evidence presented by the barristers of the case, assesses the credibility and arguments of the parties, and then issues a ruling on the matter at hand based on his or her interpretation of the law and his or her own personal judgment. In some jurisdictions, the judge's powers may be shared with a jury. In inquisitorial systems of criminal investigation, a judge might also be an examining magistrate.

A variety of traditions have become associated with the rank or occupation.
In many parts of the world, judges wear long robes (often in black or red) and sit on an elevated platform during trials (known as the bench).
In some countries, especially in the Commonwealth of Nations, judges wear wigs. The long wig often associated with judges is now reserved for ceremonial occasions, although it was part of the standard attire in previous centuries. A short wig resembling but not identical to a barrister's wig would be worn in court. This tradition, however, is being phased out in Britain in non-criminal courts.

The American Who Quit Money To Live In A Cave
Another story I did for the BBC. Mark Sundeen, the author of book, 'The Man Who Quit Money' is a soulful journey into the spirit of Daniel Suelo. Suelo, gave up on money in 2000. He walked into a phone booth, pulled out 30 dollars and left it. Twelve years later, Suelo still does not have a personal i.d. bank accounts, a modern home, does not take money, or live off of federal welfare. Suelo, lives in caves in the canyon lands outside of Moab, UT. Suelo, harvests wild foods, eats roadkill, and dumpster dives. Suelo, is not an isolationist, he still is very active in the Moab community SE Utah politics and he is an active blogger. Sundeen, knew Suelo from Moab, UT when they both worked together as cooks. Birds on the Wires
Winner of the YouTube Play Guggenheim Biennial Festival. Soundtrack available here: http://tinyurl.com/7xj6net Reading a newspaper, I saw a picture of birds on the electric wires. I cut out the photo and decided to make a song, using the exact location of the birds as notes (no Photoshop edit). I knew it wasn't the most original idea in the universe. I was just curious to hear what melody the birds were creating. I sent the music to the photographer, Paulo Pinto, who I Googled on the internet. He told his editor, who told a reporter and the story ended up as an interview in the very same newspaper. At 2am August 30th The Who appeared on stage and gave one of the most memorable concerts of their career.
The filmed negative of the show, shot by Academy Award winning Director Murray Lerner, has been restored to the highest visual quality.
The sound has now been remixed from it's original 8 track tapes under the personal supervision of Pete Townshend at his Eel Pie Studios in London.
The result is a stunning 24 bit mix available for the first time in 5.1 Surround Sound and DTS.

Filmed at The Summit in Houston, Texas on 20 November 1975, this concert captures a typically incendiary live performance by The Who at the start of the US leg of their tour in support of "The Who By Numbers" album which had been released earlier that year.
The original video footage has been cleaned and the sound remixed by longtime Who collaborator Jon Astley but the show still retains a rawness that encapsulates the energy of The Who's performance. The set list stretches across the band's career from classic early singles such as "My Generation" and "Substitute" through an extensive "Tommy" section and up to tracks from the then newly released "By Numbers".

Sit in judgment of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

In this short documentary, we interview people who build, live in, and love treehouses. These are far from the forts of childhood memory, though. They employ artificial limbs for support, boast both plumbing and running water, and wouldn't look out of place in luxury lifestyle magazines. "Treehouses are becoming more and more adult," says Michael Garnier, a treehouse building pioneer. "They're not just for kids anymore."

Another story I did for the BBC.
Mark Sundeen, the author of book, 'The Man Who Quit Money' is a soulful journey into the spirit of Daniel Suelo. Suelo, gave up on money in 2000. He walked into a phone booth, pulled out 30 dollars and left it. Twelve years later, Suelo still does not have a personal i.d. bank accounts, a modern home, does not take money, or live off of federal welfare. Suelo, lives in caves in the canyon lands outside of Moab, UT. Suelo, harvests wild foods, eats roadkill, and dumpster dives. Suelo, is not an isolationist, he still is very active in the Moab community SE Utah politics and he is an active blogger.
Sundeen, knew Suelo from Moab, UT when they both worked together as cooks. But years later Sundeen came across Suelo in a market and payed him no attention. After Sundeen gave thought to the current economy and Suelo's philosophy he was inspired to write about Suelo. Sundeen's book focuses on one man, but the message of the book captures the American zeitgeist of a changing economy.

