Pounder started her professional career in New York City theater, where she appeared in The Mighty Gents, by playwright Richard Wesley, and Open Admissions on Broadway. She moved to Los Angeles in 1982. Pounder starred in the film Bagdad Café, and has made smaller appearances in many other successful films. She has focused primarily on her television career. In the early 1980s, Pounder first appeared in guest roles on Hill Street Blues, and then on several popular shows (The Cosby Show, RoboCop 3, L.A. New Orleans (/nuː ˈɔːrlɪnz/,/nuː ˈɔːrliənz/, /nuː ɔːrˈliːnz/, or /ˈnɔːrlənz/; French: La Nouvelle-Orléans [la nuvɛlɔʁleɑ̃]) is a major United States port and the largest city and the center of the metropolitan area in the state of Louisiana. The population of the city was 343,829 as of the 2010 U.S. Census. The New Orleans metropolitan area (New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area) had a population of 1,167,764 in 2010 and was the 46th largest in the United States. The New Orleans–Metairie–Bogalusa Combined Statistical Area, a larger trading area, had a 2010 population of 1,452,502.
The city is named after the Duke of Orleans, who reigned as Regent for Louis XV from 1715 to 1723, as it was established by French colonists and strongly influenced by their European culture. It is well known for its distinct French and Spanish Creole architecture, as well as its cross-cultural and multilingual heritage. New Orleans is also famous for its cuisine, music (particularly as the birthplace of jazz), and its annual celebrations and festivals, most notably Mardi Gras, dating to French colonial times. The city is often referred to as the "most unique" in the United States.

Led by Special Agent in Charge Dwayne Cassius Pride, a former sheriff's deputy, the New Orleans NCIS office handles cases from the Mississippi River to the Texas Panhandle. Living and working out of his office, Pride heads a small team consisting of Special Agent Christopher LaSalle, Special Agent Meredith Brody, and Special Agent Sonja Percy. LaSalle, who was recruited by Pride from the sheriff's office, is a ladies' man who lives and breathes law enforcement; Brody, a transfer from the Great Lakes field office, has worked as a Special Agent Afloat and is keen to leave her past behind as she moves to New Orleans; Percy is a former ATF agent and the team's newest member who wants something more permanent than undercover work. The team are assisted by Dr. Loretta Wade and Sebastian Lund, forensic investigators assigned to the Jefferson Parish Medical Examiners Office, and Patton Plame, an NCIS computer specialist and freelance agent.
Det. Claudette Wyms, no nonsense Detective from TV series The Shield, as portrayed by the incomparable C.C.H. Pounder, dominated the show with her withering look and destructive one-liners. This video is a tribute to Pounder's performance in season one of The Shield. It's unbelievable there aren't more tributes to her. Wyms will be remembered as one of TV's finest characters.

Out of Rosenheim (Bagdad Café) is a look into the minds and lives of some people most of us have met but few of us know much about. This movie exemplifies how one person in the right place can affect a community of lives. The Adlons seem to express the view that all change and "magic" comes from hard work and mutual acceptance. A well-crafted view of the lives of tourists everywhere and the difficulties they can face. A Whimsical and lovingly Photographed look at the vast wasteland that is too often ignored by much of humanity.
