Germany was a country we fell in love with. Having spent a lot of time in SE Asia, we felt the need for a change of pace and Germany was just that. Recently we had the opportunity to visit Europa-Park, the largest theme park in Germany and second most popular theme resort in all of Europe.
This was the perfect opportunity for us to rekindle our childhood passion for rides. With over eleven different roller coasters alone we quickly realized we had never been to such a big theme park.
What we found cool was that the theme park was divided into different European countries. If you can't visit all of Europe going to Europa Park is like getting little slivers of it all.
Accommodating up to 50,000 guests per day, we were fortunate we didn't come during peak season; however, it was still crowded.
Overall, the weather was perfect, the rides were fun and it is an experience we won't forget anytime soon.
This is a bit of a surprise. We have an eight hour wait for a flight in Frankfurt, so instead of just hanging around in the airport, which was our original plan, we decided to drop our bags off and come into the city.
That pretty much wraps up our little visit to Frankfurt. We spent maybe three or four hours just walking around and it was really nice to just see the city without much of an agenda.
I came here with quite low expectations to be perfectly honest. I had heard more or less this is just a financial hub but it ended up being quite charming here in Frankfurt and I'm definitely going to miss Germany. I've had a wonderful time traveling around the country.
We aren't having much luck with the weather today. It is really rainy here in Freiburg. It is Easter weekend but we are out an exploring and we want to show you the city. Let's go have a tour.
One of my first impressions of Freiburg is that it is such a great city to walk around in. That's all we've been doing so far. It's very picturesque. There are cobbled streets and it is also very historic.
Thankfully, the weather has shifted dramatically for the better. Earlier we had been rained out, so we had to head back into the hotel because it was cold and windy. Now we're seeing a few patches of blue skies, so we're going to keep exploring around Freiburg.

The newest structure on the premises, built in 1930, is the Pergamon Museum. Here you can explore the art of numerous cultures, or wander through a replica of the Ishtar Gate.

Travel video about the Romantic Road in Germany.
Thousands of years of history is experienced by those who travel Germany’s Romantic Road with its world famous historic cities, fortresses and palaces, from Würzburg to Neuschwanstein Castle. The picturesque Baroque town of Würzburg is located on the River Main amid the Franconian wine region and is dominated by the mighty Marienberg Fortress. The Celts created a fortress that subsequent rulers gradually extended and the oldest church in Franconia, including a massive watchtower, continues to be protected by several huge walls. Tauberbischofsheim is one of the oldest cities in the popular Tauber Valley that was once completely walled. Missionary bishop, Boniface, founded Germany’s first women's monastery in Germany in 735 A.D. and installed a family member, Lioba, as abbess, who tutored the daughters of the nobility and the Free Francs. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is where Germany’s Middle Ages have been preserved up to the present day with huge entrance gates and high walls that lead into the former imperial city.
In 1868, Bavarian King Ludwig The Second had a dream come true in Allgäu, southern Germany: Castle Neuschwanstein, the realisation of his amazing world of fantasy.
This fairytale castle was in construction for seventeen years and in every way the idyll of ancient German knighthood.
The wealth of occidental history, art and culture makes a journey on the Romantic Road a most fascinating adventure into the past. A dream journey through a country and its history.

Bavaria is the largest German territory. Its typical atmosphere is given by little towns and villages. Wooden shells, high red tiled roofs with many little skylights, old signboards, town walls, ancient churches, domes and steeples, narrow streets and riverbanks, huge green areas and many flowers take us to a wonderfully calm and merry world. Beside the well known Octoberfest holder Munich and the medieval older town look keeper Nuremberg, Regensburg and Augsburg there are castles like the romantic Neuschwanstein that are waiting for the traveller. There are glittering lakes in the green pinewood like the Königssee and the Chiemsee, and mountaintops like the snow-capped Zugspitze. Though Bavaria is only one territory within the German territories everyone can feel it is quite different from the others. It is richer, friendlier and its atmosphere is more delightful than the country’s other territories.

