Andrew Saunders (22 September 1931 – 13 March 2009) was an internationally recognised expert in artillery fortifications and Chief Inspector of Ancient Monuments and Historic Buildings in the UK between 1973 and 1989.
Andrew Saunders was born at St Austell, Cornwall, on 22 September 1931. He was educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford, which was followed by his National Service in the RAF. On returning to civilian life Saunders read History at Magdalen College. During his time at university Saunders was president of the Archaeology Society and enjoyed rugby and rowing for his college.
Saunders joined the Ancient Monuments Inspectorate in 1954 where his work revolved around the conservation and guardianship of castles and monastic buildings. He also took part in archaeological excavations such as that at Castle Gotha near St Austell. As part of his work, in 1956 he carried out a rapid assessment of the mainly 19th-century fortifications vacated that year by the army with the abolition of Coastal Artillery. The report Saunders submitted lead to the decision to take into care certain important examples of military architecture such as Fort Brockhurst and the Western Heights at Dover. The survey started what became a lifelong specialisation of Saunders' work in the study of artillery fortification.
Andy Saunders is an English author and researcher from East Sussex who specializes in military aviation history with particular emphasis on the Battle of Britain and the air war over north-west Europe between 1939 and 1945. He is currently Editor of 'Britain at War' magazine, Key Publishing.
He regularly contributes to the world’s aviation press on military history topics and has also written for national newspapers, including “The Mail on Sunday”.
He was also a programme consultant for the Discovery History series “War Digs With Harry Harris” and is currently involved in a number of projected television documentaries for various production companies working as contributor, researcher or consultant.
In 2001, he pleaded guilty to offences under the Protection of Military Remains Act after recovering the aircraft of Flying Officer George Edward Kosh, a typhoon fighter which crashed in 1944 in East Sussex, without a licence.
In 2005 he was the principal contributor and consultant for the Channel 4 documentary “Who Downed Douglas Bader” (Wildfire TV) and more recently has had input to BBC Timewatch programmes (including “Aces Falling”) and to various BBC “Inside Out” programmes as well as “The One Show”, and "Fake Britain".
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) is the third-largest international comedy festival in the world and the largest cultural event in Australia. Established in 1987, it takes place annually in Melbourne over four weeks, typically starting in March and running through to April. The Melbourne Town Hall has served as the festival hub since the early 1990s, but performances are held in venues throughout the city.
The MICF plays host to hundreds of local and international artists; in 2014 the festival listed 469 shows, 6,488 performances (including 159 free performances) by 2,228 artists. Although it is mainly a vehicle for stand-up and cabaret acts, the festival has also included sketch shows, plays, improvisational theatre, debates, musical shows and art exhibitions. The televised Gala is one of the festival's flagship event, showcasing short performances from many headline and award-winning comics. Other popular events include The Great Debate, a televised comedy debate, the Opening Night Super Show, and Upfront, a night of performances exclusively featuring female comedians.
Ray Ray is the second studio album by American recording artist Raphael Saadiq, released October 5, 2004, on his record label Pookie Entertainment. After being dropped from Universal Records, Saadiq formed the label and worked on the album, for which he sought looser, 1970s-inspired direction than his debut album Instant Vintage (2002). He produced Ray Ray with Michael Angelo, Jake and the Phatman, and Kelvin Wooten.
Titled after Saadiq's childhood nickname, Ray Ray has a looser, more conventional style than his debut album and incorporates funk. Its groove-oriented songs exhibit Saadiq's characteristic fusion of programmed beats, strings, neo soul melodies, and live guitar. They are arranged in a song cycle and touch on lighthearted romantic themes and socially conscious messages.
The album debuted at number 86 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, but fell off the next week. Upon its release, Ray Ray received generally positive reviews from music critics. Although some were ambivalent towards its loose blaxploitation concept and Saadiq's songwriting, critics praised the album's production quality and vintage musical approach. It is currently out of print.

You lift me up you bring me down
I twist and turn you spin me round
Oh you got me
You take me high when I am low
You give me space and room to grow
Oh you got me
Chorus:
I cant stop thinking about you
The things you say, the things that you do
As long as I live i'll be there for you
I've no doubt, cause our love is true
You hold me near when I'm away
And every night and every day
Oh I want you
Without you there the sun don't shine
The stars don't glow and nothing rhymes
Oh I want you
Repeat Chorus
You give me a reason to survive
You make me up I feel alive
Oh you got me
I cant sit still can't concentrate
I need you so I just can't wait
Oh you got me
Repeat Chorus
