Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum has been open at their 1816 10th Street, Two Rivers, WI 54241, since November 2013, complete with a stunning view of Lake Michigan.
Self guided tours are available anytime during regular business hours. Guided tours of the museum are offered at 1pm and 3pm. Don't forget the Hamilton staff hosts educational demonstrations, field trips, workshops and offers opportunities for artists, printers, historians and other scholars to experience this vast wood type collection. Not only do thousands of visitors come through every year to see how wood type was made at the factory, students, artists, typographers and designers visit to take workshops and actually put their hands on and use the collection to create works of art and scholarship in our pressroom at the Museum.
The Beauty of Letterpress is presented by Neenah Paper and Crane® Papers as an online resource and showcase, featuring the best and most innovative letterpress work in the industry today. In addition, the community will be assisting the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in their efforts to relocate and effectively salvage a priceless piece of letterpress history. There will be monthly issues curated by prominent designers, highlighting their favorite projects on the site. There will also be an accompanying Beauty of Letterpress Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, each showcasing the intricate nature of the craft and the incredible results of this printing technique. Gaze-based Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is now greatly drawing people's interest. Today, users can use their eyes to move a pointer, to type texts and to control other interactive functionalities by simply gazing at a computer display. In addition to these traditional gaze-based interactions, an advent of a glasses type of mobile eye tracker enables us to design a gaze-based interactive system in a real environment, not only in a computer display. Museum Guide 2.0 is one of the applications at the cutting edge of such computer technology.
In CeBIT 2013, we present a new type of gaze interaction application, called Talking Places.

While staying in Albuquerque I visited the International Rattlesnake Museum where I met its Director Bob Myers. It's a fascinating collection of 34 types of rattlesnakes as well as other snakes species along with lizards, frogs and other reptiles. I think you could only get closer to a rattlesnake by holding one, however I preferred my observations through the glass. It was a very up close and personal experience and a great education.

The Type Museum is a unique and massive collection of artefacts representing the legacy of type founding in England, whose famous type foundries and composing systems supplied the world with type in all languages. The museum was founded in 1992 and is located in Oval, south London, England. It closed to the public in 2006 because of a failure to incorporate, lack of operating funds and financial security. It has since rebranded itself as The Type Archive the old website is defunct and the http://www.typearchive.org/ is the new version fronting the same charity.
Overview
The Type Museum is the final repository of many of the original forms, punches, matrices and patterns of some of the most famous and successful metal and wood type foundries in the world. It also holds a historic collection of presses. It is estimated that the collections include between five and eleven million artefacts.
The Museum's collection is unique in holding examples of successive generations of technology used for type design and manufacture, from hand foundry and machine composition, through wood type, to photography and film setting (which laid the foundation for today's digital typography).

We all try to stay away from parasites. But today we will come face to face with them, at Maquro Parasitalogical Museum. The only museum in the world dedicated to parasites. Here you can learn all about the creatures. Stuff like this gives us all the creeps. As you enter the museum you will face a glass case, showing various types of parasites perserved in 5% formulant.
Panels describing the various types of parasites that live in human beings. This panel here describes the life cycle patterns of the parasite. There are two kinds of parasites. The first one is directly transmitted to a human body. And the second type of parasite shows a man eating a piece of steak and the steak already had a parasite. The panel here describes the different kinds of parasites that spread across the country.
The first floor focuses on the general overview. And the second floor focuses more on the life cycle of the parasite. Here we have a dolphin brain infested with parasites. You can see the parasites that have fallen off of the brain. Here we have a 30 feet tapeworm. To get an actually feel of how long this tapeworm is, the museum exhibits a piece of string which is the actual length of the tapeworm.
Now we are going to talk to one of the visitors of the museum. "What is your name?" "Katsura Yukiko. This is my first time visiting and I am surprised to see so many parasites." "Which parasite caught your attention the most?" "The penis." As all museums go, there is a gift store in this museum as well. This is Rioko, showing you Tokyo.

