"Doom metal has come a long way since the early work of Candlemass and Witchfinder General. Many a more or less successful fusion has been undertaken, most notably the very successful doom/death mish-mash, but also other mixed class genres have had their successful representatives. Hexer belong to this latter category, since on Cosmic Doom Ritual they nominally play a combination of black and doom metal.
In all honesty, the black metal is quite toned down. There are the odd riffs, and a few faster-paced parts, but there are other genres filtering into the mix that take up a lot more space. The basic musical landscape consists of slow, slow doom metal, with bizarre melodies played on massively down tuned guitars, coupled with stoner and experimental stuff. The distortion is crushing, sometimes generating a noisy industrial vibe. An analogue synthesizer and a pile of effects add a healthy dose of surrealism and atmospheric insanity.
The mostly low tempo doom brings immediate thoughts of Esoteric. Hexer rarely go as slow as the British masters, but with the heavy psychedelia going on almost constantly the connection is still impossible not to make. The German origin and the blackish vocals, complete with a certain desperate sound, also make it difficult to forgo mentioning Bethlehem. These references only go so far, to be sure, because Hexer definitely have their own sound.
To be more concrete, the regular employment of oriental melodies and rhythms mix things up quite a bit, and this reviewer can’t really think of any other doom act that have gone quite this route. A huge bonus is that these influences are supremely well integrated into the music, and not just tacked on in the form of interludes or (shudder) intros. You cannot listen to “Pearl Snake” without forming some vague notion of a Persian belly dancer performing her craft in the middle of the night on a decrepit Ironclad warship, floating on a river of black oil. Or maybe you can, but only if you lack any faculty of imagination.
The album has its ups and downs, as most albums do. Sometimes the heavy experimentation takes over in a way that makes the music lose its way, when it coincides with less melodic passages. There are far worse examples of such meandering, though, and overall Cosmic Doom Ritual holds together nicely. The oppressive atmosphere the album evokes is partly a typically doom metal one, well known from Skepticism and the aforementioned Esoteric, and partly something alien and refreshingly new.

New track from The Zenith Passage entitled 'Holographic Principle II: Convergence,' taken from their upcoming 4/15/2016 release "Solipsist."
It was in early 2012 that a small recording collaboration between two friends (Justin McKinney and Greg Hampton) began to coalesce into something that would prove to be well more than the sum of its parts. The Zenith Passage may have come about from humble beginnings in a stuffy Los Angeles apartment, but the product thereof is anything BUT humble. Even the earliest demo tracks delivered a relentless torrent of technical guitar work accompanied by a distinctly frenetic and brutal vocal delivery that has since become an unmistakable hallmark in a scene that is all too often the victim of stagnation. Far from being strictly a shredfest, TZP also incorporates a thematic backbone that draws inspiration from the chaotic and awesome destructive powers of our universe. Progressive interludes invoke a palpable sense of abstract dread and reverence for things beyond mortal comprehension. The atmosphere created clearly nods to inspiration drawn from legendary acts such as Deeds of Flesh, Soreption, Fallujah, Severed Savior, and Aeon.
The project's initial offerings generated enough buzz in social media circles alone to convince the duo to double their efforts in earnest, and to begin seeking out members to complete their lineup. The subsequent release of a proper EP in January 2013 (entitled "Cosmic Dissonance") catapulted TZP's recognition to previously unprecedented heights, greatly broadening their fanbase, and catching the attention and admiration of some of California's foremost metal musicians. Not long thereafter, it was announced that Rob Maramonte (ex-Fallujah) would also be stepping in to lend his talents and fill the role of second guitarist. The lineup was complete with the final addition of drummer, Luis Martinez (Oblivion, ex-Antagony).
In the summer of 2013, TZP had the honor of signing on with Unique Leader Records for a multi-album deal. The stage is currently set for TZP to secure their foothold in topmost reaches of the metal pantheon, and they are hard at work churning out new content for their debut full-length. Rest assured, this marks only the beginning. The world has only just set foot onto the passage towards the pinnacle, the apex, the Xenith. BLEGH.

