Hal Gordon (1894–1946) was a British film actor. A character actor, he appeared in over 90 films in both comic and straight roles.
He started off as a lawyer's clerk but finding it dull he decided on the stage, making his music hall debut in 1912. He toured England and South Africa in pantomime and comedy before entering films in 1928, his first being Adam's Apple.
Green Lantern is the name of a number of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. They fight evil with the aid of rings that grant them a variety of extraordinary powers.
The first Green Lantern character, Alan Scott, was created in 1940 during the initial popularity of superheroes. Alan Scott usually fought common criminals in New York City with the aid of his magic ring. The publication of this character ceased in 1949 during a general decline in the popularity of superhero comics, but the character saw a limited revival in later decades.
In 1959, to capitalize on the booming popularity of science fiction, the Green Lantern character was reinvented as Hal Jordan, an officer for an interstellar law enforcement agency known as the Green Lantern Corps. Additional members of this agency, all of whom call themselves Green Lanterns, were introduced over time. Prominent Green Lanterns who also have had starring roles in the books include Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, and Simon Baz.
Hal Jordan, known as Green Lantern, is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created in 1959 by writer John Broome and artist Gil Kane, and first appeared in Showcase #22 (October 1959). Hal Jordan is a reinvention of a previous character called Green Lantern that had appeared in 1940s comic books as the character Alan Scott.
Hal Jordan is a member and occasionally leader of the intergalactic police force called the Green Lantern Corps. He fights evil across the Universe with a ring that grants him a variety of superpowers.
Hal Jordan is ranked 7th on IGN's in the Top 100 Comic Book Heroes in 2011.
In 2013, Hal Jordan placed 4th on IGN's Top 25 Heroes of DC Comics.
After achieving great success in 1956 in reviving the Golden Age character The Flash, DC editor Julius Schwartz looked toward recreating the Green Lantern from the Golden Age of Comic Books. Like The Flash, Schwartz wanted this new character to have a different secret identity, origin, and personality from his 1940s counterpart. A long time science-fiction fan and literary agent, Schwartz wanted a more sci-fi based Green Lantern, as opposed to the mystical powers of Alan Scott, the original 1940s Green Lantern. He enlisted writer John Broome and artist Gil Kane, who in 1959 would reintroduce Green Lantern to the world in Showcase #22 (October 1959) by creating Hal Jordan.

Carol Ferris is first introduced in S.O.S. Green Lantern!, which ran in Showcase vol. 1, issue #22 (October 1959). In her original appearance, Hal Jordan becomes employed at Ferris Aircraft and (after asking her to dinner) she makes it clear that she does not date employees. However, she would go on to play an on and off romantic role in his life. She first appears as the second Star Sapphire in Green Lantern vol. 2, #16 (October 1962). As Star Sapphire, she battles Jordan (as Green Lantern) for many years. This first happens as the Zamarons want to prove men are inferior, so they make her battle Green Lantern. When she is first defeated by him they take away her memory of the event, but the persona keeps resurfacing. When Jordan becomes the Spectre, he removes the Star Sapphire persona fr...

Gabor Szabo - 1968 Bacchanal A beautiful CD which manages to burn with intensity and smolder with a quiet glow. Szabo mixes his familiar style with a subtle use of feedback on a well-programmed group of originals and pop covers, traversing a range of styles – from jazz to rock and Latin to raga. This is perhaps the best record of Szabo’s superior 1960’s quintet, featuring classically-trained guitarist Jimmy Stewart. "Three King Fishers" and "Love is Blue" were used to score the film SURVIVAL IN THE SEA, a 29-minute documentary directed by Richard Wormser for Life Nature Library. The 16-mm film, part of the World We Live In Series, studies the struggle for survival among sea creatures and explains some of the reasons why fish have adapted through natural selection. A propaganda film from 1943 made by Gainsborough Films and directed by Frank Lauder and Sidney Gilliatt, this documentary-style ‘home-front' movie has a huge reputation and is regarded as one of the best films to come out of the War period. Propaganda for encouraging the populace to pull together to defeat the enemy it may have been, but the directors and actors manage to bring out the pathos, warmth and ‘pulling together' of the period so well that it just feels like a great ‘feel-good' movie, though with a somewhat sad ending. There are many small details to be enjoyed - the contrast between the pre-war holiday had by the main family and the stringencies of wartime; Tommy Trinder, giving his services for no credit, heard but not seen (as the station Master's voice-over); "Calling All W...

In his testimony he recounts how he observed UFOs flying in the same formation as his fighter group over the skies of Germany. These UFOs made maneuvers that could not be done by conventional fighters. At another time, while filming conventional aircraft performing precision landings, a saucer flew directly overhead and landed ahead of them on a dry lakebed. The entire event was filmed including detailed close-ups. The film was sent back to Washington and was never returned. Get updates by following The Disclosure Project and CSETI on: FAC...

Their purpose is to recover objects of unknown origin particularly those that are of non-Earthly origin.
