Original Tommy's is a hamburger restaurant chain in Southern California, United States. It is known for its chili burgers.

History

The original location was opened on May 15, 1946, by Tom Koulax (October 26, 1918 - May 28, 1992), the son of Greek immigrants, on the northeast corner of Beverly and Rampart boulevards west of downtown Los Angeles. The stand, which still stands today, sold hamburgers and hot dogs topped with chili. At first business was slow, but started to pick up. During the 1960s, the entire lot at this intersection was purchased. Soon after, the northwest corner was acquired for expanded parking and storage of goods. Not long after that, a second service counter occupying the building at the perimeter of the northeast lot was set up. The food was essentially the same from both locations, except for longer lines at the original shack counter, perhaps for nostalgic reasons.

Campbell Martin

Campbell Martin (born 10 March 1960) is a Scottish journalist and politician.

He was previously a member of the Scottish National Party (SNP), and he was elected to the Scottish Parliament to represent the West of Scotland at the 2003 election, after having worked previously for Kay Ullrich, a former SNP MSP.

He was a prominent backer of Dr Bill Wilson who stood against John Swinney for the SNP leadership in 2003. He has been critical of the direction of the SNP since becoming an MSP, believing they are being dragged into the political centre away from their traditional left-of-centre position. He also believes the party is not vociferous enough in its advocation of Scottish independence.

He was suspended from the Scottish National Party on 25 April 2004 after publicly criticising John Swinney, and was expelled from the SNP on 10 July 2004, soon after Swinney had resigned.

After becoming an Independent MSP, Campbell Martin played a prominent role in fighting a number of decisions taken by Labour-led North Ayrshire Council. He has also continued his opposition to what he considers to be the centre-right re-positioning of the SNP and its advocacy of a 'culture of independence' rather than national independence.

Tisha Campbell-Martin

Tisha Michelle Campbell-Martin (born October 13, 1968) is an American actress and singer. She is known for her starring roles in the FOX television series Martin as Gina Waters-Payne from 1992-97; and as Janet "Jay" Marie-Kyle on the ABC television sitcom My Wife and Kids from 2001-05.

Early life

Campbell was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and raised in Newark, New Jersey, where she attended Newark Arts High School. Her mother, Mona (née Raye) Shockley (now known as Mona Washington), was a nurse, talent manager, gospel singer, and vocal coach. Her father, Clifton Campbell, was a factory worker and singer and as a chess master he works with underprivileged children on both the east and west coast. Her parents encouraged her love for music. Tisha has an older brother, three younger brothers, and a younger sister.

Career

Campbell’s first TV appearance was at the age of 6, in a 1974 episode of the PBS show The Big Blue Marble. As a child, she won many talent shows, going on to appear in such children’s programs as Kids Are People Too, Unicorn Tales, and Captain Kangaroo. At age 18, she performed in the musical feature film Little Shop of Horrors as Chiffon, one of The Supremes-like girl-group Greek Chorus, along with future Martin co-star Tichina Arnold. After graduating from the Arts High School in Newark, she moved to Hollywood, where she became a star on the short-lived series Rags to Riches. In addition she also starred in School Daze as Jane Toussaint.