The tempo of the music is tuned to the tempo of Saturn = 10755.699 earth days timeperiod
since frequency = 1 / timeperiod, f = 1/(1/10755.699*24*60) beats per minute
Doubling this frequency 31 times gives tempo for Solar|Saturn = 138.653 bpm (new data)
Oh sorry, it is in a higher tempo =147.801bpm related to the great maha cycle of the Jupiter|Saturn conjunction system

The mandelbrot set you see here has the deep black Buddha Form Lake as a point in the complex plane which is a Cartesian plot of Real numbers +1 or -1 or +2 or -2 or +3 or -3 etc...
against axis of imaginary numbers which are multiples of the square root of negative 1.
This can be visualized as being upon an Area which can be a positive area to have length of sides + Real 1 or - Real 1, or 2, or 3, etc and the continuous bits inbetween the Whole integer values, seemingly the result of Cosmic Quantization., But for negative are, the length of side are multiples of i, where i = square root of -1.
In these visuals, the Real number Axis is vertical, present as a transition to negative from positive going up the length of the lake.
Imaginary, the square root of -1 is along the horizontal axis of the mandelbrot set you witness in this vid.

Whore of Babylon
The Whore of Babylon or The Great Prostitute or Babylon the Great is a Christian figure and also place of evil mentioned in the Book of Revelation in the Bible. Her full title is given as "Babylon the Great, the Mother of Prostitutes and Abominations of the Earth." (Greek: Βαβυλὼν ἡ μεγάλη, ἡ μήτηρ τῶν πορνῶν καὶ τῶν βδελυγμάτων τῆς γῆς; transliterated Babylōn hē megalē, hē mētēr tōn pornōn kai tōn bdelygmatōn tēs gēs.) She likely symbolizes Sin and also represents an empire in the real world of the time, with similarities to the Roman or Egyptian empires of the past, including having great military strength and the use of slavery in the construction of the empire. She rides the first beast which is likely Death (see The Beast (Revelation)), and symbolizes Sin leading to Death. Like all empires of the past, it will fall, as prophesied in the Book of Revelation chapter 18. The Bible reads in portions "Let one with understanding solve the meaning".

Greco-Roman mysteries
Mystery religions, sacred mysteries or simply mysteries, were religious schools of the Greco-Roman world for which participation was reserved to initiates (mystai). The main characterization of this religion is the secrecy associated with the particulars of the initiation and the ritual practice, which may not be revealed to outsiders. The most famous mysteries of Greco-Roman antiquity were the Eleusinian Mysteries, which were of considerable antiquity and predated the Greek Dark Ages. The mystery schools flourished in Late Antiquity; Julian the Apostate in the mid 4th century is known to have been initiated into three distinct mystery schools — most notably the Mithraic Mysteries. Due to the secret nature of the school, and because the mystery religions of Late Antiquity were persecuted by the Christian Roman Empire from the 4th century, the details of these religious practices are derived from descriptions, imagery and cross-cultural studies. "Because of this element of secrecy, we are ill-informed as to the beliefs and practices of the various mystery faiths. We know that they had a general likeness to one another".

