Kea (Greek: Κέα), also known as Gia or Tzia (Greek: Τζια), Zea, and, in antiquity, Keos (Greek: Κέως, Latin: Ceos), is a Greek island in the Cyclades archipelago in the Aegean Sea. Kea is part of the Kea-Kythnos regional unit.
It is the island of the Cyclades complex that is closest to Attica (about 1 hour by ferry from Lavrio) and is also 20 km (12 mi) from Cape Sounio as well as 60 km (37 mi) SE of Athens. Its climate is arid, and its terrain is hilly. Kea is 19 km (12 mi) long from north to south and 9 km (6 mi) wide from west to east. The area is 129 km2 (50 sq mi) with the highest point being 560 m (1,837 ft) above sea level
Its capital, Ioulis, is inland at a high altitude (like most ancient Cycladic settlements, for fear of pirates) and is considered quite picturesque. Other major villages of Kea are the port of Korissia and the fishing village of Vourkari. After suffering depopulation for many decades, Kea has been recently rediscovered by Athens as a convenient destination for weekends and yachting trips. The population in 2011 was 2,455.

Kea is a beutiful island in greece belonging to the group of the Cyclades. There are very good anchor facilities, nice restaurants, taverns and little artist craft boutiques.
Find most resorts and attractions around Kailua-Kona on the west coast. To see green sea turtles, visit Kahalu'u bay or Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park. For a break from beaches, the grand Hulihe'e Palace and the sacred site of Pu'uhonua are worth exploring. The highest point of the island is the Mauna Kea volcano. Hikers will also love Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Hawaii is the only U.S. state located in Oceania and the only one composed entirely of islands. It is the northernmost island group in Polynesia, occupying most of an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean. Hawaii is the only U.S. state not located in the Americas. The state does not observe daylight saving time. The state encompasses nearly the entire volcanic Hawaiian archipelago, which comprises hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles (2,400 km). At the southeastern end of the archipelago, the eight main islands are—in order from northwest to southeast: Niʻihau, Kauaʻi, Oʻ...

Mauna Kea Summit (4,207.3 m / 13,803 ft) This volcano is located on Big Island, Hawaii. Much of the mountain is under water; when measured from its oceanic base, Mauna Kea is over 10,000 m (33,000 ft) tall: the world's tallest mountain from base to summit.
We took our 10 year old Toyota Corolla S all the way up to see the observatories at the top of the Mauna Kea volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Here's a charming Greek island that isn't overflowing with tourists and is very close to Athens. The nature is great to walk in. Kea (or Tzia for the locals) is well known for its culture and traditional shops.

Here is a video of some villas on the Greek island of Kea that were under construction and abandoned for unknown reasons. The villas at the start of the video are in the basic stages of construction, whereas the ones towards the end of the video were not far of being completed. This is why it is strange how they were left, when so much money had already been spent on them. Kea has many abandoned villas in other parts of the island as well, so there are plenty more to see if you plan on going there. Sorry about the annoying watermark in the video, this is due to the different editing software i tried to use. It was originally shot in 4K resolution, however i was only able to export the video in 1080p. If you liked the video please like, share, comment and subscribe for more videos.
This is one of the toughest drives in the world. The road is steep and it's off road and a long way up! It's so high that you have to settle at base camp before attempting the off road portion of the drive. It's well worth the wait and the endurance as the views at the top are spectacular. Mauna Kea on Hawaii island is the highest mountain in the world from it's base. The road to get to the access road is located between Kona and Hilo airports on Hawaii island. In January of 2015, I visited the Big Island of Hawaii. While there, my friend Cal Mukumoto and I drove to the summit of Mauna Kea to photograph the sunset and stars from the 13,790-foot peak. We drove from Kona on the western coast of the Big Island up to the Visitor Center at 9,200 feet. There we drank some water, changed into warmer clothes and acclimated to the altitude. After an hour at 9,200 feet I started up my two GoPro cameras (the shot aimed back at us is the GoPro Hero 4 Black and the forward shot is the GoPro Hero 3+ Black). The bumpy ride up to the summit was a lot of fun, and by the time we reached the top the temperature had dropped to the mid-30's and the wind was blowing about 25 miles per hour. It was a wonderful trip and I highly recommend the drive for anyone up for the...
Two weeks on the south island. 2600km and only half of the island covered. New Zealand is not as small as some people tend to suggest. We went from Christchurch through lake Tekapo, lake Pukaki, Mount Cook, Hooker Valley, Tasman Lake, Kea Point, Lake Hawea, Lake Wanaka, Lake Wakatipu, Te Anau, Doubtful Sound, Milford Sound, Gertrude Saddle, Key Summit, and back to Banks Peninsula and Christchurch. music by: Broke for Free - Budding - http://brokeforfree.bandcamp.com/track/budding Blazo - Fresh Green - http://blazo.bandcamp.com/track/fresh-green Athony Drawn - Xillusion - http://westwoodconnection.bandcamp.com/track/xillusion Ynicorns - five more minutes - http://indeliblenichecollective.bandcamp.com/track/five-more-minu...
Hundreds of protectors from all islands gathered on the mountain on the 24th of June anticipating the commencement of construction of the TMT telescope which would bulldoze an 8 acre area on the 13,796ft summit of the highest mountain of the Pacific, which to the Hawaiians is the highest temple and their umbilical (spiritual connection) to Akua (god) and the entire universe. Blockades were made all along the road leading up to the summit with around 10 to 20 people in each line, conducting themselves in sacred ceremony and holding a strong Kapu Aloha. As brother Kahookahi Kanuha likes to remind everyone in every briefing, 'Sacred place, sacred conduct.' It is this conduct based on love, understanding, respect and compassion that has so far kept these confrontations peaceful. We were met...
