Monster Clown

Monster Clown (Born February 24, 1976) is the ring name of a Mexican Luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. He is best known as part of Los Psycho Circus in Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) along with Psycho Clown and Murder Clown where they portray a trio of "evil clowns". They are currently in their second reign as the AAA World Trios Champions. Monster Clown's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. While his real name has not been revealed it has been established that he previously worked under the ring names Highlander and Aliens before becoming a part of Los Psycho Circus. In the summer of 2009 he was forced to change his ring name from Zombie Clown to Monster Clown due to copyright problems.

Professional wrestling career

The wrestler who would later be known as Monster Clown began his professional wrestling career in 1997 as the enmascarado (masked wrestler) "Highlander" working primarily in and around the Tijuana, Baja California area. He some times worked on Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) shows when the promotion ran shows in Tijuana, but was not a full-time member of the roster. In 200X he began working more for AAA as AAA owner Antonio Peña came up with a new ring character for him called "Aliens". The "Aliens" character was that of an actual alien from space who had come to earth to wrestle. He was even given a mascota (a Mini-Estrella companion) called "Mungo". The odd duo joined up with Madrox and Kriptor to form the group "Los Alienigenas" and worked a feud with the colorful duo of El Alebrije and Cuije. When Peña died in the fall of 2007 the Aliens character quickly dropped as it did not fit with the direction the new management wanted.

The Aliens (Australian band)

The Aliens were an Australian new wave band which formed in April 1978. They were one of the first local bands of the late 1970s to adopt a "uniform" of "black clothes and skinny, white ties". Two of their singles, "Confrontation" and "Follow that Girl", appeared on the Kent Music Report Singles Chart top 50. Australian musicologist, Ian McFarlane, noted their "sound embraced guitar-oriented pop rock with the emphasis on 1960s melodies".

History

Three of the founders of The Aliens, Danny Johnson on lead vocals, Geoff Stapleton on guitar and vocals and Greg Webster on lead guitar, were in an Adelaide band, Gold, at that time Stapleton was on drums. In 1975 the line-up of Gold also included Grant Lang on keyboards, Dave Lewis on lead guitar and Grant Lewis on bass guitar. They played local venues around the city, as well as a number of country performances. In 1976 Gold were winners of the 5KA 'Battle of the Bands'. Soon after they were renamed as Riff Raff, which had a more punk name which reflected their material.

Description

Aliens Adventure Game is a science-fiction system that emphasizes combat between human Colonial Marines and the space horrors from the movie Aliens. The game utilizes cardstock miniatures with plastic stands that are moved around on a map.

Publication history

Aliens Adventure Game was designed by Barry Nakazono and David McKenzie, and published by Leading Edge Games in 1990 as a boxed set containing a 32-page book, a 4-page booklet, a large color map, three cardstock sheets, plastic stands, and a die.

Reception

Kevin Barrett reviewed Aliens Adventure Game for Challenge #57. Barrett began by commenting: "Leading Edge Games took a great universe with cool hardware and messily glued it all to the Phoenix Command rules set. The tech-candy movie we all drooled over through 15 viewings got a roleplaying butcher job." He concluded his review by saying: "Despite all I've said, I still like this product – mostly because I liked the movie. If nothing else, the source material is a good read and should give you plenty of ideas for military missions, whether you're running Aliens, MegaTraveller, Twilight: 2000 or Mechwarrior."

DJ mix

A DJ mix or DJ mixset is a sequence of musical tracks typically mixed together to appear as one continuous track. DJ mixes are usually performed using a DJ mixer and multiple sounds sources, such as turntables, CD players, digital audio players or computer sound cards, sometimes with the addition of samplers and effects units, although it's possible to create one using sound editing software.

DJ mixing is significantly different from live sound mixing. Remix services were offered beginning in the late 1970s in order to provide music which was more easily beatmixed by DJs for the dancefloor. One of the earliest DJs to refine their mixing skills was DJ Kool Herc.Francis Grasso was the first DJ to use headphones and a basic form of mixing at the New York nightclub Sanctuary. Upon its release in 2000, Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Presents: Another World became the biggest selling dj mix album in the US.

Music

A DJ mix is often put together with music from genres that fit into the more general term electronic dance music. Other genres mixed by DJ includes hip hop, breakbeat and disco. Four on the floor disco beats can be used to create seamless mixes so as to keep dancers locked to the dancefloor. Two of main characteristics of music used in dj mixes is a dominant bassline and repetitive beats. Music mixed by djs usually has a tempo which ranges from 120 bpm up to 160 bpm.

Mix (Stellar album)

Mix is the debut studio album by New Zealand Pop rock band Stellar, released by Sony BMG on 29 July 1999. The album debuted at #2 on the RIANZ albums chart, and after seven weeks within the top 10 would finally reach the #1 position. The album would spend a whole 18 weeks within the top 10 on the charts. The album was certified 5x platinum, meaning that it had sold over 75,000 copies in New Zealand.

The album was re-released on 18 February 2000 as a limited edition which included a new cover art and a bonus CD-rom that included the music videos for the singles "Part of Me", "Violent" and "Every Girl" as well as three remixes (these had appeared on previous singles) and an 8-minute documentary. Even after the limited edition's run had finished, all subsequent pressings of the album would feature the new cover.

Mix became the 22nd best-selling album in 2000 in New Zealand. At the New Zealand Music Awards in 2000, Mix won the Album of the Year award.

Moody (Sussex cricketer)

Moody (full name and dates of birth and death unknown) was an English cricketer. Moody's batting and bowling styles are unknown.

Moody made a single first-class appearance for Sussex against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge in 1843. Nottinghamshire were dismissed for 326 in their first-innings, with Moody bowling 2 wicketless overs. In response Sussex were dismissed for just 33, with Moody being dismissed for a duck by Sam Redgate. Following-on, Moody came in at number three and was dismissed for 3 runs by William Clarke. Sussex were dismissed for 262 in their second-innings, thanks to 92 from Charles Hammond and 95 from Charles Hawkins. This total was enough for Sussex to draw the match.
