Arve Henriksen (born 22 March 1968 Stranda, Norway) is a Norwegian trumpet player, renowned for his distinctive, flute-like sound on the trumpet, inspired by the sound of the Japanese shakuhachi flute. He also sings; his unique wordless vocalising was central to Chiaroscuro, where he often sings in a soprano's range. The control over his head voice is such that in "Opening Image" he could quite easily be mistaken for a woman.
Henriksen was educated on the Jazz program at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium and later studied music pedagogy, while he played in «Bodega Band» (1987–88), «Luft» (1987–89), «Veslefrekk» from 1989, «Close Enough» 1990-92, «Nutrio» from 1990, and recorded with Bjørn Alterhaug and «Tre Små Kinesere» (1990). After graduating in 1991, he joined the «Trio Midt-Norge» and «Piggy Bop».
He has played among others with Misha Alperin, Jon Balke's Magnetic North Orchestra, Nils Petter Molvær, Audun Kleive, Trygve Seim, Terje Isungset, Christian Wallumrød and recently with Iain Ballamy's Food for Quartet and Supersilent, both bands signed on Rune Grammofon. He has also contributed to David Sylvian's Nine Horses project and his latest work, When Loud Weather Buffeted Naoshima.
The river Arve (French: L'Arve) flows for approximately 100 km (62 miles) through France, in the département of Haute-Savoie, and (for a few kilometers) in Switzerland. It is a left tributary of the Rhône.
Rising in the Graian Alps, close to the Swiss border, it receives water from the many glaciers of the Chamonix valley (mainly the Mer de Glace) before flowing north-west into the Rhône on the west side of Geneva, where its much higher level of silt brings forth a striking contrast between the two rivers.
The Arve flows through Chamonix, Sallanches, Cluses, Bonneville, Annemasse and Geneva.

Jan Bang (born 21 August 1968 in Kristiansand, Norway) is a Norwegian musician and record producer, known from several albums and collaborations with musicians like Morten Harket, Sidsel Endresen, David Sylvian, Nils Petter Molvær, Arild Andersen, Bugge Wesseltoft, Arve Henriksen and Erik Honoré.
Bang played with Erik Honoré in «Woodlands» (EP, 1988), and they have released two albums (2000, 2001). He has also contributed to albums with Bertine Zetlitz, Bel Canto, and has written music for the film Ballen i øyet (2000). In recent years he has played with Dhafer Youssef, and in 2004 he received the Gammleng-prisen i klassen studio, and together with musician colleague, Erik Honoré, he initiated «Punktfestivalen» in 2005.
He is one of Norway’s most accomplished and influential producers and the epithet electronics guru has stayed with him for a long time and with good reason. Bang is the kind of musical innovator and bridge-builder who consistently manages to balance progressive thinking with popular appeal. He is always looking for ways of moving music and people forward, and by creating new meeting places and musical intersections he is the kind of person who makes events like «Scene Norway» possible. In addition to hosting «Punkt», Bang will also contribute to the opening concert where he will perform with one of his many musical collaborators, the celebrated Norwegian trumpet player Arve Henriksen.

"Migration" from Arve Henriksen and Jan Bang, From "Cartography © 2008 ECM On "Migration", Henriksen unrolls a gaseous theme that periodically dissipates into the merest pinched tones-- minimalism's pervasive mark is not omitted here. The climactic swells of "Migration" have chafed edges, as if Henriksen's trumpet had a sore throat. He spits rapidly through the mouthpiece on "Ouija" to create a richly-textured, telegraphic stutter. But he's a focused, patient player, who miraculously condenses breathtaking themes from this almost-zoological diversity.

See the beautiful confluence of the rivers Rhône and Arve just west of Lake Geneva near the city of Geneva. The Rhône's waters are clear and glass like having come from the settled lake. The water of the Arve is cloudy with material carried down from the mountains. These rivers meet here a few kilometres from the centre of the city.

Try To Say Goodbye
Jory Eve
(I Still Know What You Did Last Summer)
I'm holding a letter that I wrote last night
Tryin' to remember what it says inside
The words are written but never been said
Your voice keeps calling in my head
I don't believe it's time
But I try to say goodbye
But I feel so lost inside
I don't know my name
And I can't erase what's weighing on my mind
It says I'd be leavin' on a redeye plane
But I know I'm coming back again
You've heard the story a thousand times
The song is playing in your mind
I'm asking myself why
Then I try to say goodbye...
But I feel so lost inside
I don't know my name
I can't erase what's weighing on my mind
I try to stay awake, trying to write the words
And I'm trying to write the word goodbye
... to say goodbye
But I feel so lost inside
I don't know my name
And I can't erase what's weighing on my mind
And I try to say goodbye
But I feel so lost inside
And I try to say goodbye
And I try...
And I try... to say goodbye
And I try to say goodbye
I try...
