Mirza Tahir Ahmad مرزا طاہراحمد (December 18, 1928 -- April 19, 2003) was Khalifatul Masih IV, Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and fourth successor to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. He was elected as Caliph on June 10, 1982, the day after the death of his predecessor, Mirza Nasir Ahmad.In 1974, he was nominated as a member of the Ahmadiyya delegation which appeared before the Parliament of Pakistan to defend the beliefs of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. As Khalifatul Masih IV, Tahir Ahmad attended the 100th Annual Jalsa Salana (annual gathering) being held in Qadian, India in 1991. It was the first time an Ahmadiyya Caliph had returned to Qadian since the partition of India occurred in 1947 when the community relocated from India to Pakistan.
Tahir Ahmad is perhaps best known for his "Question & Answers" sessions. During his Caliphate, the community experienced structural and financial growth including the launch of the first Muslim satellite television network, Muslim Television Ahmadiyya, in 1994.The Majlis Intikhab Khilafat (Electoral College), convened at Mubarik Mosque in Rabwah, Pakistan elected Mirza Tahir Ahmad as the fourth successor to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and head of the community on June 10, 1982.After taking office, Tahir Ahmad worked to restore the Community with a new passion. Ordinance XX, the anti-Ahmadiyya legislature passed by General Zia ul Haq's government on April 26, 1984, compelled him to leave Pakistan immediately. Thus he left Rabwah nowdays known as Chenab Nagar, the headquarter of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Pakistan on the early morning of April 28th 1984 with his family accompanied by some senior members of the community.
Mirza Tahir Ahmad died on April 19, 2003 at 9:30 am GMT in London, England from heart failure. Tahir Ahmad's body was taken to Islamabad, Tilford where he was buried on the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's property. His successor Mirza Masroor Ahmad as the Khalifatul Masih V, led the funeral prayer. The service was held at on April 24, 2003 at 2:00 p.m, attended by over 40,000 people from around the world.
General Zia ul Haq, Pakistan's Dictator in the 1980s made life a living hell for Pakistani Ahmadis. He introduced the infamous Ordinance XX that criminalized the daily lives of Ahmadis around the country. Thousands were rounded up. Many Ahmadi businesses were burnt down, people killed or forced to leave. The fourth Khalifa of the community, who miraculously emigrated under these conditions, warned Zia of the wrath of God if he did not stop persecuting his citizens. Mirza Tahir Ahmad (Urdu: مرزا طاہراحمد) (18 December 1928 – 19 April 2003) was Khalifatul Masih IV (Arabic: 'khalīfatul masīh al-rābi ,خليفة المسيح الرابع) and the head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Ahmad, Ahmed or Ahmet are the principal transliterations of an Arabic given name, أحمد.
Etymology
Ahmad comes from the Arabic triconsonantal root of Ḥ-M-D, meaning "highly praised", which in turn implies "one who constantly thanks God." Several Arabic names are derived from this root word.
The name Ahmad has its origins in a prophecy attributed to Jesus, in the Quran in Surah 61: As-Saff (The Ranks). Some Muslim scholars see the names parallel in the word 'Paraclete' in the biblical text. This view is not universal considering translations, meanings and etymology.

Mirza
Mirza (/ˈmɜːrzə/ or /mɪəˈzɑː/) is a historical title of Persian origin, denoting the rank of a high nobleman or Prince. It is usually defined in English as a royal or imperial Prince of the Blood.
Today, Mirza is used as a name to identify patriarchal lineage to royal aristocracies of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Indian Subcontinent. Historically, it was used as a title by and signified patriarchal lineage to the imperial families of the Turkish Empire, Persia, Circassia, Shirvan, Mughals (aka Moguls) and Muslim Rajputs. It was also a title bestowed upon members of the highest aristocracies in Tatar states, such as the Khanates of Kazan and Astrakhan.
Under Catherine the Great, empress of Russia, the Mirzas gained equal rights with the Russian nobility due to their extreme wealth. In return, the Mirzas financed her Russo-Turkish war against the Ottoman Empire. Abdul Mirza was given the title Prince Yusupov, and his descendant Prince Felix Yusupov married a niece of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia.

