Steve Lovell

Stephen William Henry "Steve" Lovell (born 6 December 1980 in Amersham) is a former English footballer who played as a striker. Lovell played the majority of his career in the Scottish Premier League, turning out for Dundee, Aberdeen and Falkirk,

Career

Portsmouth

Lovell started his career in 1998 when he joined Bournemouth, but then surprisingly signed for Portsmouth for £250,000 despite only making a few brief appearances. He then went on loan to Exeter City, Sheffield United (where he scored once against Watford) and Queens Park Rangers.

Dundee

Lovell signed for Scottish Premier League club Dundee in the summer of 2002. He spent three seasons at Dens Park, scoring 35 goals in 98 competitive appearances.

Aberdeen

In the summer of 2005, following Dundee's relegation from the SPL, Lovell signed for Aberdeen. He made his Aberdeen début against Kilmarnock on 8 August and scored his first goal against Rangers the following week. Lovell went on to score a further nine times that season. Lovell formed the habit of scoring late goals for Aberdeen, becoming something of a "supersub". These late goals included two in separate matches against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, which maintained Aberdeen's unbeaten record against that opponent. Lovell also scored a consolation goal in the second leg of Aberdeen's UEFA Cup match against Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena.

Stephen

Stephen or Steven /ˈstiːvən/ is a masculine first name, derived from the Greek name Στέφανος (Stéfanos), in turn from the Greek word "στέφανος", meaning "wreath, crown, honour, reward", literally "that which surrounds or encompasses". In ancient Greece, a wreath was given to the winner of a contest (from which the crown, symbol of rulers derived). The use of the noun was first recorded in Homer's Iliad. The name is significant to Christians: according to the Book of Acts in the New Testament, Saint Stephen was a deacon who was stoned to death and is regarded as the first Christian martyr. The name has many variants, which include Stephan, Stevan, Stefan and Stevon.

In Middle English, the name Stephen or Stephan was pronounced as a bi-syllabic word — Step-hen or Step-han — much like a Scandinavian surname. Steve was pronounced as it is in Modern English. This etymological usage began a decline in the mid-19th century.

Steve is the common short form, while various diminutives such as Stevie and Ste are also used. Many family names are derived from Stephen: the most common are Stephens/Stevens and Stephenson/Stevenson (others include Stephen, Stephan, Staphan, Stefan, Stevin and Stever).

Let You Go

"Let You Go" is the second overall, and official lead single, taken from drum and bass duo Chase & Status' second studio album, No More Idols. The song features vocals from singer Mali, and was released as a digital download on 15 August 2010. The single debuted on the UK Singles Chart at #11, marking the duo's second most successful single to date. In July 2010, "Let You Go" was added to BBC Radio 1's A playlist.

Music video

The music video for "Let You Go" was directed by thirtytwo, made up of Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, and was released on 29 July 2010. The video features a TV talk show host, much like Jeremy Kyle, called Patrick Chase, played by British stage actor Glenn Carter. He is praised by the audience, particularly for his scathing insults about the guests on his show and his catchphrase "If you can't be good, be honest". The video then switches to Patrick Chase on a night out and we see his reckless and wild behaviour: he has sex with a woman who is not his wife while her young children are in the next room; gets drunk and buys drugs; snorts several lines of cocaine; picks up a prostitute and has sex with her while watching his TV show. We then see a fast montage of his double life: the adoration of his fans and his hedonistic other persona, including a minor car crash while driving under the influence. We also see him being a talk show host to cover up who he really is. The video ends with Patrick sitting in a make up chair, looking at a photo of his wife and children, before beginning a new show with his cheering fans surrounding him. Plan B makes a cameo appearance in the video as the drug dealer.