At Live Unbound we believe in pushing yourself to be greater through what you love and doing whatever it takes to overcome mental and physical constraints. Once in awhile we come across a real life story that embodies this message. A story of falling madly in love with your dream. Then using that passion to overcome the massive obstacles that appear in the journey of realizing it. This is that story.
This documentary was made possible by Frank Casares who believed in us and funded the project. We had a small crew of 5 people and shot on a RED epic, RED dragon, 5D Mark ii and the Inspire Copter. The biggest challenge was the slow motion skydiving scene which was filmed by Craig O’Brien. Those were shot on the RED dragon at 200 fps. Due to wind, we only had 4 jumps to make it happen but Craig and skydivers Brad Patterson and Dalten Kadow nailed it.
Currently we’re searching for the next great story to tell. We encourage people to reach out to us if they have one or know somebody who does.

Reading a newspaper, I saw a picture of birds on...

Reading a newspaper, I saw a picture of birds on the electric wires. I cut out the photo and decided to make a song, using the exact location of the birds as notes (no Photoshop edit). I knew it wasn't the most original idea in the universe. I was just curious to hear what melody the birds were creating.
I sent the music to the photographer, Paulo Pinto, who I Googled on the internet. He told his editor, who told a reporter and the story ended up as an interview in the very same newspaper.
Here I've posted a short video made with the photo, the music and the score (composed by the birds).

This past spring I spent more time chasing storms on the plains than ever before. The most I had spent prior to this was seven total days and that was last year. What I came away with from that short time made me realize that if I could double that...the stuff I could capture would be amazing. Of course I long to be out there for a month or longer, but when you live in Phoenix and have a wife and three kids...you have to be realistic.
I turned 40 years old this year and I told my wife all I wanted was 10 days chasing on the plains. She loves me though and it ended up being 14! Two days in April and then 12 straight days from May 23rd - June 3rd. Those 12 days were absolutely incredible. I'm friends with other chasers via social media, met them on the side of roads while chasing, even grabbed dinner together...but never have I felt more of a part of the chaser community than being out there for almost two weeks. Living the life...seeing the same amazing chasers over and over...it was overwhelming to me. I missed my family, it was hard at times, but it was one of the best experiences of my life.
Both chases originated from where I live in Arizona. In April I drove out all night to Colorado, slept maybe an hour, chased all day, got a good night's sleep, chased the next day in the Texas panhandle and drove home that same night, stopping only for a quick nap in New Mexico. The second chase was the same. Left Phoenix late on the evening of May 22nd, never really slept and the chase was on the next day. All in all I drove well over 12,000 miles over the course of those two weeks, visited 10 total states (New Mexico, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and North Dakota) and shot over 45,000 frames of footage for this film.
I have many people to thank. Pat O'Brien for being my first private tour attendee this spring. Mike Mezeul II for one very big tip on a spot above Rapid City, SD. To James Langford who not only guided me to that spot over the phone, but "now-casted" for me many, many times. I may have missed out on four crucial clips in this film if it wasn't for him suggesting I punch the core in South Dakota. Thank you sir. And to my pal Andy Hoeland...who was with me for over a week of my time out there, driving, looking at forecasts, talking to weather experts and always helping us have a great target for that day. He's become my chase partner for most of these big plains trips and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Also thanks to Cinetics (http://cinetics.com/axis360) for sending me their Axis 360 to play with. I used it one time in this film and wish I had used it more. I love that scene.
Finally...above everyone else, of course...is my wife. To let me go for that long, to never complain, to never discourage me...but to only believe in me...how could I be so lucky to deserve a wife like that? We have three kids and that's tough on a parent to have her husband away that long. It will never cease to amaze me that I would not be here, doing this, if it wasn't for her support and encouragement.
Technical details...everything was shot on Canon 5D3's, along with an array of Rokinon lenses. I got sick of lens-twisting (mostly of FORGETTING to lens twist) so I mainly used those manual lenses on this trip. Everything was processed using LR Timelapse, Lightroom, After Effects and Premiere Pro.
I'm in absolute love with this film. The stuff I saw rivaled anything I've ever seen on the plains minus that insane Booker supercell in 2013. We saw four tornadoes (one of them appears in a deleted scene at the very end of the film), countless supercells, gorgeous shelf clouds, stunning mammatus and some awesome lightning shows. The song..well, the song for this film blew my mind. I loved it when I heard it, but then seeing how everything started coming together on the timeline, the pace, the slow build-up, the huge ending...I've said it before, but the song is 50% of the film. Thank you again Kerry for everything!
All this movie does it fuel me to want to do better next year and this summer in Arizona. Stay tuned for Monsoon II and for The Chase II next spring!

