Penn Hills is a home rule municipality, formerly a township, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population as of the 2010 census was 42,329. Penn Hills is the second-largest municipality in Allegheny County, after the city of Pittsburgh.
In 1788, when Allegheny County was formed, the area now known as Penn Hills was part of Pitt Township. On January 16, 1850, Robert Logan, Thomas Davison and Daniel Bieber were appointed by the court to review the boundaries of a new township to be formed from the northwestern part of Wilkins. This new township was formed and named Adams, until August 1850 when the action of the court was reconsidered to change the name to McNair Township. The name was again changed to Penn Township by Act of Assembly and approved on February 10, 1851. In 1958 Penn Township became Penn Hills Township, and in 1976 Penn Hills became a home rule municipality. The earliest population was given in 1860, when there were 1,821 people living in Penn Township. The population grew to 2,685 in 1870 and 3,291 in 1880. The local high school is Penn Hills High School (PHHS) and the school mascot is an Indian.
Penn Hills Resort was a honeymoon resort located in community of Analomink, in Stroud Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, in the Pocono Mountains region near the Borough of East Stroudsburg. Founded as a tavern in 1944, it expanded to over a hundred rooms before closing in 2009.
The 500 acre resort grew in the 1960s to include a ski resort and a golf course. Guest villas featured floor-to-ceiling carpeting, round beds, and heart-shaped bathtubs. Distinctive, modernist streetlights from the 1964 World's Fair were installed, as well as an ice rink and a wedding bell shaped outdoor swimming pool.
Billed as a "Paradise of Pocono Pleasure" and a place of "unbridled passion", the resort catered to Swinging, young couples who enjoyed archery and tennis and danced at modestly lavish New Year's Eve parties where the motto was "No balloon goes unpopped."
In 2009, Penn Hills co-founder Frances Paolillo died at the age of 102. The resort closed less than two months later. Workers' final paychecks were never issued, and the resort owed the county over $1 million in back taxes. Already in serious disrepair, flooding and copper thieves damaged the buildings further, and the resort was abandoned.

A hill is a landform that extends above the surrounding terrain. It often has a distinct summit, although in areas with scarp/dip topography a hill may refer to a particular section of flat terrain without a massive summit (e.g. Box Hill, Surrey).
The distinction between a hill and a mountain is unclear and largely subjective, but a hill is universally considered to be less tall and less steep than a mountain. In the United Kingdom, geographers historically regarded mountains as hills greater than 1,000 feet (300 m) above sea level, which formed the basis of the plot of the 1995 film The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain. In contrast, hillwalkers have tended to regard mountains as peaks 2,000 feet (610 m) above sea level: the Oxford English Dictionary also suggests a limit of 2,000 feet (610 m) and Whittow states "Some authorities regard eminences above 600 m (2,000 ft) as mountains, those below being referred to as hills." The Great Soviet Encyclopedia defines hill as an upland with a relative height up to 200 m (660 ft).
Monroe County may refer to seventeen counties in the United States:

Driving down Rt 447 is not unlike many of the throughways that crisscross the Poconos - You cruise through near-infinite acres of forest, all the while breaking up the monotony by avoiding potholes, fighting road hypnosis, and avoiding the occasional wild animal that has somehow managed to find the singular strip of asphalt among all the trees. What sets 447 apart however, is that just when your eyes are about to glaze over from the blandness of it all, you find yourself driving right through the center of a massive retro honeymoon resort... and it's completely abandoned. At this point you're to likely pull over onto the dirt shoulder in an abrupt stop, rubbing your eyes to assure yourself that you're not just hallucinating from lack of mental stimulation. It's a surreal sight, but very mu...

5 Top-Rated Tourist Attractions in Pittsburgh, United States On the north-western Allegheny Plateau, at the point where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers join to form the Ohio, lies the city of Pittsburgh, surrounded by the wooded hills of the western Appalachians. The wealth of the city came from these hills: the coal mined here was the basis of a great steel industry which at one time produced half the total requirements of the United States. However, Pittsburgh is no longer the soot-encrusted coal and steel town of the past, but rather a metropolis with fine parks and gardens flanking the rivers and a modern city centre with established cultural institutions such as the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Opera. Let's see five tourist attractions in Pittsburgh, Pennsyl...

Pocono Mountains - Pocono Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania The Pocono Mountains are a geographical, geological, and cultural region located in northeastern Pennsylvania, United States. there's something strange about this bottle
calling me at 4 am
telling me that everything's ok
she's not laying down with him
there's something strange about these raindrops
they can't wash away my pain
how her memory was left behind
but didn't even leave a stain
it's kinda like...
Valdosta Rain, it's pouring down
it's coming in like a hurricane, i'm not ready for it
you only come on the days, she ain't around
don't you bring down this pain, in my temporary drought
cuz' getting over her, is driving me insane
it's kinda like, counting drops of valdosta rain
there's something strange about this picture
staring back at me
i can still hear her laughing
as we danced on new year's eve
there's something strange about her leaving
i can't explain what's going on
i thought i was over her
but i guess that i was wrong
it must be...
Valdosta Rain, it's pouring down
it's coming in like a hurricane, i'm not ready for it
you only come on the days, she ain't around
don't you bring down this pain, in my temporary drought
cuz' getting over her, is driving me insane
it's kinda like, counting drops of valdosta rain
can somebody please tell me
what the hell is going on
why one day i see the sunshine
and the next there's a storm
like...
valdosta rain, it's pouring down
it's coming in like a hurricane, i'm not ready for it
you only come on the days, she ain't around
don't you bring down this pain, in my temporary drought
