Eena Meena Deeka (1994)

Plot: Two con-men, Inder alias Eena and Deeka has an encounter in a bank. Eena commit the crime but because of Deeka's bad record with the police they are misunderstood and thus Deeka gets a long jail term but manages to escape. He then begins a manhunt for Eena in order to take him to the police station so that he can confess to his crime thus clearing his name; he does manages to get his hands on Eena but he refuses to accept his crime. Watch how Deeka makes Eena's life miserable to get him to comply with his wish.

Plot: Multi-millionaire Balwant Rai is a widower who lives with his daughter Uma and a school going son Amar alias Munna. Since Uma is of marriage-able age, Balwant decides to get her marry to Sunderlall's son Raghuveer and they all move in to live with Balwant at his estate. In order to take cover of Balwant's entire property Sunderlall and Raghuveer first have him killed, locked up Uma in a den and attempt to kill Munna who is saved by a village boy named Mangal. Years later Mangal and Munna have now matured, and Munna has decided to make his friend Mangal the managing director of the entire Rai group of industries much to the disappointment of Sunderlall who has all time been the M.D of Rai industries. All is well until Managal is framed for the rape and murder of a prostitute and Munna is attacked with a deadly weapon. It certainly looks like Sunderlall and Raghuveer won't rest until they usurp the entire Rai's property and do away with all its family members.

Plot: Dharma is the local hoodlum in a small town in India, who terrorizes everyone in the town and forces them to pay him "protection money". No police officer has dared to stand in Dharma's way, except for Inspector Dilawar, only to be subsequently subdued and publicly humiliated by Dharma. When drug dealer brothers, Gorakh and Paras, hear about Dharma, they invite him to join them, but Dharma refuses. They decide to teach him a lesson by asking Jaggu to molest his sister, Kamla, which he does, but is severely beaten by Dharma. Kamla is in love with Vijay, and Dharma permits them to get married. Then Dharma is arrested, tried in Court, convicted of assault, and the prosecution main witness is none other than Vijay. An angered Dharma escapes from police custody and brutally rapes Laxmi, Vijay's sister. After the marriage, Vijay is killed at the hands of Jaggu, who is eventually hunted down and killed by Dharma. When Dharma goes to deal with Gorakh and Paras, he is surrounded by the police, arrested, tried in court, and sentenced to prison for life. After 30 years he returns home to find that Laxmi has sired his son, Mangal, who has grown up to be another "Dharma" who is now working for Gorakh and Paras; his sister is widowed, and has a son, CBI Inspector Vikrant - who has been instructed to arrest Mangal - dead or alive.

Plot: Honest and diligent Police Inspector Jagdish Chandra (Dalip Tahil), while carrying out his investigation against Ajghar Singh (Kiran Kumar) is killed by an assailant (Mahavir Shah) hired through the Peter (Tej Sapru) and Lawrence (Goga Kapoor) by Ajghar Singh. Leaving behind two young boys, one of whom, Brijesh kills the assailant, and is taken-in by Peter and Lawrence to further their ends. The other son, Avinash is adopted by the police commissioner, and grows up (Jeetendra) to be a police inspector like his dad. Brijesh (Sanjay Dutt) meanwhile has just been released from prison, and after attempting to rob a jewellery store, he flees with his girlfriend, Chanda (Madhuri Dixit) to the same village where his dad lived. On the way there, he mistakenly throws Avinash out of the train after a fight. Once in the village, he assumes the identity of Avinash and starts lording over the villagers, and taking bribes from Ajghar Singh. Things start getting complicated when Avinash's wife, Sudha (Jayapradha) arrives there to look for her husband; and when Chanda is molested by Ajghar and his men, forcing Brijesh to take a stand, aided with a mysterious masked horse-rider, or alternatively leave the village and go back to the city. Ajghar will go to any lengths to get Brijesh out of the village, even to the extend of re-hiring Peter and Lawrence, to carry out this task.

Plot: Widowed Radha lives in rural India circa 1960s, along with two sons, Bharat and Puran. While she would like to educate her sons, and ensure that they lead good lives, she cannot do so on her own, and must sacrifice the career of one son so that the second can achieve this goal. For this purpose, Bharat willingly sacrifices his life, toils hard so that Puran can get a decent education, which he does, excels in his studies, and also goes abroad. The family is very pleased, when Puran returns, hoping that he will ensure that they all live happily in India. But the man they know as Puran has been replaced by a cruel, self-serving man who now calls himself Kumar, and whose one goal is to usurp and divide the family property, so that he can continue to live a comfortable life. "Kasme vaade pyar wafa sab, baaten hai, baaton ka kya, koi kisika nahin, yeh jhootey naahtey hai, naahton ka kya..." by Manna Dey, continues to be popular even today, which translated means that "Promises, faith, love are mere unreliable words, no one is true to anyone, all relations are mere words...".

Plot: Collegian Prakash lives a middle-class lifestyle in a small town along with his brother, Mangal, and Mangal's wife, Laxmi, at a time when India is struggling with a population boom that is threatening it's very existence. Family planning norms and publications are being ridiculed by Indians, rich and poor alike, who believe that children are God's boon. In this atmosphere Laxmi gives birth to a baby boy, and in the next few years, gives birth to 5 more children, 2 boys and 3 girls. They get poorer and in debt, yet she gets pregnant for a 7th time, and this time it takes her life, leaving the children's responsibility with Mangal and Prakash. When Prakash blames Mangal for Laxmi's death, he is asked to leave, and Prakash's plans to marry Sandhya, the daughter of Gangu Telli, are also put on hold as Gangu loves children and does not believe in family planning. Watch what happens when Mangal is forced to beg from the community in order to keep his children from starvation and ultimate destitution.

Plot: Take a nostalgic journey circa 1960s Bombay with it's quiet, peaceful and scenic background, trams, and a unique taxi driver, Mangal, who is called "Hero" by his friends. A driver who drives a cab by day, then drinks at night, listens to his singer girlfriend, Sylive, and then goes into a drunken stupor - and wakes up with a hangover. One day, while assisting another taxi driver, Mangal comes to the assistance of a damsel in distress, who is being molested by two thugs. Mangal gallants rescues her, and attempts to take her to her destination, to no avail, as the person she is looking for has moved. The next day, Mangal and the young woman, Mala, again attempt to seek Ratanlal, a music director, but the entire day is spent in vain. Mala lives in Mangal's tiny apartment and both become attracted to each other. When Mala finds out about Sylvie, she leaves him. He goes in her search, but finds that she has become a famous singer with the help of her music director friend. Will Mangal ever get a chance to tell about his love for Mala? What will Sylvie's reaction be?