New track from The Zenith Passage entitled 'Holographic Principle II: Convergence,' taken from their upcoming 4/15/2016 release "Solipsist." It was in early 2012 that a small recording collaboration between two friends (Justin McKinney and Greg Hampton) began to coalesce into something that would prove to be well more than the sum of its parts. The Zenith Passage may have come about from humble beginnings in a stuffy Los Angeles apartment, but the product thereof is anything BUT humble. Even the earliest demo tracks delivered a relentless torrent of technical guitar work accompanied by a distinctly frenetic and brutal vocal delivery that has since become an unmistakable hallmark in a scene that is all too often the victim of stagnation. Far from being strictly a shredfest, TZP also incorporates a thematic backbone that draws inspiration from the chaotic and awesome destructive powers of our universe. Progressive interludes invoke a palpable sense of abstract dread and reverence for things beyond mortal comprehension. The atmosphere created clearly nods to inspiration drawn from legendary acts such as Deeds of Flesh, Soreption, Fallujah, Severed Savior, and Aeon. The project's initial offerings generated enough buzz in social media circles alone to convince the duo to double their efforts in earnest, and to begin seeking out members to complete their lineup. The subsequent release of a proper EP in January 2013 (entitled "Cosmic Dissonance") catapulted TZP's recognition to previously unprecedented heights, greatly broadening their fanbase, and catching the attention and admiration of some of California's foremost metal musicians. Not long thereafter, it was announced that Rob Maramonte (ex-Fallujah) would also be stepping in to lend his talents and fill the role of second guitarist. The lineup was complete with the final addition of drummer, Luis Martinez (Oblivion, ex-Antagony). In the summer of 2013, TZP had the honor of signing on with Unique Leader Records for a multi-album deal. The stage is currently set for TZP to secure their foothold in topmost reaches of the metal pantheon, and they are hard at work churning out new content for their debut full-length. "Doom metal has come a long way since the early work of Candlemass and Witchfinder General. Many a more or less successful fusion has been undertaken, most notably the very successful doom/death mish-mash, but also other mixed class genres have had their successful representatives. Hexer belong to this latter category, since on Cosmic Doom Ritual they nominally play a combination of black and doom metal.
In all honesty, the black metal is quite toned down. There are the odd riffs, and a few faster-paced parts, but there are other genres filtering into the mix that take up a lot more space. The basic musical landscape consists of slow, slow doom metal, with bizarre melodies played on massively down tuned guitars, coupled with stoner and experimental stuff. The distortion is crushing, sometimes generating a noisy industrial vibe. An analogue synthesizer and a pile of effects add a healthy dose of surrealism and atmospheric insanity.
The mostly low tempo doom brings immediate thoughts of Esoteric. Hexer rarely go as slow as the British masters, but with the heavy psychedelia going on almost constantly the connection is still impossible not to make. The German origin and the blackish vocals, complete with a certain desperate sound, also make it difficult to forgo mentioning Bethlehem. These references only go so far, to be sure, because Hexer definitely have their own sound.
To be more concrete, the regular employment of oriental melodies and rhythms mix things up quite a bit, and this reviewer can’t really think of any other doom act that have gone quite this route. A huge bonus is that these influences are supremely well integrated into the music, and not just tacked on in the form of interludes or (shudder) intros. "Doom metal has come a long way since the early work of Candlemass and Witchfinder General. Many a more or less successful fusion has been undertaken, most notably the very successful doom/death mish-mash, but also other mixed class genres have had their successful representatives. Hexer belong to this latter category, since on Cosmic Doom Ritual they nominally play a combination of black and doom metal.
In all honesty, the black metal is quite toned down. There are the odd riffs, and a few faster-paced parts, but there are other genres filtering into the mix that take up a lot more space. The basic musical landscape consists of slow, slow doom metal, with bizarre melodies played on massively down tuned guitars, coupled with stoner and experimental stuff. The distortion is crushing, sometimes generating a noisy industrial vibe. An analogue synthesizer and a pile of effects add a healthy dose of surrealism and atmospheric insanity.
The mostly low tempo doom brings immediate thoughts of Esoteric. Hexer rarely go as slow as the British masters, but with the heavy psychedelia going on almost constantly the connection is still impossible not to make. The German origin and the blackish vocals, complete with a certain desperate sound, also make it difficult to forgo mentioning Bethlehem. These references only go so far, to be sure, because Hexer definitely have their own sound.
To be more concrete, the regular employment of oriental melodies and rhythms mix things up quite a bit, and this reviewer can’t really think of any other doom act that have gone quite this route. A huge bonus is that these influences are supremely well integrated into the music, and not just tacked on in the form of interludes or (shudder) intros. New track from The Zenith Passage entitled 'Holographic Principle II: Convergence,' taken from their upcoming 4/15/2016 release "Solipsist."
It was in early 2012 that a small recording collaboration between two friends (Justin McKinney and Greg Hampton) began to coalesce into something that would prove to be well more than the sum of its parts. The Zenith Passage may have come about from humble beginnings in a stuffy Los Angeles apartment, but the product thereof is anything BUT humble. Even the earliest demo tracks delivered a relentless torrent of technical guitar work accompanied by a distinctly frenetic and brutal vocal delivery that has since become an unmistakable hallmark in a scene that is all too often the victim of stagnation. Far from being strictly a shredfest, TZP also incorporates a thematic backbone that draws inspiration from the chaotic and awesome destructive powers of our universe. Progressive interludes invoke a palpable sense of abstract dread and reverence for things beyond mortal comprehension. The atmosphere created clearly nods to inspiration drawn from legendary acts such as Deeds of Flesh, Soreption, Fallujah, Severed Savior, and Aeon.
The project's initial offerings generated enough buzz in social media circles alone to convince the duo to double their efforts in earnest, and to begin seeking out members to complete their lineup. The subsequent release of a proper EP in January 2013 (entitled "Cosmic Dissonance") catapulted TZP's recognition to previously unprecedented heights, greatly broadening their fanbase, and catching the attention and admiration of some of California's foremost metal musicians. Not long thereafter, it was announced that Rob Maramonte (ex-Fallujah) would also be stepping in to lend his talents and fill the role of second guitarist. The lineup was complete with the final addition of drummer, Luis Martinez (Oblivion, ex-Antagony).
In the summer of 2013, TZP had the honor of signing on with Unique Leader Records for a multi-album deal. The stage is currently set for TZP to secure their foothold in topmost reaches of the metal pantheon, and they are hard at work churning out new content for their debut full-length. Rest assured, this marks only the beginning. The world has only just set foot onto the passage towards the pinnacle, the apex, the Xenith. BLEGH.

