Laurence T. "Larry" Fessenden (born March 23, 1963) is an American actor, producer, writer, director, film editor, and cinematographer. He has starred in films such as The Last Winter (2006), I Can See You (2008), Bitter Feast (2010), You're Next (2011), and We Are Still Here (2015). His screenwriting efforts include Habit (1997), Wendigo (2001), and The Last Winter (2006), all of which he also directed. He has also directed Beneath (2013), and a segment of the anthology horror comedy film The ABCs of Death 2 (2014).
Larry Fessenden was born in New York City, New York. Fessenden comes from a privileged background: his father was a banker, and Fessenden attended St. Bernard's School, then Phillips Academy, from which he was expelled. He is married to Beck Underwood and the couple has one child.
Fessenden has operated the production company Glass Eye Pix since 1985. Fessenden was influenced by the old Universal Monsters.
An actor, screenwriter, director and film editor, he has worked, in addition to feature films, on such television projects as the NBC horror anthology Fear Itself (2008), directing the episode "Skin and Bones". He wrote the screenplay of Orphanage (2007) with Guillermo del Toro, an English-language remake of El Orfanato.
Larry is a masculine given name in English, derived from Lawrence, Laurence or Laraib. It can be a shortened form of those names.
Larry may refer to the following:
The Last may refer to:
Ronald N. "Ron" Perlman (born April 13, 1950) is an American actor and voice actor. He is best known for his roles as Vincent in the television series Beauty and the Beast (for which he won a Golden Globe), as the comic book character Hellboy in both 2004's Hellboy and its 2008 sequel Hellboy II: The Golden Army, and as Clarence "Clay" Morrow in television series Sons of Anarchy.
Perlman is also well known as a frequent collaborator of Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro, also having roles in his films Cronos, Blade II, and Pacific Rim. He is also known for his voice-over work as the narrator of the post-apocalyptic game series Fallout, Clayface in Batman: The Animated Series, Slade in the animated series Teen Titans, The Lich in Adventure Time, The Stabbington Brothers in Disney's animated film Tangled, and as the narrator of the television series 1000 Ways to Die.
Perlman was born in Washington Heights, New York. His mother, Dorothy (Rosen), was a municipal employee, and his father, Bertram "Bert" Perlman, was a jazz drummer and repairman. Perlman stated in a 1988 interview that "It was not a bad childhood but...I had a perception of myself that was, I was terribly overweight as a young kid, and it was sort of a low self image." Perlman continued to say that this experience is one thing that attracts him to "playing these sorts of deformed people who are very endearing."
Glass Eye Pix is an independent film studio based in New York City, headed by producer Larry Fessenden since 1985.
Fessenden created the company to copyright his own films. The name came from a glass eye one of Fessenden's friends gave to him. The company eventually grew to encompass others' works as Fessenden began to mentor younger filmmakers.
Glass Eye Pix has produced films in and out of the horror genre, including 2012's The Comedy (Rick Alverson), 2011's The Innkeepers (Ti West), 2009's Wendy and Lucy, 2009's The House of the Devil (Ti West) and 2008’s Liberty Kid (Ilya Chaiken).
Glass Eye Pix's low-budget horror banner, Scareflix, was designed to create lean budgeted, auteur-driven films from new directors. Scareflix productions include Glenn McQuaid’s I Sell the Dead, Ti West's The Roost and Trigger Man, James Felix McKenney's Automatons and The Off Season, and I Can See You and The Viewer by Graham Reznick.
In collaboration with Dark Sky Films, Fessenden and partners Peter Phok and Brent Kunkle also produced Scareflix films Bitter Feast (Joe Maggio),Stake Land (Jim Mickle — winner of the Audience Award at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival's Midnight Madness), and Hypothermia (James Felix McKenney).

From the societal upheavals of the 1960's to the not-all-that-more-quiescent twenty-first century, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD has managed to chill the blood of horror lovers everywhere and simultaneously cast an unsettling light on the media, racial politics, and the American way of life in general. Now there's a new documentary, BIRTH OF THE LIVING DEAD, that uses clips, interviews, and some evocative animation by artist Gary Pullin to not only tell the tale of how George Romero and crew took a shoestring budget and managed to create a film the rewrote the rules of horror, but also explore how this humble tale of the walking dead still manages to resonate today. Cinefantastique Online's Dan Persons sits down with BIRTH's Executive Producer Larry Fessenden and director Rob Kuhns to talk abo...

Kenneth Eng has made a documentary about his father’s story called My Life in China. Yau King Eng fled China’s Cultural Revolution in 1966. After risking his life to get to America, he started a family in Boston. But when his restaurant went bankrupt and his wife mom sick, he began to feel like he’d failed at the American Dream. My Life in China is a story of migration passed down from father to son; the film attempts to retrace the precarious steps Ken’s father took in search of a better life. Ultimately asking the question, what does it mean to be both Chinese and American? The film has recently streamed on America Reframed and is currently available on iTunes. Jack Fessenden, 17 years old, has been making short films for years now. Making them is an understatement. He writes, dire...

Larry Fessenden retrospective The many hats of Larry Fessenden One of the busiest dudes working in the horror genre, Larry Fessenden is an actor, writer, director & producer. On this special episode of The Horror Movie Show, hosts Jerry & Mark wax rhapsodic about several of Larry’s movies. Three movies in which Larry acts — Jug Face, You’re Next & We Are What We Are — made HMPod‘s Top 10 list for 2013. A brief review of each movie begins this retrospective. As producer & director, Larry’s new flick Beneath is a good, old-fashioned creature feature about a gigantic hungry fish in a very small pond, feasting upon the disloyal bodies of naughty teenagers. Larry’s production studio, Glass Eye Pix, has made at least one movie that is not horror, but will make some viewers squirm reg...
I'm not a movie uploader, it's not what I do. But, I really like this movie, and I feel it's a shame not many people know of it. I consider this movie, and The Addiction (1995) with Lili Taylor, as the best modern-day, REALISTIC vampire movies. As of now, I believe The Addiction is also uploaded on YouTube, so go check it out through any means necessary, even if not on here. Both movies have many similarities, having that real eerie, indie movie feel, coming out around the same time, taking place in New York City, and being great allegories to drug or alcohol addiction.
Forget the teaser trailer and the full feature. Have you seen the first official still from Ted Geoghegan’s feature directorial debut, We Are Still Here? (It's on the right.) That image alone proves it’s one heck of a splatter film. The story centers on Paul (Andrew Sensenig) and Anne (Barbara Crampton). After their son is killed in a car crash, they opt to get away from it all and move to a house in the New England countryside. Trouble is, they don't move into just any old house. They move into one with an especially dark and sinister history. While in Austin for SXSW, I got the opportunity to sit down with Geoghegan, Crampton, Sensenig and co-stars Larry Fessenden, Monte Markham and Lisa Marie to discuss what it took to make the film. The group talked about their first impressions of Ge...
