Danny Lloyd - Viajando En Rem (Andrea Cassino Remix) Release Info: A debut original EP to proudly represent his sound, Danny Lloyd and his "Espejismo" lit up the early summer months with a trio of works. Now returning to the EP, two new reworks pit the wits of French, Australian and Italian talents. A recent twin-track original EP to their names for Particles in the shape of "Spirals", French national, Rick Pier O'Neil and Australian, Desaturate, have already made considerable impressions with their music; O'Neil's long-serving history within the dance music industry reaching heights most modern producers can only dream of. Having worked for Sony Music, Universal and Motown, and with such artists as Stevie Wonder and Lenny Kravitz, Rick Pier O'Neil's move into the underground dance arena carried considerable risk. However, success through his own RPO label and beyond with support from a host of luminaries including Carl Cox and Steve Lawler, has seen the Mexico based artist triumphant. Australian, Desaturate, whose Progress Inn alter-ego has provided considerable success over a seven-year period and whose production credits can be found on regarded imprints: Dopamine, Vapour and Suffused Music, has seen Janko Dragovic provide a slice of progressive house style that has translated well to the Particles catalogues. Now working alongside the Frenchman, the Rick Pier O'Neil and Desaturate remix of Lloyd's title track has seen the pair take "Espejismo" on an uptempo path with its driving rhythmic bed providing ample energy. A hypnotic flow sees the track pass in the blink of an eye and effortless percussive groove and melodic interplay has dynamism and vibrancy apparent in equal measure. Clever use of Lloyd's original components, including the airy vocal phrases, adds further to a superbly executed remix. An Italian producer well known for his production work with fellow countryman, Laben, from as early as 2001, Andrea Cassino soon found his work signed to the likes of Armada, Babylon and Tilth Music, supported by luminaries: Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz. 2009 saw a break away from Cassino's production partnership with Laben as solo work began to take on renewed importance and his work began to shift organically to a newer tech house oriented sound. A regular on Sonic Union's Lowbit imprint, Andrea Cassino's work has been further allied to Balkan Connection and Soundteller while a burgeoning production relationship with Danny Lloyd himself has seen the pair release a clutch of original works for KumQuat, Lowbit and Kunai. A trio of remixes for Alessandro Diga, Lateral Cut Groove and Simos Tagias comprises Cassino's work for Particles thus far as he returns now to rework, "Viajando en REM".
