Donald Trump
Donald John Trump, Sr. (born June 14, 1946) is an American businessperson and media personality. He is the chairman and president of The Trump Organization and the founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts. Trump's career, branding efforts, personal life, wealth, and outspoken manner have made him famous throughout the country. Since 2015, he is also a candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 election.
Trump is a native of New York City and a son of Fred Trump, who inspired him to enter real estate development. After two years at Fordham University and while studying at Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Trump worked for his father's firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son. Upon graduating in 1968 he joined the company, and in 1971 was given control, renaming the company "The Trump Organization". Since then he has built hotels, golf courses, and other properties, many of which bear his name. He is a major figure in the American business scene and has received prominent media exposure. The NBC reality show The Apprentice bolstered his fame, and his three marriages were extensively reported in tabloids.

Democratic transitions in Latin America, Eastern Europe, and South Africa, often studied under the conceptual rubric of transitional justice, have involved the formation of public policies toward the past that are multifaceted and often ambitious. Recent scholarship rarely questions the concepts and categories transposed from one country to another. This is true both in the language of political life and in the social sciences examining past-oriented public policy, especially policy toward ethnic cleansing and the line between the language of political practice, legal analysis, and scholarly discourse has been quite porous. This book examines how these phenomena have been described and understood by focusing recent processes, such as the advent of international criminal justice, in relation to previous postwar and recent purges. By crossing disciplinary approaches and periods, the authors pay attention to three main aspects: the legal or political concepts used (and/or the ones mobilized in the academic work); the circulation of categories, know-how, and arguments; the different levels that can shed light on transitions.

On Monday, October 3, 2016, the Minnesota Voters Alliance (MVA) will be announcing the filing of its legal action to the Ramsey County District Court to stop Secretary of State Steve Simon from entitling and permitting known ineligible persons to vote on November 8, 2016. Earlier this week, the Minnesota Supreme Court in a historic procedural decision determined that it would not take original jurisdiction over the MVA’s petition to stop known ineligible persons, such as court restricted felons and mentally incapacitated persons, and non-citizens from continuing to vote in Minnesota elections. The U.S. is finalizing a ten-year memorandum of understanding which will reportedly boost aid to $4-5 billion per year. The director of the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy (IRmep) in the suit challenges the authority of the president and U.S. federal agencies to deliver such foreign aid to Israel. Such aid violates longstanding bans on aid to non-signatories to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT) with nuclear weapons programs. Since the bans went into effect U.S. foreign aid to Israel is estimated to be $234 billion.
The lawsuit reveals how in the mid-1970s during investigations into the illegal diversion of weapons-grade uranium from U.S. contractor NUMEC to Israel, Senators Stuart Symington and John Glenn amended the 1961 Foreign Assistance Act to ban any aid to clandestine nuclear powers that were not NPT signatories. Symington clarified the legislative intent of the amendments: "...if you wish to take the dangerous and costly steps necessary to achieve a nuclear weapons option, you cannot expect the United States to help underwrite that effort indirectly or directly."
The Obama administration follows precedents established since the Ford administration by ignoring internal agency and public domain information that should trigger Symington & Glenn cutoffs and waiver provisions governing foreign aid. The administration has gone further in criminalizing the flow of such information from the federal government to the public.
In 2012 the Department of Energy under U.S. State Department authority passed a secret gag law called "Guidance on Release of Information relating to the Potential for an Israeli Nuclear Capability." The gag law and related measures promote a "nuclear ambiguity" policy toward Israel. The primary purpose of the gag law is to unlawfully subvert Symington & Glenn arms export controls, the suit alleges.
IRmep won unprecedented release of a Pentagon report about Israel's nuclear weapons program through a 2014 lawsuit. A 2015 IRmep lawsuit dislodged CIA files about the NUMEC diversion.
IRmep is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit researching U.S. Middle East policy formulation.

On Monday, October 3, 2016, the Minnesota Voters Alliance (MVA) will be announcing
the filing of its legal action to the Ramsey County District Court to stop Secretary of State Steve Simon from entitling and permitting known ineligible persons to vote on November 8, 2016.
Earlier this week, the Minnesota Supreme Court in a historic procedural decision determined that it would not take original jurisdiction over the MVA’s petition to stop known ineligible persons, such as court restricted felons and mentally incapacitated persons, and non-citizens from continuing to vote in Minnesota elections.
Instead, the Court deferred to the district courts of Minnesota to adjudicate the Secretary of State's procedures regarding ineligible persons.
A press conference has been scheduled at 10:00 a.m in Room 181, State Office Building, 100 Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55155.
Former state representative Kirk Stensrud, Eden Prairie, is a co-plaintiff.

The Man recently told Valve to stamp out online gambling which uses virtual Steam items – Counter-Strike gun skins and the like – as chips. The Washington State Gambling Commission gave Valve until October 14th, under threat of legal action, to stop these gambling sites and report back explaining their compliance with Washington State’s gambling laws and Valve have replied, er, several days late ... ....
