Sun

The Sun (in Greek: Helios, in Latin: Sol) is the star at the center of the Solar System and is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth. It is a nearly perfect spherical ball of hot plasma, with internal convective motion that generates a magnetic field via a dynamo process. Its diameter is about 109 times that of Earth, and it has a mass about 330,000 times that of Earth, accounting for about 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System.About three quarters of the Sun's mass consists of hydrogen; the rest is mostly helium, with much smaller quantities of heavier elements, including oxygen, carbon, neon and iron.

The Sun is a G-type main-sequence star (G2V) based on spectral class and it is informally referred to as a yellow dwarf. It formed approximately 4.567 billion years ago from the gravitational collapse of matter within a region of a large molecular cloud. Most of this matter gathered in the center, whereas the rest flattened into an orbiting disk that became the Solar System. The central mass became increasingly hot and dense, eventually initiating nuclear fusion in its core. It is thought that almost all stars form by this process.

The Baltimore Sun

The Baltimore Sun is the largest general-circulation daily newspaper based in the American state of Maryland and provides coverage of local and regional news, events, issues, people, and industries.

History

The Sun was founded on May 17, 1837, by printer/publisher Arunah Shepherdson Abell (1806–1888) and two associates, William Swain (1809–1868) and Azariah H. Simmons, recently from Philadelphia, where they had started and published the Philadelphia Public Ledger. Abell was born in Rhode Island, and began with the Providence Patriot and later with papers in New York City and Boston. The Abell family owned The Sun (later colloquially known in Baltimore as The Sunpapers), until 1910, when the local Black and Garrett families of financial means gained a controlling interest while still retaining the name A. S. Abell Company for the parent company. The paper was sold in 1986 to the Times-Mirror Company of the Los Angeles Times. The same week, the rival The News American, with publishing antecedents going back to 1773, the oldest paper in the city, now since the 1920s owned by the Hearst Corporation, announced it would fold. In 1997, The Sun acquired the Patuxent Publishing Company, a local suburban newspaper publisher that had a stable of weekly papers.

The Sun is a daily tabloid newspaper published in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Founded in 1964 as a successor broadsheet to the Daily Herald, it became a tabloid in 1969 after it was purchased by its current owners. It is published by the News Group Newspapers division of News UK, itself a wholly owned subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

The Sun had the largest circulation of any daily newspaper in the United Kingdom, but in late 2013 slipped to second largest Saturday newspaper behind the Daily Mail. It had an average daily circulation of 2.2 million copies in March 2014. Between July and December 2013 the paper had an average daily readership of approximately 5.5 million, with approximately 31% of those falling into the ABC1 demographic and 68% in the C2DE demographic. Approximately 41% of readers are women.The Sun has been involved in many controversies in its history, including its coverage of the 1989 Hillsborough football stadium disaster. Regional editions of the newspaper for Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are published in Glasgow (The Scottish Sun), Belfast (The Sun) and Dublin (The Irish Sun) respectively.

Sun (Thomas Bergersen album)

Sun is the second stand-alone production album created by Thomas J. Bergersen from Two Steps from Hell, released on September 30, 2014. The release contains 16 tracks, featuring vocal performances by Merethe Soltvedt, Molly Conole and other vocalists. The album cover and artwork are designed by Bergersen himself. The album was announced for pre-order on September 9 across iTunes, Amazon, and CD Baby, with the tracks "Empire of Angels," "Final Frontier," and "Starchild" made available on iTunes prior to the full release. In addition, a signed limited deluxe edition CD version has been scheduled for somewhere in 2015, set to include additional music, notes on each track written by Thomas, and a large-size poster featuring his artwork.

Sun-60

Sun-60 (later Sun 60 without the hyphen) were a Los Angeles Alternative rock band from 1987-1996.

The band was notable for the vocals of Joan Jones, the guitar riffs of David Russo, clever song-writing, and an eclectic combination of styles, including folk, alt rock, pop, and blues.

Despite a cult following, considerable commercial potential, and moderate success both as a touring live act and on record, the band never quite caught on, and split in 1996.

History

Sun-60 began as an acoustic folk duo, composed of Joan Jones and David Russo playing under the name Far Cry. Gradually their sound became harder-edged, and they added various musicians to form a rock rhythm section.

They were signed by Epic Records in 1990 and released the eponymous Sun-60 in 1992. Sun-60 is a glossily-produced, high-energy folk/pop/rock album showcasing Jones' voice and hook-laden songwriting.

Only (1993) is primarily blues-based hard rock, although folk and pop influences are still audible. The album features guest performances from several notable musicians such as Dave Navarro.

Harmony (2015 film)

Harmony (ハーモニー, Hāmonī) is a 2015 Japanese animated science fiction film directed by Michael Arias, animated by Studio 4°C and based the novel of the same name by Project Itoh. The film was released on November 13, 2015. Two other anime films based on novels by the same author are to be released: The Empire of Corpses was released on October 2, 2015 and Genocidal Organ, currently delayed without a release date.