SINOPSYS
Metachaos, from Greek Meta (beyond) and Chaos (the abyss where the eternally-formless state of the universe hides), indicates a primordial shape of ameba, which lacks in precise morphology, and it is characterized by mutation and mitosis.
In fact the bodies represented in METACHAOS, even though they are characterized by an apparently anthropomorphous appearance, in reality they are without identity and conscience. They exist confined in a spaceless and timeless state, an hostile and decadent hyperuranium where a fortress, in perpetual movement, dominates the landscape in defense of a supercelestial, harmonic but fragile parallel dimension. In its destructive instinct of violating the dimensional limbo, the mutant horde penetrates the intimacy of the fortress, laying siege like a virus. Similar to the balance of a philological continuum in human species, bringing the status of things back to the primordial broth.
STATEMENT
METACHAOS is a multidisciplinary audio-visual project, articulated in a short film, a set of photography (http://www.alessandrobavari.com/english/Metachaos-photographies/gallery_Metachaos-photographic_series.htm) and mix-technique paintings. The purpose of the project is to represent the most tragic aspects of the human nature and of its motion, such as war, madness, social change and hate. An accretion of feelings that are metaphorically represented by specific visual forms, which are abstract conceptually, but concrete and tangible formally. The application of acid and monochromatic tints, besides the strong contrasts, makes everything intentionally more oppressive and tragic.
In order to obtain a more immersive and plausible version, the shot was taken adopting the camera live technique. The extreme and frenetic motion of the shoulder camera, similar to the subjective one, becomes a main constant, so that, along with the persisting cuts used to edit the video, create a bigger sense of instability and danger. In fact, thanks to the dissemination of Technology, it is possible to notice that the unconscious-esthetic potential of the shots available on Youtube, characterized by a pseudo-documentary and amateur approach, often offer an unexpected emotional involvement, which trigger an exhibitionistic-voyeuristic interchange between the author and the consumer.
The irrational gesture and action of the bodies, as if a collective form of madness controlled them, are inspired by artists like Bosch and Bruegel who, between the ‘400 and ‘500, produced an iconography where irrational images show sickly madness and pain.
The project has been realized using different techniques: live shots taken in discharged industrial sites, CGI animations, tracking and motion captures, besides various other analogical ones.
American Jeff Ensign, aka Evolution Noise Slave composed the original sound track, which has been progressively updated during the video production. The musical score was inspired by 6 separate pieces Jeff had previously created that were then combined into a hybrid. The composition was also based in part from a sonic interpretation of the ideas presented in Antonin Artaud’s the Theater and Cruelty overlaid on Bavari’s images.

