Jharkhand Tourism: Round Trip of Topchanchi Lake,Giridih

It attracts tourists from not only all part of India, but also from foreign. The lake was artificially excavated in 1915 to provide water in Jharia, Dhanbad and the suburbs. The lake is surrounded by mountains. There's a road which circles the whole lake in the bottom of mountains. Bike riding in the road is a enjoyable experience. There are benches under the trees to sit, in some places through the road. Nice place to sit and indulge in the silence and the nature. Parasnath Hill, little far from the lake, is the highest hill of the state, of height 1350m. Parasnath Hill is a pilgrimage for the Jains. On the top of the hill, there are temples, and footmarks of 24 tirthankars are preserved there. The view from the top of Parasnath Hill is magnanimous. Nearby travel destinations are Parasnath Hill(Sameed Shikharji), 24 Tonks, Jal Mandir, Madhuban, Topchanchi Park, Topchanchi Sanctuary and many more places. Topchanchi can be reached by road, via the NH2 bypass. It's 31km from Dhanbad, around 41km from Steel City Bokaro, and around 100km from Asansol. Buses going to Giridih can drop you at the entrance of the lake. Nearby railway station is Gomoh station. Way to Parasnath Temple is via Dumri More. Trek for the hill starts from Madhuban, which is around 37km from the lake.Best season to visit Parasnath is from October to June.
