Pentium is a brand used for a series of x86-compatible microprocessors produced by Intel since 1993. In its current form, Pentium processors are considered entry-level products that Intel rates as "two stars", meaning that they are above the low-end Atom and Celeron series but below the faster Core i3, i5 and i7 lines as well as the high-end Xeon processors.
The current Pentium processors have only the name in common with the early ones, and are in fact based on the Intel Core architecture, typically implemented by lowering the clock frequency and disabling some features, such as hyper-threading, virtualization and, partly, L3 cache.
The name Pentium is originally derived from the Greek word pente (πέντε), meaning "five" (a reference to Intel's fifth-generation microarchitecture employed on the first Pentium processors), with the Latin ending -ium.
During development Intel generally identifies processors with codenames, such as Prescott, Willamette, Coppermine, Katmai, Klamath or Deschutes. These usually become widely known, even after the processors are given official names on launch.
The Intel Pentium D was essentially a dual core variant of the once popular Pentium 4 CPU, but by the time it was released there were already other options available that were not only more popular and powerful than this new chip, but were far less power hungry too, leading many to overlook this CPU when it came to gaming. These days, they can be found littered around online auction sites for next to no money at all, so can this Pentium D 945 still actually play games? (Even though it was never considered very good anyway). The Pentium 4 is almost 12 years old, I have had several questions about how well it can handle todays games. Let this video put these queries to rest. We Benchmark Gmod, Bioshock Infinite, Killing Floor and Minecraft on a Pentium 4 535 with a AMD Radeon 5770. We then compare all of these results how these games run on the same graphics card with a newer Core 2 Duo E6300 Processor. If you have any questions please pop them below and I'll try to help as best I can.
Comparing Intel's i7 5960X to their Pentium G3258 might seem like a "David vs Goliath"-esque battle, but the results might not be so one-sided... With the Pentium II, Intel designed a CPU and cache which remained closely integrated, but were mounted on a printed circuit board, called a Single-Edged Contact Cartridge (SECC). In this episode of Byte size, I discuss the reasons behind this switch and also go into details on cache operations in the Pentium Pro, Xeon and Celeron processors, and how they differed from the Pentium II model. ☟Subcribe☟ https://www.youtube.com/user/nostalgianerdvideos?sub_confirmation=1 ✊Support Me! ✊ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/nostalgianerd?ty=h Visit my eBay Shop: http://ebay.to/1QQpYyy Buy From Amazon (affiliate): http://amzn.to/1OzCQWR ★Nerd Social★ Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/nostalnerd Face: http://www.facebook.com/nostalnerd Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/nostalgianerd Web: http://ww...

Drinking Game Idea: Take a shot everytime I say "Pentium" In all seriousness, The pentium used to be the top-dog, the king of the hill- the processor you wanted but couldn't afford. Now it is a name associated with cheap laptops for 12-year old girls who plan to do nothing but scroll up and down Facebook with them. But is this chip, the 20th anniversary Pentium G3258- any better than it's low-end brothers? We overclock the chip as hard as we can to find out. Keeping everything cool is the Corsair H100i. I am a hardcore AMD guy, but this chip Impressed me. Let me know if you have any questions or queries below!

When there is a storm inside
And your feet don't touch the earth
And you are trying to take fog
Into the tragedy of a moment
Your sleepy awareness
Giving out that screaming tone
You stay hammered
Under the screaming bells
And you wanna move the different spheres
And new taste of face
Chained under the rush of your thoughts
Your questions, your indecisive decisions
You concentrate on this movement
Into dying
Great moments of dying
Intoxicating nonsense for dreams
Hands fondling your breast
The light hands
Stop the feeling
