Joe Dante
Joseph James "Joe" Dante, Jr. (/ˈdɑːnteɪ/; born November 28, 1946) is an American film director, producer, editor and actor. His films—notably Gremlins (1984)—often mix fantastical storylines with comedic elements.
Dante's films include Piranha (1978) and The Howling (1981) (both from scripts by John Sayles), Gremlins (1984) and its sequel (1990), Explorers (1985), Innerspace (1987), The 'Burbs (1989), Matinee (1993), Small Soldiers (1998), and Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003). His work for television and cable includes immigration satire The Second Civil War (1997) and episodes of anthology series Masters of Horror (Homecoming and The Screwfly Solution) and Amazing Stories, as well as Hawaii Five-0.
Early life and career
Dante was born in Morristown, New Jersey and grew up in nearby Livingston. His father, Joseph James Dante, was a professional golfer, though Dante was more interested in becoming a cartoonist. Dante began his film career working for legendary low budget producer Roger Corman, who provided similar opportunities to future directors Francis Ford Coppola and James Cameron. He worked as an editor on Grand Theft Auto after co-directing Hollywood Boulevard with Allan Arkush.

Kevin A. McCarthy
Kevin A. McCarthy (born 1950) is a former Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 37th District from 1997 to 2011. The district includes all of Orland Hills, portions of Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Forest and unincorporated Frankfort Square. McCarthy resigned from office in December 2011.

Long Island Rail Road massacre
The Long Island Rail Road massacre was a mass murder that resulted in Colin Ferguson (born January 14, 1958) being convicted of murdering six people and injuring nineteen others on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) in Garden City, New York.
On December 7, 1993, as a LIRR train pulled into the Merillon Avenue station, Ferguson pulled out his gun and started firing at passengers. He killed six and wounded nineteen before being stopped by three of the passengers: Kevin Blum, Mark McEntee, and Mike O'Connor. Ferguson's trial was notable for a number of unusual developments, including his firing of his defense counsel and insisting on representing himself and questioning his own victims on the stand.
On February 17, 1995, Ferguson was convicted of the 6 murders. He was also convicted of attempted murder for wounding nineteen passengers. As of 2015, he is serving his sentence of 315 years and 8 months to life at the Upstate Correctional Facility in Franklin County, New York.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy predicts that Donald Trump’s nomination of Matt Gaetz as attorney general will be rejected by the Republican Senate.
Gaetz, the subject of a House inquiry into sexual misconduct allegations, promptly resigned from Congress, effectively ending that investigation because he is no longer a sitting member of the chamber. Gaetz has denied wrongdoing.

Joseph James "Joe" Dante, Jr. (/ˈdɑːnteɪ/; born November 28, 1946) is an American film director, producer, editor and actor. His films—notably Gremlins (1984)—often mix fantastical storylines with comedic elements.
Dante's films include Piranha (1978) and The Howling (1981) (both from scripts by John Sayles), Gremlins (1984) and its sequel (1990), Explorers (1985), Innerspace (1987), The 'Burbs (1989), Matinee (1993), Small Soldiers (1998), and Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003). His work for television and cable includes immigration satire The Second Civil War (1997) and episodes of anthology series Masters of Horror (Homecoming and The Screwfly Solution) and Amazing Stories, as well as Hawaii Five-0.
Early life and career
Dante was born in Morristown, New Jersey and grew up in nearby Livingston. His father, Joseph James Dante, was a professional golfer, though Dante was more interested in becoming a cartoonist. Dante began his film career working for legendary low budget producer Roger Corman, who provided similar opportunities to future directors Francis Ford Coppola and James Cameron. He worked as an editor on Grand Theft Auto after co-directing Hollywood Boulevard with Allan Arkush.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy predicts that Donald Trump’s nomination of Matt Gaetz as attorney general will be rejected by the Republican Senate.
Gaetz, the subject of a House inquiry into sexual misconduct allegations, promptly resigned from Congress, effectively ending that investigation because he is no longer a sitting member of the chamber. Gaetz has denied wrongdoing.
Kevin McCarthy gives his take on the matter to Bloomberg's Haslinda Amin. They spoke on the sidelines of the annual Barclays Asia Forum in Singapore

Starting out too late giving up too soon;
Coming home to coffee and a trashy book;
Never paying any mind if things were never done on
Time was when a fella could just let time slip away;
No worries car or telephone just rent and food to pay;
And every night with single buddies boozing at the bar,
Living for the minute, taking every hour in it!
But now there's just too much to do in any given day;
The car phone the kiddies shoes too many bills to pay;
Running from the crack of dawn 'til Knowlton reads the news,
And falling into bed too wiped to even kiss the wife good night.
Oh, oh, oh... just another working Joe.
The baby's in the Swingomatic, singing Rock and Roll;
My Sweetie's in the kitchen, whipping up my favourite casserole.
I knocked off work at ten o'clock, the kids are still at school.
The coffee pot is perking... to hell with bloody working.
Oh, it sure is sweet to sit at home and let time slip away,
Through tomorrow I'll be scratching through another working day;
But when I start to come apart from all the things to do,
I know that I'll be taking soon another lazy winter afternoon.
