Tyler

Tyler is an English (old English) word which means door keeper of an inn. It is also thought to be a derived occupational name derived from "tiler", one who makes tiles. It is used both as a surname, and as given name for both genders. Among the earliest recorded use of the surname is from the 14th century; Wat Tyler of Kent, South East England.

Pocket

A pocket is a bag- or envelope-like receptacle either fastened to or inserted in an article of clothing to hold small items. Pockets may also be attached to luggage, backpacks, and similar items. In older usage, a pocket was a separate small bag or pouch.

Origins

In European clothing pockets began by being hung like purses from a belt, which could be concealed beneath a coat or jerkin to discourage pickpocketing and reached through a slit in the outer garment.

The word appears in Middle English as pocket, and is taken from a Norman diminutive of Old French poke, pouque, modern poche, cf. pouch. The form "poke" is now only used dialectically, or in such proverbial sayings as "a pig in a poke".

Historically, the term "pocket" referred to a pouch worn around the waist by women in the 17th to 19th centuries, mentioned in the rhyme Lucy Locket.

Types

A watch pocket or fob pocket is a small pocket designed to hold a pocket watch, sometimes found in men's trousers and waistcoats and in traditional blue jeans. However, due to the decline in popularity of pocket watches, these pockets are rarely used for their intended purpose.

Adult Swim

Adult Swim (stylized as [adult swim] or [as]) is an American cable network that shares channel space with Cartoon Network, both of which are owned by Turner Broadcasting System, a division of Time Warner, Inc., every night from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Eastern and Pacific Time in the United States. The network is programmed by Williams Street Studios, a division of Turner Broadcasting System, which also developed two prior television programming blocks seen on Cartoon Network: Toonami (which later became a block on Adult Swim in 2012) and Miguzi. The name comes from a phrase used by public swimming pools to label designated times when children are restricted from using the facilities in favor of adults: "Adult Swim".

Debuting as a programming block on Cartoon Network in 2001, Adult Swim was established as alternative programming during the late night hours when Cartoon Network's primary target audience, children and teenagers between the ages of 7–15, would normally be sleeping. Much of Adult Swim's general content is known for its risqué, unorthodox and often bizarre presentation, while many of the series features are developed in stark contrast with traditional American television programs. The network was granted its own Nielsen ratings report due to differing target demographics, and broadcasts in countries such as Australia and New Zealand. The block features stylistically varied animated and live-action shows including original programming, syndicated series mainly consisting of Fox animated programming, short films, OVAs, and Japanese anime, generally with minimal or no editing for content.

Eric André

Eric André (born April 4, 1983) is an American actor, comedian and television host. He is the host of The Eric Andre Show on Adult Swim and plays Mike on the FXX series Man Seeking Woman.

Early life

André's father is Haitian and his mother is an American Jew. He identifies as Black and Jewish. André graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts in 2005, where he played the double bass.

Career

He is the creator and host of The Eric André Show, a talk-show parody series on Cartoon Network's late night programming block Adult Swim. He co-starred as Mark on the short-lived ABC comedy series Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, and guest-starred on 2 Broke Girls as Deke, Max's love interest and fellow pastry student.

He plays Mike in the FXX comedy series Man Seeking Woman, which premiered in 2015. On March 3, 2015, Man Seeking Woman was renewed for a 10-episode second season, slated to air in 2016.

The Eric Andre Show

The Eric Andre Show is an American comedy television series on Cartoon Network's late-night programming block, Adult Swim. The show premiered in the United States on May 20, 2012, and is a parody of low-budget public-access talk shows. The series is hosted by comedian Eric André along with comedian Hannibal Buress, who serves as André's sidekick.Gary Anthony Williams served as the announcer in the first season, being replaced by Tom Kane and Robert Smith in the second and third seasons, respectively.

A total of 30 episodes have aired over the course of three seasons. On December 31, 2012, The Eric Andre Show did a 45-minute live New Year's special, titled The Eric Andre New Year's Eve Spooktacular. In April 2015 André made a special surprise appearance on Conan to announce the show has been renewed for a fourth season.

Development and production

In a 2012 interview Eric André mentioned being a big fan of Space Ghost Coast to Coast, a series that has previously aired on Cartoon Network and later Adult Swim, which was a major influence on him while developing the series. Before shooting André would re-watch several episodes of Space Ghost Coast to Coast in a row in order to "absorb as much Space Ghost" as he could. André would also ask executive producer and Adult Swim president Mike Lazzo several questions about the series, as he was an executive during its production run. To André's surprise Lazzo had no interest in Space Ghost Coast to Coast.