On Day 5 in Taiwan, we ate breakfast at our hotel, and then headed straight to the Taiwan National Palace Museum, one of the most extensive art museums in Asia, and one of the major and most important museums in China. The museum was huge, and there were a ton of people there as well - I guess a lot of the tour group buses come to the National Palace Museum. After arriving and buying out tickets, we went around and walked through the museum for about an hour - though we could have spent more time there, we had to keep on going. I took a lot of art history courses when I was in University, and at the museum, I remember quite a few of the famous Chinese paintings that I had studied during school - so the Chinese painting sections was my favorite part of visiting the Taiwan National Palace Museum.
After visiting the museum, we headed back to the metro station and eventually caught a bus at Jiantan station enroute to the National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine, a shrine in memory of all those who have lost their lives in various wars. Luckily we arrived just in time to see the changing of the guard ceremony taking place. The guards walked all the way from the street to the entrance of the shrine, and then changed positions with the new guards at the memorial and then walked all the way back. I thought it was a pretty good place to see in Taipei, and the guards ceremony was interesting.
After visiting the National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine we were all very hungry, so we went to eat shabu shabu at a restaurant not too far away. The food was very good, and we filmed a separate video, which I’ll publish soon. After lunch, since we were near the Shilin Night Market we decided to go check out a certain food stall that Ying had seen on the night we went to the market a few days previously. Luckily they happened to be open and they were selling the cakes even though the night market had not yet opened. The cake was extremely soft and fluffy.
After quite a long day of running around and doing things in Taipei, we headed back to Ximending area, and as Ying was doing some shopping, I decided to sneak away to eat dinner at Duck 1950 Restaurant - although they served goose - I read that they started off selling duck, and now sell Taiwanese goose. The braised goose was incredibly delicious.
That’s all for Dy 5, it was another long and fun day in Taipei, and I especially enjoyed the braised goose.

After visiting the National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine we were all very hungry, so we went to eat shabu shabu at a restaurant not too far away. The food was very good, and we filmed a separate video, which I’ll publish soon. After lunch, since we were near the Shilin Night Market we decided to go check out a certain food stall that Ying had seen on the night we went to the market a few days previously. Luckily they happened to be open and they were selling the cakes even though the night market had not yet opened. The cake was extremely soft and fluffy.
After quite a long day of running around and doing things in Taipei, we headed back to Ximending area, and as Ying was doing some shopping, I decided to sneak away to eat dinner at Duck 1950 Restaurant - although they served goose - I read that they started off selling duck, and now sell Taiwanese goose. The braised goose was incredibly delicious.
That’s all for Dy 5, it was another long and fun day in Taipei, and I especially enjoyed the braised goose.

This was our first trip to Poland and we dove into the capital headfirst. While our travels may have started in the charming Old Town, it wasn't long before we discovered that Warsaw has a cool artsy side. We visited bright neon museums in the art district, shopped in boutiques selling soviet-chic apparel, and got to experience the capital's legendary nightlife. It many ways it was a whirlwind visit, but it was also a fun introduction that made us curious to discover more of Poland in our future travels. Well hello and welcome to Warszawa. This week we are exploring the Polish capital. We've already been here a few days and it has been amazing. It has been such a pleasant surprise and unlike any part of Europe we've traveled in so far. So yeah, this week we're going to be highlighting 25 things to do around the city and we're excited to show you what it is all about.
We came to Warsaw with little to no expectations and the city completely surprised us. Our week in the capital was spent sampling Polish cuisine, learning about the city's past through museums and historical tours, and also dabbling in a bit of the nightlife. Warsaw is quickly rising through the ranks and we think it won't be long before travellers are flocking en masse. So if you're planning a trip to Poland, don't skip over the capital because there is more to Warsaw than meets the eye.

