STORYLINE:
The Iranian-born American entrepreneur who travelled on a Russian spacecraft to the international space station last month, said on Wednesday she now has a third country in her heart, Russia.
Anousheh Ansari, back on Earth after her 10-day adventure as the first paying female space tourist ended three weeks ago, was feted by Russia's space establishment at a ceremony at Star City facility, outside Moscow, where she had trained for her flight.
The commander of Russia's air force, General Vladimir Mikhailov, praised Ansari's conduct during the trip, which reportedly cost her 20 (m) million US dollars (16 million euros.)
Ansari was honoured on Wednesday along with Russian cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov and US astronaut Jeff Williams, who returned to Earth with her aboard a Soyuz capsule after their own five-month stint on the orbiting station.
Ansari, a 40-year-old Texas electrical engineer and entrepreneur who helped finance a 10 (m) million dollars (8 million euro) prize promoting privately-financed space flight, had returned to the United States after her voyage.
She was back in Russia briefly for the ceremony, which featured a military band and a traditional Russian offering of bread and salt.
Wearing a white, flower-patterned Russian-style head scarf over her coat against the cold, she placed flowers at a monument to the first human in space, Russia's Yuri Gagarin.

With the success of Kosmos 146 and in spite of the failures of the first three 7K-Ok's it was now time to plan for a Soyuz manned mission. The planned involved the launch and docking of two piloted Soyuzes. Soyuz 7K-OK production model number 4 was assigned the role of the active vehicle. The active vehicle was supposed to carry one cosmonaut into earth orbit. Twenty-four hours later, vehicle No. 5 (the passive vehicle) carrying three cosmonauts would be inserted in orbit. After rendezvouing, two cosmonauts from vehicle No. 5 would transfer through open space to vehicle No. 4.

Soyuz 11
Soyuz 11 (Russian: Союз 11, Union 11) was the only manned mission to board the world's first space station, Salyut 1 (Soyuz 10 had soft-docked but had not been able to enter due to latching problems). The mission arrived at the space station on 7 June 1971 and departed on 30 June. The mission ended in disaster when the crew capsule depressurised during preparations for reentry, killing the three-man crew. The Soyuz 11 crew members were Georgy Dobrovolsky, Vladislav Volkov, and Viktor Patsayev.
The three crew members of Soyuz 11 are the only humans to have died in space.

The original prime crew for Soyuz 11 consisted of Alexei Leonov, Valeri Kubasov and Pyotr Kolodin. A medical X-ray examination four days before launch suggested that Kubasov might have tuberculosis, and according to the mission rules, the prime crew was replaced with the backup crew. For Dobrovolski and Patsayev, this was to be their first space mission. After the failure of Salyut 2 to orbit, Kubasov and Leonov were reassigned to Soyuz 19 for the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project in 1975.

http://spacerockethistory.com With the success of Kosmos 146 and in spite of the failures of the first three 7K-Ok's it was now time to plan for a Soyuz manned mission. The planned involved the launch and docking of two piloted Soyuzes. Soyuz 7K-OK production model number 4 was assigned the role of the active vehicle. The active vehicle was supposed to carry one cosmonaut into earth orbit. Twenty-four hours later, vehicle No. 5 (the passive vehicle) carrying three cosmonauts would be inserted in orbit. The Iranian-born American entrepreneur who travelled on a Russian spacecraft to the international space station last month, said on Wednesday she now has a third country in her heart, Russia.
Anousheh Ansari, back on Earth after her 10-day adventure as the first paying female space tourist ended three weeks ago, was feted by Russia's space establishment at a ceremony at Star City facility, outside Moscow, where she had trained for her flight.
The commander of Russia's air force, General Vladimir Mikhailov, praised Ansari's conduct during the trip, which reportedly cost her 20 (m) million US dollars (16 million euros.)
Ansari was honoured on Wednesday along with Russian cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov and US astronaut Jeff Williams, who returned to Earth with her aboard a Soyuz capsule after their own five-month stint on the orbiting station.
Ansari, a 40-year-old Texas electrical engineer and entrepreneur who helped finance a 10 (m) million dollars (8 million euro) prize promoting privately-financed space flight, had returned to the United States after her voyage.
She was back in Russia briefly for the ceremony, which featured a military band and a traditional Russian offering of bread and salt.
Wearing a white, flower-patterned Russian-style head scarf over her coat against the cold, she placed flowers at a monument to the first human in space, Russia's Yuri Gagarin.

With the success of Kosmos 146 and in spite of the failures of the first three 7K-Ok's it was now time to plan for a Soyuz manned mission. The planned involved the launch and docking of two piloted Soyuzes. Soyuz 7K-OK production model number 4 was assigned the role of the active vehicle.
