Jesse /ˈdʒɛs.iː/,Isai or Yishai (Hebrew: יִשַׁי, Modern Yishay, Tiberian Yīšáy, meaning "God exists" or "God's gift"; Arabic: يَسَّى Yassa; Syriac: ܐܝܫܝ Eshai; Greek: Ἰεσσαί Iessai; Latin: Isai, Jesse) is the father of David, who became the king of the Israelites. His son David is sometimes called simply "Son of Jesse" (Ben Yishai).
Jesse was the son of Obed and the grandson of Ruth and of Boaz. He lived in Bethlehem, in Judah, and was of the Tribe of Judah, he was a farmer, breeder and owner of sheep. He was a prominent resident of the town of Bethlehem. Jesse is important in Judaism because he was the father of the most famous King of Israel. He is important in Christianity, in part because he is in the Old Testament and mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus. Later rabbinic traditions name him as one of four ancient Israelites who died without sin, the other three being Benjamin, Chileab and Amram.
Jesse Bromwich is a professional rugby league footballer for the Melbourne Storm of the National Rugby League. A New Zealand national representative front-row forward, he has played his entire NRL career to date with the Storm, with whom he won the 2012 NRL Premiership and the 2010 and 2013 World Club Challenges. He is the older brother of Kenneath Bromwich who also plays for the Melbourne Storm.

All of his junior career was spent in Auckland, being an Auckland Sea lions NJC under 18s grand finalist and Auckland Rugby League under 18s grand finalist in 2006, playing with the Auckland Metro under 18s in 2007 and playing for the Auckland Māori in both 2007 and 2008. In 2007 he played representative football for the New Zealand Māori under 18’s side. Andrew Johns lashes Canberra Raiders star Josh Hodgson over Jesse Bromwich tackle ANDREW Johns has called for Canberra’s star hooker Josh Hodgson to be suspended after a tackle on Jesse Bromwich that the eighth Immortal labelled a “cheap shot”. As he has done all season, Hodgson was hugely influential as the Raiders declared themselves premiership contenders with one of the club’s best ever wins over the top of the table Storm. However, Ricky Stuart’s side could be without the livewire English rake after he was penalised, but not placed on report, for a tackle on the Kiwi prop that looked very dangerous. Struggling to put Bromwich on his back to slow the play the ball down, Hodgson grabbed Bromwich by the head and twisted it into a very unnatural position. Click on the player at the to...

Like us on facebook http://fb.com/rugbyf New Zealand Kiwis claim third straight win over Australian Kangaroos for first time since 1953 Australian Kangaroos v New Zealand Kiwis A new-look Aussie side prepares to host a very familiar-looking Kiwi outfit for the traditional mid-year Test in a fixture that threatens to deviate from the usual script. The Kiwis have struggled badly in the one-off mid-season Test over the years, winning just once – the second fixture, back in 1998 – and losing 14. A usually-settled Kangaroos side, with the benefit of club and Origin combinations, has frequently proved too strong for Kiwi outfits that often feature players with little experience playing alongside each other. Not so this time; the Kiwis are boosted by most of their Four Nations-winning squad b...

Schick Hydro Preview: Australian Kangaroos v New Zealand Kiwis NIB Stadium Sunday, 4.50pm (Local), 7.50pm (AEDT) The new-look Kangaroos and Kiwis get a feel for their overhauled squads when they clash at NIB Stadium in Perth on Saturday. Injuries, form, availability, age and retirement ensure Australia's game-day 17 will look rather different to when the two nations met in Newcastle in May's trans-Tasman Test – a dour affair won 16-0 by the green and golds. Both Aussie coach Mal Meninga and new Kiwis clipboard-holder David Kidwell have selected something like a 'best' 17 from their wider squads, allowing for the fact that Kangaroos prop Aaron Woods and winger Josh Mansour are unavailable this weekend due to their respective weddings. For the Aussies, Corey Parker, Paul Gallen, Josh McG...