We had 3 days in Milan so we hit the ground running and tried to see and do as much as possible. We made time for major attractions like Il Duomo, Sforza Castle, and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, but we also veered away from the crowds in search of street art and interesting neighborhoods. This being Italy, we also tried to prioritize meals, sampling everything from pizza to risotto, and cappuccinos to aperitivos. Our trip to Milan, Lombardy was part of the Blogville project where we stayed in a local apartment and experienced all of the best cultural activities, museums, restaurants, arts and entertainment the city has to offer. This city guide is our best attempt to create a mix of best attractions and off-the-beaten-path activities that you won't necessarily find in a typical Milan tourism brochure.
20 Things to do in Milan Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript:
Our first stop was Il Duomo, which is the most recognized attraction in the city. The cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete.
So we've sat down at a little cafe and we're going to have our first Italian breakfast with cappuccino and sweet pastries.
Something that surprised us about Milan is that there is a castle right in the middle of the city. Sforza Castle was built in the 15th century by the Duke of Milan, and it then underwent several restorations and expansions in the following centuries. Today it houses several of the city's most prized art possessions, including frescoes by Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo's very last sculpture.
For some upscale designer shopping, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is the place to be.
So we just found a local little restaurant and we're going to be trying a traditional dish that is very popular in this city and in the Lombardy region. We are going to have Risotto alla Milanese.
The Colonne di San Lorenzo are the remains of Roman ruins that date back to the 2nd century. They are believed to have been part of a bath house.
Another fun activity to try in Milan is a boat tour of the canals. The city's canals are attributed to Leonardo Da Vinci, who in 1482 was called over by the Duke of Milan to help renovate the city’s canal system.
Milan's Navigli District is one of the liveliest parts of town especially when the sun goes down for dining al fresco.
So we've gone out for our first Italian Aperitivo. Which is kind of like a pre-dinner drinking tradition. Basically, you get yourself a cocktail for about 10 Euros and that gives you access to this massive buffet.
And that's all for our visit to Milan. We hope this video will give you some cool ideas of sights and attractions to check out.

Well hello from Northern Ireland. This week we are traveling around Belfast and we only have three days in the capital so we're going to try and cover as much ground as we possibly can and show you some of the highlights.
The RMS Titanic was the largest ship afloat at the time it entered service, and it was built by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. The Titanic Belfast exhibition, tells the stories of the Titanic's ill-fated maiden voyage in 1912 and it is one of the top attractions in the city.
Right now we're on board the SS Nomadic, the little sister of the Titanic, and we're going to take a full tour of the ship.

Apparently, aside from buying food there you can catch some live shows, go shopping for vintage items, jewelry. So we're going to head inside and see what it is like. And it is only open on the weekends.
Queen's University Belfast is one of the oldest universities in the United Kingdom. It also happens to have a really nice campus, so we decided to take a little stroll.
The Botanic Gardens first opened as a private garden in 1828, and for many years the public only had access on Sundays. Today anyone can visit and it's a beautiful place to walk around, especially if you luck out with sunshine.
So if you take a look at my pint over here you might be thinking I'm having Guinness. It does look a lot like Guinness but in fact it is Belfast Black. And I have to say it tastes just as good if not better.
For 360 degree views of Belfast, we recommend going to Victoria Square Shopping Centre, and riding the elevator up to the dome. This will give you a nice bird's eye view of Belfast.
So to wrap things up here in Belfast I'm going to mention three things I really liked about the city.
First off it is highly affordable. One of the best bargains you can get is a day pass for the bus. It's really cheap and it allows you to travel anywhere in the city unlimited usage.
Secondly, this is a very friendly city. Almost anytime we brought out a map we had a local coming up to offer help. And we just found that whenever we took taxi rides or were in restaurants locals really went the extra distance to make us feel welcome here.
And lastly this is a very walk-able city. Most of the attractions are clustered.
And that's it for our quick trip to Belfast! As you can probably see, our visit was fairly short so we didn't get to do it all. If you have any suggestions of other sights and attractions worth checking out around Belfast, feel free to share those in the comments below.

Well hello from Northern Ireland. This week we are traveling around Belfast and we only have three days in the capital so we're going to try and cover as much ground as we possibly can and show you some of the highlights.
The RMS Titanic was the largest ship afloat at the time it entered service, and it was built by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. The Titanic Belfast exhibition, tells the stories of the Titanic's ill-fated maiden voyage in 1912 and it is one of the top attractions in the city.
Right now we're on board the SS Nomadic, the little sister of the Titanic, and we're going to take a full tour of the ship.

While staying in Albuquerque I visited the International Rattlesnake Museum where I met its Director Bob Myers. It's a fascinating collection of 34 types of rattlesnakes as well as other snakes species along with lizards, frogs and other reptiles. I think you could only get closer to a rattlesnake by holding one, however I preferred my observations through the glass. This is the role play series I have been talking about for months. - Fixed a bug that kept defeated Pokémon at 1HP; these Pokémon will now return as fainted Pokémon. We’re working on rebalancing the training battle, stay tuned.