"Doom metal has come a long way since the early work of Candlemass and Witchfinder General. Many a more or less successful fusion has been undertaken, most notably the very successful doom/death mish-mash, but also other mixed class genres have had their successful representatives. Hexer belong to this latter category, since on Cosmic Doom Ritual they nominally play a combination of black and doom metal.
In all honesty, the black metal is quite toned down. There are the odd riffs, and a few faster-paced parts, but there are other genres filtering into the mix that take up a lot more space. The basic musical landscape consists of slow, slow doom metal, with bizarre melodies played on massively down tuned guitars, coupled with stoner and experimental stuff. The distortion is crushing, sometimes generating a noisy industrial vibe. An analogue synthesizer and a pile of effects add a healthy dose of surrealism and atmospheric insanity.
The mostly low tempo doom brings immediate thoughts of Esoteric. Hexer rarely go as slow as the British masters, but with the heavy psychedelia going on almost constantly the connection is still impossible not to make. The German origin and the blackish vocals, complete with a certain desperate sound, also make it difficult to forgo mentioning Bethlehem. These references only go so far, to be sure, because Hexer definitely have their own sound.
To be more concrete, the regular employment of oriental melodies and rhythms mix things up quite a bit, and this reviewer can’t really think of any other doom act that have gone quite this route. A huge bonus is that these influences are supremely well integrated into the music, and not just tacked on in the form of interludes or (shudder) intros. You cannot listen to “Pearl Snake” without forming some vague notion of a Persian belly dancer performing her craft in the middle of the night on a decrepit Ironclad warship, floating on a river of black oil. Or maybe you can, but only if you lack any faculty of imagination.
The album has its ups and downs, as most albums do. Sometimes the heavy experimentation takes over in a way that makes the music lose its way, when it coincides with less melodic passages. There are far worse examples of such meandering, though, and overall Cosmic Doom Ritual holds together nicely. The oppressive atmosphere the album evokes is partly a typically doom metal one, well known from Skepticism and the aforementioned Esoteric, and partly something alien and refreshingly new.

New track from The Zenith Passage entitled 'Holographic Principle II: Convergence,' taken from their upcoming 4/15/2016 release "Solipsist."
It was in early 2012 that a small recording collaboration between two friends (Justin McKinney and Greg Hampton) began to coalesce into something that would prove to be well more than the sum of its parts. The Zenith Passage may have come about from humble beginnings in a stuffy Los Angeles apartment, but the product thereof is anything BUT humble. Even the earliest demo tracks delivered a relentless torrent of technical guitar work accompanied by a distinctly frenetic and brutal vocal delivery that has since become an unmistakable hallmark in a scene that is all too often the victim of stagnation. Far from being strictly a shredfest, TZP also incorporates a thematic backbone that draws inspiration from the chaotic and awesome destructive powers of our universe. Progressive interludes invoke a palpable sense of abstract dread and reverence for things beyond mortal comprehension. The atmosphere created clearly nods to inspiration drawn from legendary acts such as Deeds of Flesh, Soreption, Fallujah, Severed Savior, and Aeon.
The project's initial offerings generated enough buzz in social media circles alone to convince the duo to double their efforts in earnest, and to begin seeking out members to complete their lineup. The subsequent release of a proper EP in January 2013 (entitled "Cosmic Dissonance") catapulted TZP's recognition to previously unprecedented heights, greatly broadening their fanbase, and catching the attention and admiration of some of California's foremost metal musicians. Not long thereafter, it was announced that Rob Maramonte (ex-Fallujah) would also be stepping in to lend his talents and fill the role of second guitarist. The lineup was complete with the final addition of drummer, Luis Martinez (Oblivion, ex-Antagony).
In the summer of 2013, TZP had the honor of signing on with Unique Leader Records for a multi-album deal. The stage is currently set for TZP to secure their foothold in topmost reaches of the metal pantheon, and they are hard at work churning out new content for their debut full-length. Rest assured, this marks only the beginning. The world has only just set foot onto the passage towards the pinnacle, the apex, the Xenith. BLEGH.
