Detailed information for the tricks in the video:
1. Slow motion ball:
You need a thick liquid, preferably honey, a heavy ball, and a sphere shaped container. Place the heavy ball in the lower half of the sphere. Fill the lower half of the container with honey a little more than half.
If you use too little or too much, it will affect the motion of the ball.
2. Water fire starter. Credit goes to The King of Random for this idea. Be sure to check out his channel. He has a huge selection of amazing how to experiments. https://www.youtube.com/user/01032010814
You need a plastic or glass container with a curved area. The Pom bottles work great. Fill the bottle with water. Fold 2 sheets of paper in half, twice. Print or scribble a black mark on one of the sheets. On a sunny day hold the bottle near the paper, focusing the light on the black area of the paper. Once it starts to smoke and a hole begins to form, wrap the other sheet of paper around the smoking piece. Wave the papers through the air to feed oxygen to the spark. Continue this until the paper catches on fire.
3. No-leak magic bag:
Al you need is a zip baggy, pencils and water. Fill the bag almost to the top. Zip it shut, and start sticking pencils through the bag. Sometimes a few drops will leak out, but overall, this is a simple yet impressive trick
4. Liquid Stacking:
You'll need a tall glass or bottle. Dish Soap, vegetable oil, dark corn syrup, rubbing alcohol, water and food coloring.
First add the dark corn syrup, then dish soap, then add food coloring to the water and pour it in with the bottle tilted, then add the vegetable oil (bottle tilted), and finally add food coloring to the alcohol and pour it in with the bottle tilted.
5. Invisible Bottle:
You need glycerin, a glass and a bottle that will fit in the glass. Fill both glass and bottle with glycerin and place the bottle in the glass. It looks like the bottle disappears.
6. Dancing Liquid:
You need a powered speaker, a tone generator (can be found online), corn starch, water and plastic to protect the speaker. Pour 1/2 cup of corn starch in a bowl and 1/4 cup of water. Mix. Pour the liquid into the speaker and generate a 60hz tone.
7. Magic Water Barrier:
You need 2 of the same glasses. Hot water, cold water, food coloring and a thin piece of plastic or cardboard. Pour the hot water in 1 glass, the cold in the other glass, add food coloring, then place the plastic on top of the hot water glass. Turn the glass upside down, place it on top of the cold water glass, then carefully remove the plastic. Hot water is less dense than cold water, so it "floats" on top of the cold water.
8. Leidenfrost effect:
You need a pan, water and a stove. Turn the heat on high for about 4 minutes then add the water. This experiment can stain your pans.
9. Reverse Illusion:
Add all sorts of images or words behind a glass, then watch as it reverses when you add water in the glass.
10. Reversing Liquid:
You need 1 big glass, 1 smaller glass, 3 mixing glasses, corn syrup, pipettes, food coloring, and clips.
First pour the corn syrup into the 2 bigger glasses. Place the smaller glass inside of the bigger glass. Attach the clips to prevent the smaller glass from moving side to side in the bigger glass. Pour a small amount of corn syrup into the 3 mixing glasses. Add food coloring and stir. Fill each pipette with a different color, then add the colored corn syrup to your big glass. Turn the smaller glass carefully and watch the colors mix. Turn it back and watch them unmix.
Thanks for watching! Have fun!

