Fresno Fuego beat BYU to reach postseason

The Fresno Fuego clinched their trip to the Premier Development League playoffs with a 2-0 win over the BYU Cougars on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Chukchansi Park. Fresno extended its unbeaten streak to nine matches, while also notching its fifth shutout of the season.

High school freshman sets records at USATF juniors

High school freshman Tia Jones of Marietta, Ga. set the national high school, world youth and world junior records in the prelims of 100m hurdles, finishing with a time of 12.84 at the USATF juniors at Veterans Memorial Stadium. She later placed second in the finals. --- Anthony Galaviz