Questions will be welcomed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirza Tahir Ahmad مرزا طاہراحمد (December 18, 1928 -- April 19, 2003) was Khalifatul Masih IV, Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and fourth successor to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. He was elected as Caliph on June 10, 1982, the day after the death of his predecessor, Mirza Nasir Ahmad.In 1974, he was nominated as a member of the Ahmadiyya delegation which appeared before the Parliament of Pakistan to defend the beliefs of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. As Khalifatul Masih IV, Tahir Ahmad attended the 100th Annual Jalsa Salana (annual gathering) being held in Qadian, India in 1991. It was the first time an Ahmadiyya Caliph had returned to Qadian since the partition of India occurred in 1947 when the community relocated from India to Pakistan. Tahir Ahmad is perhaps best known for his "Question & Answers" sessions. During his Caliphate, the community experienced structural and financial growth including the launch of the first Muslim satellite television network, Muslim Television Ahmadiyya, in 1994.The Majlis Intikhab Khilafat (Electoral College), convened at Mubarik Mosque in Rabwah, Pakistan elected Mirza Tahir Ahmad as the fourth successor to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and head of the community on June 10, 1982.After taking office, Tahir Ahmad worked to restore the Community with a new passion. Ordinance XX, the anti-Ahmadiyya legislature passed by General Zia ul Haq's government on April 26, 1984, compelled him to leave Pakistan immediately. Thus he left Rabwah nowdays known as Chenab Nagar, the headquarter of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Pakistan on the early morning of April 28th 1984 with his family accompanied by some senior members of the community. Mirza Tahir Ahmad died on April 19, 2003 at 9:30 am GMT in London, England from heart failure. Tahir Ahmad's body was taken to Islamabad, Tilford where he was buried on the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's property. His successor Mirza Masroor Ahmad as the Khalifatul Masih V, led the funeral prayer. The service was held at on April 24, 2003 at 2:00 p.m, attended by over 40,000 people from around the world. -

General Zia ul Haq, Pakistan's Dictator in the 1980s made life a living hell for Pakistani Ahmadis. He introduced the infamous Ordinance XX that criminalized the daily lives of Ahmadis around the country. Thousands were rounded up. Many Ahmadi businesses were burnt down, people killed or forced to leave. The fourth Khalifa of the community, who miraculously emigrated under these conditions, warned Zia of the wrath of God if he did not stop persecuting his citizens. During his Caliphate, the community experienced structural and financial growth including the launch of the first Muslim satellite television network, Muslim Television Ahmadiyya, in 1994.The Majlis Intikhab Khilafat (Electoral College), convened at Mubarik Mosque in Rabwah, Pakistan elected Mirza Tahir Ahmad as the fourth successor to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and head of the community on June 10, 1982.After taking office, Tahir Ahmad worked to restore the Community with a new passion. Ordinance XX, the anti-Ahmadiyya legislature passed by General Zia ul Haq's government on April 26, 1984, compelled him to leave Pakistan immediately. Thus he left Rabwah nowdays known as Chenab Nagar, the headquarter of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Pakistan on the early morning of April 28th 1984 with his family accompanied by some senior members of the community.

Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad(rh) is a person I have too much love for, and I was tired of this allegation being raised by people. It was also getting a lot of views on youtube, so I decided to respond. May Allah Guide these misguided people to the true Islam.

Mirza Tahir Ahmad مرزا طاہراحمد (December 18, 1928 -- April 19, 2003) was Khalifatul Masih IV, Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and fourth successor to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. He was elected as Caliph on June 10, 1982, the day after the death of his predecessor, Mirza Nasir Ahmad.In 1974, he was nominated as a member of the Ahmadiyya delegation which appeared before the Parliament of Pakistan to defend the beliefs of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. As Khalifatul Masih IV, Tahir Ahmad attended the 100th Annual Jalsa Salana (annual gathering) being held in Qadian, India in 1991. It was the first time an Ahmadiyya Caliph had returned to Qadian since the partition of India occurred in 1947 when the community relocated from India to Pakistan.
Tahir Ahmad is perhaps best known for his "Question & Answers" sessions. During his Caliphate, the community experienced structural and financial growth including the launch of the first Muslim satellite television network, Muslim Television Ahmadiyya, in 1994.The Majlis Intikhab Khilafat (Electoral College), convened at Mubarik Mosque in Rabwah, Pakistan elected Mirza Tahir Ahmad as the fourth successor to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and head of the community on June 10, 1982.After taking office, Tahir Ahmad worked to restore the Community with a new passion. Ordinance XX, the anti-Ahmadiyya legislature passed by General Zia ul Haq's government on April 26, 1984, compelled him to leave Pakistan immediately. Thus he left Rabwah nowdays known as Chenab Nagar, the headquarter of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Pakistan on the early morning of April 28th 1984 with his family accompanied by some senior members of the community.
Mirza Tahir Ahmad died on April 19, 2003 at 9:30 am GMT in London, England from heart failure. Tahir Ahmad's body was taken to Islamabad, Tilford where he was buried on the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's property. His successor Mirza Masroor Ahmad as the Khalifatul Masih V, led the funeral prayer. The service was held at on April 24, 2003 at 2:00 p.m, attended by over 40,000 people from around the world.

He was elected as Caliph on June 10, 1982, the day after the death of his predecessor, Mirza Nasir Ahmad.In 1974, he was nominated as a member of the Ahmadiyya delegation which appeared before the Parliament of Pakistan to defend the beliefs of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
