Khan Academy is a non-profit educational organization created in 2006 by educator Salman Khan with the aim of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. The organization produces short lectures in the form of YouTube videos. In addition to micro lectures, the organization's website features practice exercises and tools for educators. All resources are available for free to anyone around the world. The main language of the website is English, but the content is also available in other languages.
The founder of the organization, Salman Khan, was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States to immigrant parents from Bangladesh and India. After earning three degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (a BS in mathematics, a BS in electrical engineering and computer science, and an MEng in electrical engineering and computer science), he pursued an MBA from Harvard Business School.
In late 2004, Khan began tutoring his cousin Nadia who needed help with math using Yahoo!'s Doodle notepad. When other relatives and friends sought similar help, he decided that it would be more practical to distribute the tutorials on YouTube. The videos' popularity and the testimonials of appreciative students prompted Khan to quit his job in finance as a hedge fund analyst at Connective Capital Management in 2009, and focus on the tutorials (then released under the moniker "Khan Academy") full-time.
From kindergarten through high school, the mathematics education in public schools in the United States has historically varied widely from state to state, and often even varies considerably within individual states. With the recent adoption of the Common Core Standards by 45 states, mathematics content across the country is moving into closer agreement for each grade level.
Each state sets its own curricular standards and details are usually set by each local school district. Although there are no federal standards, 45 states have agreed to base their curricula on the Common Core State Standards in mathematics beginning in 2015. The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) published educational recommendations in mathematics education in 1991 and 2000 which have been highly influential, describing mathematical knowledge, skills and pedagogical emphases from kindergarten through high school. The 2006 NCTM Curriculum Focal Points have also been influential for its recommendations of the most important mathematical topics for each grade level through grade 8.
The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) (Malay: Tentera Laut DiRaja Malaysia; TLDM) is the naval arm of the Malaysian Armed Forces.
The Royal Malaysian Navy can trace its roots to the formation of the Straits Settlement Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (SSRNVR) in Singapore on 27 April 1934 by the British colonial government in Singapore. The SSRNVR was formed to assist the Royal Navy in the defence of Singapore, upon which the defence of the Malay Peninsula was based. Also behind its formation were political developments in Asia, particularly a Japan that was increasingly assertive in Asia. In 1938 the SSRNVR was expanded with a branch in Penang.
On 18 January 1935, the British Admiralty presented Singapore with an Acacia class sloop, HMS Laburnum, to serve as the Reserve's Headquarters and drill ship. It was berthed at the Telok Ayer Basin. HMS Laburnum was sunk in February 1942, prior to the capitulation of Singapore at the beginning of the Pacific Second World War.

Terma SCANTER 6000 Radar Selected by Royal Malaysian Navy Terma SCANTER 6000 radars have been chosen by the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) to meet the requirement for a combined navigation and helicopter control radar that will be fitted on two Lekiu-class frigates as part of their mid-life modernisation and service life extension. According to Jesper Tolstrup, Director, Radar Applications, Terma, the high-resolution SCANTER 6000 radar will enable the frigates to detect and track small targets – from the horizon all the way up to the ship itself – on the surface and in low-level air space, and in all weather conditions. The RMN has also selected the SCANTER 6000 for its two new Multi-Purpose Common Support Ships (MPCSS). “It is a similar installation to the frigates with the ARPA displa...

RADA's Three-Dimensional (3D) Perimeter Surveillance Radars provide comprehensive border and perimeter surveillance through detection, classification and tracking of surface and aerial intruders such as pedestrians, vehicles, slow and small aircraft, vessels and more. These radar systems can be based on any member of RADA’s Multi-Mission Hemispheric Radar (MHR) family of tactical radar platforms – pMHR, eMHR, ieMHR, and also the Compact Hemispheric Radar (CHR) platform. These radar platforms differ primarily in antenna sizes, resulting in maximal detection ranges.

Most were in service from 1950s to end of 1980s See: The PineTree Radar Line Sites Information http://www.pinetreeline.ca/locations/sites.html "The AN/FPS-508 antenna is a parabolic reflector rotating 360 degrees continuously at a rate of five revolutions per minute. It could detect aircraft up to 100,000 feet in elevation at ranges in excess of 200 miles. Used in conjunction with a height finder antenna, it created a three dimensional picture of altitude, azimuth and range of aircraft within the coverage area. These sensors contributed valued data to the surveillance, identification and aircraft intercept control process of North American Air Defense (NORAD) ground environment air defense mission." F...
