Acapulco
Acapulco de Juárez (Spanish: [akaˈpulko de ˈxwaɾes]), commonly called Acapulco, is a city, municipality and major seaport in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific coast of Mexico, 380 kilometres (240 mi) southwest from Mexico City. Acapulco is located on a deep, semi-circular bay and has been a port since the early colonial period of Mexico's history. It is a port of call for shipping and cruise lines running between Panama and San Francisco, California, United States. The city of Acapulco is the largest in the state, far larger than the state capital Chilpancingo. Acapulco is also Mexico's largest beach and balneario resort city.
The city is best known as one of Mexico's oldest and most well-known beach resorts, which came into prominence in the 1950s as a getaway for Hollywood stars and millionaires. Acapulco is still famous and still attracts many tourists, although most are now from Mexico itself. The resort area is divided into two: The north end of the bay is the "traditional" area, where the famous in the mid-20th century vacationed; and the south end is dominated by newer luxury high-rise hotels.

Los Yonic's
Los Yonic's (or Los Yonics) are a Mexican pop group formed in the 1970s.
Los Yonic's began playing together in San Luis Pedro but later moved to Acapulco, playing both tropical pop music and ballads. Their music became very popular among American Hispanics in cities such as Los Angeles, San Jose, Phoenix, Arizona, and El Paso. They had a string of #1 albums on the Billboard Regional Mexican charts in the 1980s, and have continued to enjoy chart success on the American market since.

Nowadays, the golden arc of beaches surrounding Bahía de Acapulco remains as gorgeous as ever, but the city's reputation has been severely tarnished by years of violent incidents in Mexico's ongoing drug wars. Many tourists are staying away, and locals have initiated an all-out campaign to bring them back. The city's new slogan, plastered on billboards all over town, is 'Habla bien de ACA,' a play on words that can mean, 'Speak well of this place,' or 'Speak well of Acapulco.' Graffiti on the local buses also makes overt reference to the damage to normal people's livelihoods caused by the drug trade.

Known as the Pearl Of The Pacific, Acapulco is a world famous holiday resort of the rich and famous where luxury liners dock each day and endless golden sands beckon a swim under the Caribbean sun. Each evening, the famous cliff jumpers of Acapulco congregate when, from a height of 42 metres, they jump fearlessly from the top of the La Quebrada Cliff into the narrow bay below. In the legendary ruins of Palenque, numerous monuments of the Maya culture can be found such as a palace, and several pyramids and temples. From the air, there is a unique view of the lush growth of the impenetrable forests around Palenque, and of Mexico’s most beautiful waterfalls of Agua Azul. Chichen Itza is thought to have been built by the Mayas around 450 AD and over 500 years later the fighting TOLTEKEN took over the deserted city, which led to two hundred years of prosperity. Located in the north, Tequila is situated at the foot of the likewise named volcano and is world famous because it is here that the Mexican national drink is produced. But Mexico is much more than a drink…it is a feast for all the senses!

Known as the Pearl Of The Pacific, Acapulco is a world famous holiday resort of the rich and famous where luxury liners dock each day and endless golden sands beckon a swim under the Caribbean sun. Each evening, the famous cliff jumpers of Acapulco congregate when, from a height of 42 metres, they jump fearlessly from the top of the La Quebrada Cliff into the narrow bay below. In the legendary ruins of Palenque, numerous monuments of the Maya culture can be found such as a palace, and several pyramids and temples. From the air, there is a unique view of the lush growth of the impenetrable forests around Palenque, and of Mexico’s most beautiful waterfalls of Agua Azul. Chichen Itza is thought to have been built by the Mayas around 450 AD and over 500 years later the fighting TOLTEKEN took over the deserted city, which led to two hundred years of prosperity. Located in the north, Tequila is situated at the foot of the likewise named volcano and is world famous because it is here that the Mexican national drink is produced. But Mexico is much more than a drink…it is a feast for all the senses!

Hello I am interested in taking a 2 nite trip to Acapulco, I am a single 55 year old gay man that wants to
chill, have cerevesa on and meet friends on Playa Condessa (the gay beach). So I am looking for a place that's gay friendly in case I want to have a guest.

Of the gay hotels, the one that's received the most attention is Casa Condesa, which is two blocks from the beach. From what I can see the rates are well within your range and the ranking is close to five stars. Another option is Las Torres Gamelas, but it only ranks at 3 stars.
I've pasted in a review of Casa Condesa from Trip Advisor.
The hottest months are between June to October and the humidity can be unbearable.
There is also the risk of hurricanes. The best months to go are from December to April when there is little
rain. The down side will be higher prices.
Note that there's been an increase in violence in Acapulco in recent years. There is drug violence outside
of the city so I don't recommend going there. The drug violence is also in the city, too, though most of
that doesn't affect tourists. I recommend staying in well-lit areas and to be around large groups of
people. Whatever you do, don't get take drugs from anyone, nor try to buy any, either.
