New Tricks is a British procedural comedy-drama that follows the work of the fictional Unsolved Crime and Open Case Squad (UCOS) of the Metropolitan Police Service. Originally led by Detective Superintendent Sandra Pullman, it is made up of retired police officers recruited to reinvestigate unsolved crimes. There have been cast changes, but the squad always consists of three men with a female boss. The series title is taken from the proverb "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". In February 2015, BBC One announced the show would end after series 12, which comprises 10 episodes.
New Tricks began as a one-off episode broadcast on 27 March 2003. This attracted sufficient viewers for the BBC to commission a series of six episodes, which began on 1 April 2004. Eight-episode series were subsequently commissioned for 2005, 2006 and 2007. A fifth series was commissioned by the BBC after the audience share rose week upon week for the previous series. In 2007, an episode from the fourth series received viewing figures of 9.25 million, becoming the second most watched programme on BBC One that week, and the most watched New Tricks episode to that point. The fifth series continued this good run - on two occasions it was the most watched programme in Britain for the week, and the seventh episode gained a new series high rating of 9.36 million - second only to the X Factor that week. The fifth series aired from 7 July to 25 August 2008. The sixth series finished location filming on 8 May 2009 in Central London and began airing on 16 July 2009. The opening episode of series six was watched by 8.07 million, despite clashing with Five's The Mentalist (1.64m) and ITV's Living With Michael Jackson (3.64m). The second episode clashed with The Mentalist and the relaunch of The Bill on ITV, and was watched by 7.59 million.
Old Dogs was an American country music supergroup composed of singers Waylon Jennings, Mel Tillis, Bobby Bare, and Jerry Reed. Signed in 1998 to Atlantic Records, Old Dogs recorded a self-titled studio album for the label that year. The album's content was written primarily by author, poet, and songwriter Shel Silverstein. Most of the group's songs were based on the realization of aging, after Bare told Silverstein that there were "no good songs about growing old." The album was recorded live in studio, so audience applause can be heard between the tracks. The two discs come in different cases, and has different album art for them. The album was also issued as a single disc.
All songs written by Shel Silverstein; "She'd Rather Be Homeless", co-written by Anne Dailey.
Old Dogs & New Tricks is a web series created by Leon Acord, and starring Acord, Curt Bonnem, David Pevsner and Jeffrey Patrick Olson. The comedy-drama series is about four middle aged gay men living in "youth-obsessed West Hollywood".
Leon Acord stars as Nathan Adler, a 50-year-old gay talent agent whose closest friends include: Brad King (Curt Bonnem), who was a "one-hit wonder" in the late 1980s; Ross Stein (David Pevsner), a former TV leading man in the 1990s; and Al "Muscles" Carter (Jeffrey Patrick Olson), a personal trainer.
Old Dogs & New Tricks has featured guest stars including Greg Louganis, Thom Bierdz, Terri Garber, Ian Buchanan, Patrick Bristow, Rutanya Alda, Kathryn Leigh Scott, Gloria Gifford and Michael Kearns.
The series premiered in January 2012 on YouTube. It was later released on DVD by Wolfe Video, and then made available on Hulu in December 2013.
The first season consists of five episodes, the second season is ten episodes, and the third season is eight episodes plus a special, "WeHo Horror Story". A 2015 Indiegogo online fundraiser secured enough to fund a "4th & Final Season", scheduled for release in 2016.
The Old Dogs was a country supergroup.

"Old Dog, New Tricks" is the nineteenth episode of the fifth season of the American musical television series Glee, and the one-hundred-seventh episode overall. Written by starring actor Chris Colfer and directed by Bradley Buecker, it aired on Fox in the United States on May 6, 2014. The episode featured three special guest stars: June Squibb, Billy Dee Williams, and Tim Conway.
Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer), at dinner with his friends, asks them to join him at a matinee on Monday, but all have other plans. Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) discovers that gossip is already flying about her recent absence from Funny Girl, and that the producers are furious. Santana Lopez (Naya Rivera) offers to be Rachel's publicist, and suggests they find a charitable cause; when Rachel sees a woman stuffing her dog into a bag and remonstrates with her for abusing the animal, she realizes she's found her cause.
Kurt is on duty at the Spotlight Diner when an elderly woman asks him to put up a poster for a production of Peter Pan at the Lexington Home for Retired Performers, where she lives. She notices he's feeling down, and offers to listen to his troubles. Afterward, he learns that she is Maggie Banks (June Squibb), a former Broadway star, and she invites him to watch their rehearsals.

Old dogs love learning and training. If you have an older dog, one of the best things you can do for her is to keep her mind sharp. Older dogs are great learners! Think about it: they aren't as wild as puppies (remember this early video from Levi?), they usually already have the basics down, and understand the learning process. Working with an older dog can be -- dare I say it -- even more fun than working with a young pup. Keeping a dog's mind active accomplishes a few things: it tires them out (yes, thinking can be tiring), it's great for keeping their good manners skills sharp, and it keeps them engaged in life and with you. What influences behavior? Several principles govern the behavior of all creatures including humans. Understanding principles and how they influence behavior is key to effective management. At work, we can force employees to work hard because they need money, just as we can force animals to move through a chute with an electric prod. Or we can create environments where employees work hard because they like their job and we can create environments where cattle move because they want to. Positive (want to) and negative (have to) reinforcement can be used to teach old dogs new tricks to increase profitability, reduce stress for animals and people, and improve the management of ecosystems. Remember positive is always best in shaping behavior. Unfortunately, most people focus on punishment when ...
The domestic dog is the most phenotypically variable species in the world. Breeds vary dramatically not only in shape, size and behavior, but also in patterns of aging and age-related disease. Dogs share our environment, experience similar diseases and patterns of aging, and have a health care system whose sophistication comes close to our own. Thus, dogs present us with a tremendous opportunity to identify the genetic and environmental factors that shape complex traits, from morphology, to behavior, to illness and aging. I will discuss our recent findings from large cohort studies on patterns of aging and age-related disease in dogs. These initial studies have laid the foundation for the Dog Aging Project. This large-scale project combines state of the art molecular biology, sensor techno...

Dog breeds vary dramatically not only in shape, size and behavior, but also in patterns of aging and age-related disease. Companion dogs provide us with tremendous opportunities to better understand the determinants of healthy aging in both dogs and people. They live in our own environment, each breed represents replicate samples of relatively uniform genotypes, and the quality of the medical infrastructure for dogs is second only to that for humans. This talk will explore the ways that the Dog Aging Project is working to identify the environmental and genetic factors that influence healthy aging in dogs. Daniel Promislow, University of Washington
