Vimeo /ˈvɪmiːoʊ/ is a U.S.-based video-sharing website on which users can upload, share and view videos. It was founded by Jake Lodwick and Zach Klein in November 2004. They left the company in 2007 and 2008 respectively. The name Vimeo was created by co-founder Jake Lodwick and is a play on the word video, inserting the word "me" as a reference to the site's dedication to user-made video and is also an anagram of the word "movie".
IAC/InterActiveCorp purchased Vimeo in August 2006, as part of its acquisition of Connected Ventures. Dae Mellencamp is the Chief Executive Officer of Vimeo. In January 2009, Mellencamp joined IAC as General Manager of Vimeo.
As of December 2011[update], Vimeo has attracted 65 million unique visitors per month and more than 8 million registered users. Fifteen percent of Vimeo’s traffic comes from mobile devices.
Starting 4 May 2012, the site has been blocked in India by several ISPs under orders from the Department of Telecom, without any stated reasons.
The community of Vimeo is large and filled with indie filmmakers and vast numbers of people with a passion for film. The Vimeo community has adopted the name "Vimeans", meaning a member of the Vimeo community, usually one who is active and engaged with fellow users on a regular basis.

As a youth some of my favorite folding knives were the Spyderco pocket knife, the Buck folding knife, and of course the American classic, Swiss Army knife.

The Spyderco folding knife, has a hefty weight, that is quickly forgotten about, as you clasp your hands on its thin, stainless steel design. It takes but a moment to realize that the Spyderco pocket knife, is a deadly weapon, as well as a timeless design.

"On September 11th, 2001, I was living in Brooklyn and found myself close to the World Trade Towers as they burned and fell to the ground. * Foolishly close, I caught the collapse of the 1st Tower on tape, and was in a crowd of people that ran from and was caught in a huge cloud of dust. In this strange dust storm, I talked to a distressed man who said he was "the building manager", and caught a ride from a Peruvian good Samaritan back to Brooklyn with 2 Japanese girls who had been in the tower when it was hit. Camera rolling the entire time. 10 years later, I took out the tape and watched it again, and am sharing it with you.
* Q: How did it happen that I was there?
I woke up that morning in Brooklyn to the news that the World Trade Towers were on fire. An aspiring videographer, I grabbed my camera and caught what was probably the last train going into lower Manhattan before everything was shut down. When I got above ground I made my way towards the towers, the first of which buckled and collapsed within minutes of my arrival.
I was totally brash and foolish to be so close, to be sure - but in defense of my younger self, I left my house towards what I thought was a fire, and did not know about the planes until later - a fact might have clued me into the severity of the moment."
