Welcome to Crimson Guitars, http://www.crimsonguitars.com. This is what happened when Mike Dunn, Business Development Manager from Guitar Galleries in Scarborough visited the Crimson Guitars workshop.
The purpose of this visit was to choose the woods and specifications for a number of Crimson's new range of Artist and One Series to be built to stock Guitar Galleries new shop in Scarborough. http://www.guitar-galleries.co.uk/
This visit happened a while ago and the guitars have already been finished ( which will be video 2 in this short series) and delivered (video 3).
We will be showing you demos of all the finished guitars, played by Toby James. And are very pleased to say that some of these guitars have already found new homes. But please check out the Guitar Galleries website and shop to see which ones are still for sale.

The guitar is a plucked string instrument, usually played with fingers or a pick. The guitar consists of a body with a rigid neck to which the strings, generally six in number, are attached. Guitars are traditionally constructed of various woods and strung with animal gut or, more recently, with either nylon or steel strings. Some modern guitars are made of polycarbonate materials. Guitars are made and repaired by luthiers. There are two primary families of guitars: acoustic and electric.
Acoustic guitars (and similar instruments) with hollow bodies have been in use for over a thousand years. There are three main types of modern acoustic guitar: the classical guitar (nylon-string guitar), the steel-string acoustic guitar, and the archtop guitar. The tone of an acoustic guitar is produced by the vibration of the strings, which is amplified by the body of the guitar, which acts as a resonating chamber. The classical guitar is often played as a solo instrument using a comprehensive fingerpicking technique.

Lester William Polsfuss (June 9, 1915 – August 13, 2009)—known as Les Paul—was an American jazz and country guitarist, songwriter and inventor. He was the inventor of the solid-body electric guitar which made the sound of rock and roll possible. He is credited with many recording innovations. Although he was not the first to use the technique, his early experiments with overdubbing (also known as sound on sound),delay effects such as tape delay, phasing effects and multitrack recording were among the first to attract widespread attention.
His innovative talents extended into his playing style, including licks, trills, chording sequences, fretting techniques and timing, which set him apart from his contemporaries and inspired many guitarists of the present day. He recorded with his wife Mary Ford in the 1950s, and they sold millions of records.
Among his many honors, Paul is one of a handful of artists with a permanent, stand-alone exhibit in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is prominently named by the music museum on its website as an "architect" and a "key inductee" along with Sam Phillips and Alan Freed.

Prelude & Fugue in C Minor (BWV 549) for Mandolin & Guitars
This Prelude and Fugue in C minor probably dates to the earlier part of Bach's years in Arnstadt, where he served as the organist at the Neue Kirche. The work likely came before for his intense study of the music of Buxtehude, an activity he commenced in 1705. While not as well-crafted as many of the later Preludes and Fugues, this one is nevertheless rewarding for the listener, not least for the composer's trademark brilliant contrapuntal writing. The Prelude half of the work begins in a rather austere mood, the theme presented in the lower register, its contour tilting mostly downward. The music here foreshadows the opening of the famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565, replete with a similar three-note idea permeating the first measures. My hunt for the perfect lefty guitars has lead me to... Warmoth!
In this video, I will be talking about my top-of-the- line guitars. I assembled both myself using high quality Warmoth guitar parts and other premium accessories. The first guitar is Woody. The second guitar is Tiger. Although they look almost alike, they have different voices. One more thing I did not mention in the video is both guitars are installed with Super-Vee Blade-Runner tremolo bridge that are sure to keep guitars in tune despite whatever whammy abuse you subject your guitars to.

This Prelude and Fugue in C minor probably dates to the earlier part of Bach's years in Arnstadt, where he served as the organist at the Neue Kirche. The work l...
This Prelude and Fugue in C minor probably dates to the earlier part of Bach's years in Arnstadt, where he served as the organist at the Neue Kirche. The work likely came before for his intense study of the music of Buxtehude, an activity he commenced in 1705. While not as well-crafted as many of the later Preludes and Fugues, this one is nevertheless rewarding for the listener, not least for the composer's trademark brilliant contrapuntal writing.
The Prelude half of the work begins in a rather austere mood, the theme presented in the lower register, its contour tilting mostly downward. The music here foreshadows the opening of the famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565, replete with a similar three-note idea permeating the first measures. The mood brightens a bit when the writing enters higher ranges, the music becoming somewhat stately but still not quite dispelling its somber character. The Fugue begins quietly and modestly, building energetically from skeletal, unassuming textures at the outset to meatier but still lean sonorities in the latter portions. The mood here does not substantially break from the darkness and seriousness of the opening, though the mixture of brilliance and busyness, of rhythmic and persevering drive in the writing imparts a resolute, triumphant sense, especially in the glorious ending. This Prelude and Fugue in C minor typically lasts just over five minutes.
