Leo (Davis Sweatt), a troubled young boy who's been alienated by his mother, begins writing to Stephen (Joseph Fiennes), a prisoner serving a 15-year sentence. Here's the wonderful play The Master Builder by Henrik Ibsen starring Leo Mckern in the leading role recorded by me in 1988 BBC Television.
The Master Builder (Norwegian: Bygmester Solness) is a play by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. It was first published in December 1892 and is regarded as one of Ibsen's most significant and revealing works.
Halvard Solness is the middle-aged Master Builder of a small town in Norway who has become a successful architect of some distinction and local reputation. One day while having a visit from his friend Doctor Herdal, Solness is visited by Hilde Wangel, a young woman of twenty-four from another town whom the doctor promptly recognizes from a recent trip. Soon after the Doctor leaves and Solness is alone with Hilde, she reminds him that they are not strangers and that they had previously met in her home town ten years ago when she was fourteen years of age. When Solness does not respond to her quickly enough she reminds him that at one point he had made advances upon her, offered a romantic interlude, and promised her "castles in the sky" during their encounter, which she believed. He denies this and she gradually convinces him, however, that she can assist him with his household duties and he takes her into his home.
Solness is also the manager of an architectural office in which he employs Knut Brovik, his son Ragnar Brovik, and Kaia Fosli. Kaia and Ragnar are romantically linked and Ragnar has amibitions to become promoted in his architectural vocation which Solness is remiss to grant or support. Solness also has a complicated relationship with his wife Aline and the two are discovered to have lost children as a result of a dangerous fire from years past. During this time period, Solness unexpectedly builds a closer tie with Hilda while she is in his home as she supports his architectural vocation and new architectural projects.
During the construction of his most recent project which included towering steeples, Hilde learns that Solness suffers from acrophobia, a morbid fear of extreme heights, but nonetheless encourages him to climb the steeples to their very height at the public opening of the newly completed building. Solness, inspired by her words, begins his ascent to the top of the steeples when he suddenly loses his footing and crashes to his death on the ground before the spectators collected for the opening of the new building. Among the spectators standing aghast at the sight, only Hilde comes forward with a gleeful expression on her face stating the words, "My Master Builder."

Russia's old world to me is a deeply atmospheric place, full of passion and romance. And, of course, at her heart stands St Petersburg - majestic, elegant and beautiful.
Having recently watched the new version of Anna Karenina (2012) starring Kiera Knightley, I was moved to create this video which shows St Petersburg as the perfect setting for the love stories of two great Russian writers Count Leo Tolstoy and Alexander Pushkin. The love stories of Anna Karenina and Onegin are both deeply moving and, as with many love stories, tragic too.
But as well as the romance of the people is the captivating and often breathtaking beauty of the natural settings, costume, architecture and interiors. Old world Russia - a country to inspire writers, musicians, choreographers and architects. An aesthete's paradise.
The background music is the 1st Movement Of Piano Concerto No.2 by Rachmaninoff. The movie excerpts are from Anna Karenina (1997) played by Sophie Marceau, Onegin (1999) starring Ralph Fiennes and Russian Ark (2002).

Sabrina is a 1954 comedy-romance film directed by Billy Wilder, adapted for the screen by Wilder, Samuel A. Taylor, and Ernest Lehman from Taylor's play Sabrina Fair (in the UK, the movie has the title Sabrina Fair). It stars Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn, and William Holden.
In 2002, Sabrina was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
Sabrina Fairchild (Hepburn) is the young daughter of the Larrabee family's chauffeur, Thomas (John Williams), and has been in love with David Larrabee (Holden) all her life. David is an oft-married, idle playboy, crazy for women, who has never noticed Sabrina, much to her and the staff's dismay. Sabrina then attends culinary school in Paris and returns as an attractive and sophisticated woman. David, after initially not recognizing her, is quickly drawn to her. David's workaholic older brother Linus (Bogart) sees this and fears that David's imminent wedding with a very rich woman may be endangered. If the wedding were to be canceled, so would a great corporate deal with the bride's family. So Linus tries to redirect Sabrina's affections, and in the process falls in love with her.
The ending contains Sabrina leaving for Paris on a boat, after Linus has told her to leave and never come back. In a board meeting, realizing his mistake, he manages to get on the boat, and they sail away together to Paris.

Joseph Alberic Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes (/ˈfaɪnz/; born 27 May 1970) is an English film and stage actor. The youngest of six siblings, his elder siblings are actor Ralph Fiennes; filmmakers Sophie Fiennes and Martha Fiennes; composer Magnus Fiennes; conservationist Jacob Fiennes, his twin brother; and archaeologist Mike Emery, his foster brother. He is a third cousin to explorer Ranulph Fiennes and eighth cousin of the Prince of Wales.

Leo - Trailer

The Master Builder (Norwegian: Bygmester Solness) is a play by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. Russia's old world to me is a deeply atmospheric place, full of passion and romance. And, of course, at her heart stands St Petersburg - majestic, elegant and beautiful. Having recently watched the new version of Anna Karenina (2012) starring Kiera Knightley, I was moved to create this video which shows St Petersburg as the perfect setting for the love stories of two great Russian writers Count Leo Tolstoy and Alexander Pushkin. The Master Builder (Norwegian: Bygmester Solness) is a play by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. It was first published in December 1892 and is regarded as one of Ibsen's most significant and revealing works.
Halvard Solness is the middle-aged Master Builder of a small town in Norway who has become a successful architect of some distinction and local reputation. One day while having a visit from his friend Doctor Herdal, Solness is visited by Hilde Wangel, a young woman of twenty-four from another town whom the doctor promptly recognizes from a recent trip. Soon after the Doctor leaves and Solness is alone with Hilde, she reminds him that they are not strangers and that they had previously met in her home town ten years ago when she was fourteen years of age. When Solness does not respond to her quickly enough she reminds him that at one point he had made advances upon her, offered a romantic interlude, and promised her "castles in the sky" during their encounter, which she believed. He denies this and she gradually convinces him, however, that she can assist him with his household duties and he takes her into his home.
Solness is also the manager of an architectural office in which he employs Knut Brovik, his son Ragnar Brovik, and Kaia Fosli. Kaia and Ragnar are romantically linked and Ragnar has amibitions to become promoted in his architectural vocation which Solness is remiss to grant or support. Solness also has a complicated relationship with his wife Aline and the two are discovered to have lost children as a result of a dangerous fire from years past. During this time period, Solness unexpectedly builds a closer tie with Hilda while she is in his home as she supports his architectural vocation and new architectural projects.
During the construction of his most recent project which included towering steeples, Hilde learns that Solness suffers from acrophobia, a morbid fear of extreme heights, but nonetheless encourages him to climb the steeples to their very height at the public opening of the newly completed building. Solness, inspired by her words, begins his ascent to the top of the steeples when he suddenly loses his footing and crashes to his death on the ground before the spectators collected for the opening of the new building. Among the spectators standing aghast at the sight, only Hilde comes forward with a gleeful expression on her face stating the words, "My Master Builder."

Sabrina then attends culinary school in Paris and returns as an attractive and sophisticated woman. David, after initially not recognizing her, is quickly drawn to her. David's workaholic older brother Linus (Bogart) sees this and fears that David's imminent wedding with a very rich woman may be endangered. If the wedding were to be canceled, so would a great corporate deal with the bride's family. So Linus tries to redirect Sabrina's affections, and in the process falls in love with her.
The ending contains Sabrina leaving for Paris on a boat, after Linus has told her to leave and never come back. In a board meeting, realizing his mistake, he manages to get on the boat, and they sail away together to Paris.
