Humbaj
Humbaj () (better known as Humcha or Hamchawadi) is a hamlet located in Shimoga district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is famous for being home to an ancient temple of Goddess Padmavati, and to the Humbaj Matha (seminary/monastery), an important institution of the Jain community. Other notable highlights of the place are a lake that reputedly never dries up and a tree that likewise always remains green.

Ajitnath
Ajitnatha was the second Jain Tirthankar of the present age (Avasarpini). According to Jain beliefs, he became a siddha, a liberated soul which has destroyed all of its karma. The soul that became Bhagavan Ajitnath, in its earlier incarnation, was the great king Vimalvahan of Susima city in Mahavideh area. He led a pious life in spite of the available princely grandeur. At an appropriate time, he became an ascetic under Arindam Suri.

Chandraprabha
Chandraprabha was the eighth Jain Tirthankar of the present age (Avasarpini). According to Jain beliefs, he became a siddha, a liberated soul which has destroyed all of its karma. Chandraprabha (also known as Chandraprabhu Swami) was born to King Mahasen Raja and Queen Lakshmana Devi at Chandrapuri in the Ikshvaku clan. His birth date was the twelfth day of the Posh Krishna month of the Indian calendar.

Kundakunda
Kundakunda (also Kundkund) is a celebrated Jain Acharya, Jain scholar monk, 2nd century CE, composer of spiritual classics such as: Samayasara, Niyamasara, Pancastikayasara, Pravacanasara, Atthapahuda and Barasanuvekkha. He occupies the highest place in the tradition of the Jain acharyas.

Situated in the Hassan District, 157 km from Bangalore, the statue of Gomateshwara Bhagwaan Bahubali is located atop Vindhyagiri mountain. At 57 feet, it is the tallest monolithic statue in the world. There are 650 steps to the top of the platform. This is the place where Chandragupta, the founder of the Mauryan dynasty, became a Jain ascetic after relinquishing his throne. The statue of Gomateshwara is 1026 years old. Shravanabelagola is the seat of the ancient Bhattaraka Math, belonging to the Desiya Gana lineage of Mula Sangh, from the Digambar monastic tradition. Mahamastakabhisheka is held in Shravanabelagola once in 12 years and attracts a huge number of devout worshippers from all over the world.

Mula Sangh (Sanskrit मूलसंघ) is an ancient Jain monastic order ^[1]. Mula literally means the "root" or the original order.

Mula-Sangh has been the main Digambar Jain order^[2]. Today the Digambar Jain tradition is synonymous with Mula Sangha. The great Acharya Kundakunda is associated with Mula Sangh. The oldest known mention of Mula Sangh is from 430 AD^[3].

Mula Sangh was divided into a few branches. According to Shrutavatara of Acharya Indranandi and Nitisar of Bhattaraka Indranandi, Acharya Arhadbali had organized a council of Jain monks, and had given names (gana or sangha) to different groups. The four major groups were

Nandi Gana, which had two major lineages:
- Balatkara Gana, Saraswati Gachchha (oldest known mention 1071 AD)
- Deshiya Gana, Pustaka Gachchha (oldest known mention 860 AD)
Sena Gana, the lineage of Jinasena it was formerly called Panchastupa or Surastha. (oldest known mention 821 AD)
Deva Gana, the lineage of Akalanka deva
Simha Gana

The Bhattarakas of Shravanabelagola and Mudabidri belong to Deshiya Gana, the Bhattaraka of Humbaj belongs to the Balatkara Gana.

Several Digambara orders in North India belonged to Kashtha Sangha. There were some minor differences in practices between the Mula Sangh and the Kashtha Sangh.