Shadowy creatures and shockingly grotesque figures intrude into this domain rendered in black & white and sepia tones and rip it to pieces. About the project:
November, the 9th, 1999. The fall of the Berlin Wall set the seal on the end of the Iron Curtain, a fence some 7 thousand chilometres that split Europe in two spheres of influence. A division that lasted from the end of World War II to the end of the Cold War. How did the lives of those who grew up along this ideological and political border change? How did the dreams of the boys who jumped on the Wall to celebrate a regained freedom end up?
After twenty years from the historical date, four editorial staff - Peacereporter journalist agency, Matteo Scanni, movie director, Becco Giallo comic Editor and Prospekt Photojournalist agency - have decided to travel along the former Iron Curtain border and to tell what it was. Two teams provided by videocamera, photocamera, audio recorder and drawing paper have left from Berlin toward two directions: the first heads to the north has travelled along Germany, Polland, Estonia, Lithuania and Russia; while the second heads to the south has touched Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.
They come back to the headquarter with dozen of interviews to writers, politicians, musicians, sport people, photographers, dissidents and ordinary people. whose lives have changed after the Berlin Wall fallen down. These stories create a big fresco, a celebration of the ideals, but also speak about the collapse of the dreams of a new western lifestyle.
The project resultant is a surfing website, hightly interactive within 35 mini-movies with a variable duration from 2 to 10 minuts. Following the points of the path along a map of the old Europe, the user can discover the laps of the trip, read informations texts, listen to the original audio files from that time, share the lives of the persons who born under the curtain shadow. The narrative style is new, and merges video, photos, comics, animation, graphic and music.

The project has been shortlisted at VISA POUR L’IMAGE 2009 at Perpignan as one of the 9 best world web documentaries.
It has been shortlisted at the Festival Europeen des Quarte Ecrans of the Pompidou Centre at Paris.

After twenty years from the historical date, four editorial staff - Peacereporter journalist agency, Matteo Scanni, movie director, Becco Giallo comic Editor and Prospekt Photojournalist agency - have decided to travel along the former Iron Curtain border and to tell what it was. Two teams provided by videocamera, photocamera, audio recorder and drawing paper have left from Berlin toward two directions: the first heads to the north has travelled along Germany, Polland, Estonia, Lithuania and Russia; while the second heads to the south has touched Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.
They come back to the headquarter with dozen of interviews to writers, politicians, musicians, sport people, photographers, dissidents and ordinary people. whose lives have changed after the Berlin Wall fallen down. These stories create a big fresco, a celebration of the ideals, but also speak about the collapse of the dreams of a new western lifestyle.
The project resultant is a surfing website, hightly interactive within 35 mini-movies with a variable duration from 2 to 10 minuts. Following the points of the path along a map of the old Europe, the user can discover the laps of the trip, read informations texts, listen to the original audio files from that time, share the lives of the persons who born under the curtain shadow. The narrative style is new, and merges video, photos, comics, animation, graphic and music.

The project has been shortlisted at VISA POUR L’IMAGE 2009 at Perpignan as one of the 9 best world web documentaries.
It has been shortlisted at the Festival Europeen des Quarte Ecrans of the Pompidou Centre at Paris.

Nekrasov started writing “Who is happy and free in Russia” straight after the serfdom abolition in Russia in 1863 and was working on it for 14 years. The poem tells the story of seven free men, and their travels on a long journey all over Russia, trying to answer the question: who is happy and free?
In the 21st century those seven free men are coming back to the same road in the search for happiness, but in the context of contemporary Russia.

Branko Miliskovic was performing his new long duration live performance on the 29th and the 30th of April 2011, in the Les Halles de Schaerbeek theatre in Brussels, Belgium. It was a premiere of his new work, entitled ASSOLUTO/ THE ABSOLUTE specially commissioned for TROUBLE #7 festival of live art. This performance was performed in two large images. The first image entitled ‘’The Speech’’ was showing the body of Miliskovic as a ruler who is announcing the greatest offensive of the battle which will never happen. In the second image entitled ‘’The Day of Defiance’’ , Miliskovic took the defensive body, surrounded by four big red flags, pledging , waving , saluting and waiting for the song of Sacred War, facing his debacles and eventual triumph.