Recently we had the opportunity to visit Europa-Park, the largest theme park in Germany and second most popular theme resort in all of Europe.
This was the perfect opportunity for us to rekindle our childhood passion for rides. With over eleven different roller coasters alone we quickly realized we had never been to such a big theme park.
What we found cool was that the theme park was divided into different European countries. If you can't visit all of Europe going to Europa Park is like getting little slivers of it all.
Accommodating up to 50,000 guests per day, we were fortunate we didn't come during peak season; however, it was still crowded.
Overall, the weather was perfect, the rides were fun and it is an experience we won't forget anytime soon.
This is a bit of a surprise. We have an eight hour wait for a flight in Frankfurt, so instead of just hanging around in the airport, which was our original plan, we decided to drop our bags off and come into the city.
That pretty much wraps up our little visit to Frankfurt. We spent maybe three or four hours just walking around and it was really nice to just see the city without much of an agenda.
I came here with quite low expectations to be perfectly honest. I had heard more or less this is just a financial hub but it ended up being quite charming here in Frankfurt and I'm definitely going to miss Germany. I've had a wonderful time traveling around the country.
We aren't having much luck with the weather today. It is really rainy here in Freiburg. It is Easter weekend but we are out an exploring and we want to show you the city. Let's go have a tour.
One of my first impressions of Freiburg is that it is such a great city to walk around in. That's all we've been doing so far. It's very picturesque. There are cobbled streets and it is also very historic.
Thankfully, the weather has shifted dramatically for the better. Earlier we had been rained out, so we had to head back into the hotel because it was cold and windy. Now we're seeing a few patches of blue skies, so we're going to keep exploring around Freiburg.

Tauberbischofsheim is one of the oldest cities in the popular Tauber Valley that was once completely walled. Missionary bishop, Boniface, founded Germany’s first women's monastery in Germany in 735 A.D. and installed a family member, Lioba, as abbess, who tutored the daughters of the nobility and the Free Francs. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is where Germany’s Middle Ages have been preserved up to the present day with huge entrance gates and high walls that lead into the former imperial city.
In 1868, Bavarian King Ludwig The Second had a dream come true in Allgäu, southern Germany: Castle Neuschwanstein, the realisation of his amazing world of fantasy.
This fairytale castle was in construction for seventeen years and in every way the idyll of ancient German knighthood.

Bavaria is the largest German territory. Its typical atmosphere is given by little towns and villages. Wooden shells, high red tiled roofs with many little skylights, old signboards, town walls, ancient churches, domes and steeples, narrow streets and riverbanks, huge green areas and many flowers take us to a wonderfully calm and merry world. Beside the well known Octoberfest holder Munich and the medieval older town look keeper Nuremberg, Regensburg and Augsburg there are castles like the romantic Neuschwanstein that are waiting for the traveller. There are glittering lakes in the green pinewood like the Königssee and the Chiemsee, and mountaintops like the snow-capped Zugspitze. Though Bavaria is only one territory within the German territories everyone can feel it is quite different from the others. It is richer, friendlier and its atmosphere is more delightful than the country’s other territories.

German police are investigating a collision in which a Tesla vehicle, reportedly operating on autopilot, rear-ended a Danish tourist coach on an autobahn outside Hamburg on Thursday.The car manufacturer denies its self-driving system was to blame for the crash. “The car driver stated that he had used the autopilot of the car. Why this did not work now has to be reviewed,” a Ratzeburg police statement said.The driver of the car was treated for minor injuries. The cost of the crash, which happened near the town of Ratzeburg, is estimated in the region of €55,000.
However, Tesla says the bus’ movement made the collision “unavoidable”.
“We have spoken to our customer, who confirmed that Autopilot was functioning properly and that his use of Autopilot was unrelated to the accident,” a Tesla statement said, report Reuters.
A spokesperson for the company added: “We can only do so much to prevent an accident.”
While the exact type of Tesla car involved is unclear, the latest autopilot software in the Model S allows vehicles to “automatically” steer down highways, change lanes and speed in response to traffic.The manufacturer, owned by billionaire businessman Elon Musk, claims the technology will increase “the driver’s confidence behind the wheel with features to help the car avoid hazards and reduce the driver’s workload.”
The first fatal car accident involving a Tesla self-driving car occurred in May, when Joshua Brown, 40, was killed in a collision in Florida. The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into the crash between a Tesla Model S and a semi-trailer truck.
The investigation is focusing on the potential role of “any automated driving systems in use at the time of the crash.” It came on the back of information provided by Tesla, which suggested the autopilot could mistake bright surfaces for clear road ahead.
