Sameer Dholakia

Chief Executive Officer

Sameer Dholakia has over 20 years of experience in successfully bringing high growth, disruptive cloud and enterprise software solutions to market. Prior to joining SendGrid, he served as Group Vice President and General Manager of the Cloud Platforms group at Citrix, driving the company’s product strategy for cloud infrastructure and server virtualization. Sameer joined the company in 2010, when Citrix acquired VMLogix, where he served as CEO and doubled revenues during each year of his tenure. Prior to that, he worked for 12 years at Trilogy, where he held key leadership roles in sales, business development and product management and helped the company grow from a start-up to a $300 million business. Sameer received Bachelor’s and Master's degrees from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Yancey Spruill

Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer

Yancey Spruill is Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of SendGrid, where he is responsible for financial and operational performance. Yancey’s career has spanned multiple businesses and industries. In his previous roles as an engineer, investment banker, and operating executive of a public company, he successfully directed over $25 billion in capital-raising transactions and acquisitions. Most recently, Yancey served as the CFO of TwentyEighty, a business focused on corporate training and prior to that served as the CFO of DigitalGlobe, where he led the company’s revenue growth from $60 million to over $650 million, and spearheaded its 2009 public offering on the NYSE.

Yancey holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College, where he currently sits on the advisory board to the MBA program.

Scott Heimes

Chief Marketing Officer

Scott Heimes serves as Chief Marketing Officer, where he is responsible for SendGrid’s brand strategy, driving demand for its solutions and leading global marketing operations. Scott oversees corporate marketing, demand generation, corporate communications, partnerships and alliances, international expansion and SendGrid’s community development team. Before joining SendGrid, Scott was the Chief Marketing Officer of Digital River, where he led marketing and demand gen, communications, strategic planning, partnerships and managed Digital River’s marketing services businesses including the company’s direct-response marketing agency and its BlueHornet email service provider. Prior to joining Digital River, Scott was the Chief Marketing Officer for WebMD Health Services, where he ran the company’s marketing, product management, and long-term strategic planning. In prior positions, Scott served as a senior marketing executive at OptumHealth, a UnitedHealth Group company; Target Corporation and Target.com.

Steve Sloan

Chief Product Officer

Steve Sloan is SendGrid’s Chief Product Officer where is he is responsible for leading product strategy, UI/UX, and the development of SendGrid’s product roadmap. Prior to joining SendGrid, Steve led Marketo's global product organization including engineering, product management, UI/UX, developer evangelism and data center operations. While at Marketo, Steve Introduced the company's mobile strategy and next generation technology platform. Previously, Steve worked at Amazon, where he led product management for one of AWS’s emerging services and helped open the Silicon Valley development center.

Steve holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Michael Tognetti

General Counsel, SVP

Michael Tognetti is SendGrid's General Counsel and Vice President. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Notre Dame and a law degree from Harvard Law School. Michael has always worked for high technology companies, starting with his clients at law firms Cooley Godward and Holme Roberts and Owen, to working as in house counsel at Vericept and Decisioneering, the original makers of Crystal Ball software. After Decisioneering was acquired by Hyperion, who was subsequently acquired by Oracle, Michael spent time working with the Crystal Ball global business unit created within Oracle. A Montana native, he enjoys golf, and anything less than 50 rounds a year is failure.

Craig Kaes

VP of Engineering

Craig brings over 15 years experience leading, contributing to, and growing engineering organizations in top SaaS technology companies. Craig joined SendGrid in early 2015 from Cisco where as the Senior Engineering Director, he most recently grew the organization from a small co-located startup to a team of 150 distributed engineers. In his 7 years at Cisco, Craig held multiple Senior Engineering roles across Mobility, Platform, and Messaging focusing on growth and scale while modernizing architectures and processes. Prior to its acquisition by Cisco, Craig successfully grew from Technical Lead to VP of Engineering for Jabber where he was responsible for all of engineering – client (both desktop and mobility), server, and quality assurance.

Laurence Trifon

VP of Revenue

Laurence leads sales, business development, and customer acquisition for SendGrid. Prior to joining SendGrid, Laurence led business development and go-to-market strategy for Bloomspot, Inc., an e-commerce startup that was acquired by Chase Bank in 2012. He was also co-founder of Trifonic Music LLC, a music production and licensing company. Laurence holds a B.A. in Public Policy from Stanford University. Laurence currently resides in Boulder, CO where he enjoys running, hiking, and excellent coffee.