LOST IN THE DEPTH
World Ocean is still a place concealing multitudes of secrets – some of them ancient as time itself, some of them relatively new – just centuries or even dozens of years old. One of the more recent mysteries is the sinking of Yamashiro, a Japanese WWII Battleship that was sent to the bottom of Surigao Straits, Southern Philippines, by US Forces in the last major naval battle of the Second World War. Ever since, historians have been arguing about the exact location of Yamashiro’s final rest, and the 60-year old argument is still continuing. John Bennett, the former champion in deep scuba diving, made it the purpose of his life to resolve that mystery, people say that even his 1000-foot record-braking dive was aimed more at attracting enough sponsors to find the elusive battleship than at record-breaking as such. Alas, John died tragically, before he could live the dream of his life – touch the Yamashiro with his own hand.
NARRATOR: John Bennett went diving exactly because he was attracted by the mystery of sunken ships or “wrecks” as the divers call them. As you swim along a wreck claimed by one of the wars, he said once, you feel your link to human history, you see the ship and you feel it, you become one with it for that short duration of a deep dive…
The depth, however, was not the only thing that attracted John to Yamashiro, although the battleship is supposed to be anywhere from a mind-boggling 350 to 500 feet. There was more to it than the sheer challenge of the depth: no one had seen the battleship since the night of its sinking, and John wanted to break through the shroud of mystery, to be the first to discover it in its watery grave.
In the fall of 1997 the remains of once-mighty Imperial Navy of Japan set out on one of its last voyages. Their target was the Gulf of Leyte where the US forces were engaged in a major landing operation in order to secure an all-important strategic beachhead in the Philippines. The biggest Japanese force under the command of Vice Admiral Kurita was approaching Leyte from the North, spearheaded by the two super-battleships Yamato and Musashi, still considered by many the most powerful and beautiful warships ever made. Another force, somewhat less powerful, was closing in on Leyte from the south, going through the Surigao Straits. The southern force was based around two sister battleships, Yamashiro and Fuso. Both of them were about 600 feet long and 100 feet wide, with the tall superstructures that the Americans dubbed “Pagodas” amidships, slightly toward the bow.
Kurita’s northern force of the IJN was experiencing setbacks from the very start. It was detected and identified by a US submarine when it was still quite some distance from Leyte and was attacked by US aircraft more than once. Suffering losses and slowing down, it was still steaming ahead. The southern force commanded by Rear Admiral Nishimura seemed to be much luckier at first. It reached as far as the Straits of Surigao practically undetected by the enemy, they were only attacked once, early in the morning of October 24, on the eve of their mortal combat. In the evening of the same day the IJN warships led by the battleship Yamashiro entered the narrow Straits, steaming full seed ahead, toward the American beachhead on Leyte. At the exit from the Straits, however, their luck seemed to have run out, for there, lying in wait for them, was deployed a huge assembly of American naval forces. Nishimura’s two old battleships, four destroyers and one heavy cruiser all of a sudden faced a grouping of six battleships in the classic battle line formation across the straits, reinforced by dozens of cruisers, destroyers and PT boats. Seven Japanese major ships against 43 American ones, not to mention the 39 PT boats.
Did Nishimura know they were there? Yes he did, he had exact reconnaissance about the force waiting for him, but he still pressed on with his squadron, straight into the deadly trap.
Why did he decide to proceed on what was looking more and more like a suicide mission? We will never know for sure now, but he probably decided to engage the superior American fleet mainly to distract the attention from Kurita’s force, approaching Leyte from the North. One of my favorite scenes in Law Abiding Citizen. Plus, the quote "Stop treating law like it's a F'in assembly line" is soo true. The law is soo damn corrupt. If you haven't seen it I would highly recommend it even though the ending sucked so I made up my own in my mind. Video is flipped.