Getting Published: How to Write a Good Science Paper, by Dr. Chris Mack
Publishing is an extremely important part of the process of science, and often an important part of the career of scientists and engineers. The first scientific paper to come out of the New Horizons flyby of Pluto in July has just been published.
Appearing in Science magazine, the article is largely a collation of information already made public through media briefings and press releases.
It includes the mission team’s initial impressions of Pluto and its moons: Charon, Styx, Nix, Kerberos and Hydra.
And, of course, it details some of the basic numbers that can now be used to describe these far-flung objects. One key early result from the US space agency (Nasa) probe is the precise measure of Pluto's radius, of 1,187km, plus or minus 4km.
"This doesn't sound particularly exciting but you have to remember estimates of Pluto's radius varied from 1,150km to 1,200km, so this will really help those people modelling how Pluto/Charon formed, their atmospheres and the material exchange between them," said team member Dr Carly Howett from the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) in Boulder, Colorado.
Ancient pile-up
Pluto's mass was already known, so the larger radius gives a density that is consequently now a little lower, at 1,860kg per cubic metre.
This brings it nearer to that of Charon, the main moon in the system. Its density is 1,702kg per cubic metre (its radius is 606km plus or minus 3km).
The closeness in density has a series of theoretical implications, which the team duly starts to discuss in the new paper.
It suggests the materials that make up the objects are not that dissimilar. Yes, different types of ices dominate their surfaces, but their bulk compositions may be quite alike.
That is not a surprise if, as many scientists think, the pair were formed as a result of a collision between two primordial objects billions of years ago.
However, it does put some important constraints on the smash-up. To have the bulk materials broadly divided up evenly between Pluto and Charon may indicate that the colliding objects were predominantly undifferentiated masses of ice and rock. Had either significantly gone down the path of separating heavier and lighter materials into defined layers, this would be reflected in the densities of Pluto and Charon today.
And accepting the undifferentiated state of the colliders could say something about the early conditions that pertained in this distant region of the Solar System, known as the Kuiper Belt.
It might suggest it was a markedly low-energy environment. Had the accretion of materials to make larger and larger objects been a more dynamic, violent process then it would have injected a lot of heat into these bodies, melting materials and prompting them to separate into layers.
"If this story all hangs together then it might mean these objects formed more slowly or that they formed later than at least some models would have it. This is the kind of thinking we're doing," Prof Bill McKinnon from Washington University in St Louis, Missouri, told BBC News.
Duck walk
In this context, it is fascinating to note that Comet 67P is two objects stuck together.
67P is being studied by that other major space venture of the moment - the European Space Agency's Rosetta probe.
The duck-shaped comet very probably formed in the Kuiper Belt before being disturbed and moved into the inner Solar System. And Rosetta scientists say some of the icy dirtball's features could only persist today if the precursor objects were joined in a low-velocity, "walking pace" collision.
"All of the data about Pluto and its moons (even the little bitty moons) and 67P, and the next Kuiper Belt object we go to with New Horizons in a little over three years - all of this will feed into trying to understand how the Solar System formed," said Prof McKinnon.
'More goodies'
New Horizons continues to speed beyond Pluto following its historic flyby.
It has now gone more than 100 million km deeper into space, putting it some five billion km from Earth.
As it recedes from us, the probe continues to send back data gathered during the flyby.
"We're really in the peak time in the mission for science because we're in the thick of our highest priority downlink," explained Dr John Spencer from SwRI.

Of Mice and Frogs, the Observations of Endothermic and Ectothermic Metabolic Responses to Decreasing Ambient Temperatures:
Skript:
The objective of this study was to compare the metabolic responses of ectotherms and endotherms to a change in ambient temperature. My goals were to observe and record their behavioral and metabolic responses at varying ambient temperatures. I hypothesize that when temperatures decrease the metabolic response for the ectotherm will decrease and for the endotherm it will increase.
Cotton was placed over a small amount of soda lime which was used for absorbing carbon dioxide within a flask. A pipette was inserted into a beaker filled with water and as the mouse used up oxygen, water from the beaker would move up the pipette and show how much oxygen was being used. This procedure was repeated 3 times for 3 minutes each at room temperature.
Buccal pumping of the frog at room temperature was measured for 1 minute and the procedure was repeated 3 times. The behavior of the frog was relatively calm. The cage was then placed into a container filled with an ice bath. As the temperature decreased from 10 degrees Celsius to 5 degrees Celsius the frog became more active. When the procedure was repeated, counting of the buccal pumps was more difficult to measure because the frog would try to escape. However, the buccal pumps were noticeably slower and movement was sluggish.
At about 5 degrees Celsius the amount of oxygen that the mouse breathed in was observed and recorded. Its breathing had visibly increased but otherwise it was quite motionless. The mouse did not attempt to escape nor did it stand up. Instead, the mouse curled up, would shiver, and kept a circular shape.
The frog and mouse were later returned to warmer environments.
Calculations, conversions and graphing were done to interpret the results of the data.
I found that my hypothesis was accepted. Both graphs show that when temperatures decrease, the metabolic response for the ectotherm decreases and for the endotherm it increases.

Publishing is an extremely important part of the process of science, and often an important part of the career of scientists and engineers. But to the early-career author (or student preparing their first publication), the peer-reviewed journal writing and publishing process can be intimidating, and possibly a bit mysterious. What are journal editors and reviewers looking for? What does it take to get your work published?
Of course, the first place to start is by doing good research on an important topic. But you still have to write a good paper. This talk will focus on what it takes to get published, and in particular how to write a good science paper. I’ll share some of my secrets on writing a good paper (OK, they’re not really secrets, but these skills are not often taught in school). The good news is you don’t have to be a good writer to write a good paper. But you do have to be a careful and knowledgeable writer. With practice, you can become a good writer as well.
