Welcome to zFacts! Fair, Not Balanced
If one side is fanatical or just plain wrong, balance is no virtue. ZFacts takes on both extremes — left here and right here, Code Pink and the Tea Party. You won’t find that anywhere else. We focus on facts that shed light on key issues, not just media factoids.
Bernie's Smart. So What's He Up To? Blackmail?
Bernie's a hyper-smart political strategist. So he knows (and says) Trump would be an "unmitigated disaster." And he knows that lots of his supporters (22% according to Bloomberg) are planning to vote for Trump, even though Bernie says "I will do everything in my power and work as hard as I can to make sure that [Trump] does not happen" (April 7). Still Bernie will not say to his supporters "Don't vote for Trump, vote for Hillary."
There's something weird about Mr. Speak-the-Truth not speaking a truth he feels so strongly about. What's he up to? [Read more...]
Sanders' Next Step: Undo the Damage
Jun 22, 2016. "I am pretty good in arithmetic," Sanders said on June 7th, "and I know that the fight in front of us is a very, very steep fight." He's no quitter, and after another two weeks of fighting his very, very steep battle of arithmetic, today he announced his answer. "It doesn't appear that I'm gonna be the nominee."
I guess he checked wikipedia, subtracted 12.7 million from 16.5 million popular votes and figured he was a bit short, seeing no more primaries before the convention. So maybe it's time he started helping the Democrats instead of the Republicans? [Read more...]
Can the GOP Dump Trump with Superdelegates?
Jun 19, 2016. Kendal Unruh, a Republican delegate from Colorado is leading the Dump Drumpf (aka Trump—I'll let John Oliver explain) conspiracy for the Republican National Convention. She's organizing (at least since June 9) with a few dozen other delegates who hope to change the rules by introducing a "conscience clause" that would allow delegates to unbind themselves based on "personal or religious conscience." Hillary Nails It — Gains Momentum on June 7
Jun 8, 2016. Prior to June 7, Hillary had won 28% more popular votes than Bernie. On June 7, she won 33% more than Bernie.* She's now ahead of him by more than 3.5 million (and this counts all the popular votes in all the caucus states.)
She has only won 21% more elected delegates than Bernie, because the caucuses are stacked against her. They suppress 75% of the voters than would vote in a primary, and these [Read more...]
She’s Won, but Needs Your Vote Just as Much!
Hillary Clinton June 7, 2008 |
Jun 6, 2016. June 7, 2016. “In 2008 after Hillary lost North Carolina [back on May 6], she made it clear that our days of attacking Obama were behind us and that we were not to do anything that would make it more difficult for Obama to win a general election.” — Geoff Garin of Clinton’s 2008 campaign team.
Unfortunately, this year’s runner up, has announced he will continue attacking her till the convention, in spite of having no real chance. That’s why Hillary still needs your vote.
Exactly eight years ago, on June 7, 2008, [Read more...]

41% of Trumpsters Favor Bombing Fictitious Disney City
Jan 11, 2016. According to a recent poll, 41% of Trump supporters favored bombing Agrabah, the central (and fictional) location of the Disney film Aladdin. Update: 30% of Republicans and 19% of Democrats also favor bombing the Disney City. The gap is bigger for opposition. Only 13% of Republicans oppose bombing Agrabah, while 36% of democrats do. Hillary's supporters seem a bit sharper ... [Read more...]
So Trump wants to kill six-month-old terrorist daughter. Really?!
Dec 16, 2015. Trump says that "with the terrorists you have to take out their families." He doubled down on it in the Dec. 3 debate when Rand Paul questioned his plan. Trump replied, "So they can kill us, but we can't kill them? That's what you're saying?"
Trump's reason? "When they say they don't care about their [own] lives, you have to take out their families." That's to stop future terrorists. Obviously you can't kill the families ahead of time; you don't know who they are. So after the attack, kill the families to scare the next would-be terrorist. Let's think how that works … killing babies… [Read more...]

Why Did Sanders Put an Obama-Hater on the Democratic Platform Committee?
Jun 1, 2016. June 2, 2016. The democratic platform and convention are both in jeopardy. And the press has completely missed the surprising answer to the title question: Why did Bernie do this? It's the key to this whole mess.
Bernie gets to pick a third of the Democratic platform committee. That's unheard of. He promised his picks would “reflect the views of millions." Meet Cornel West—in Cornel's own words: [Read more...]
As Bernie Loses, Will He Be Breaking Bad?
Apr 22, 2016.
Not necessarily, and I sure hope not. But ...
“I’m sure he’s very angry. ... He’s even more competitive than I am. He couldn’t stand to lose a pickup basketball game in Burlington. He doesn’t apologize. He doesn’t back down. It’s not in his nature. This is going to be a hard transition for him.” — Howard Dean (almost Bernie’s twin*)
Robert Reich is telling Bernie’s army of trolls to “Get a grip,” and “tone down negative characterizations of Hillary.” [Read more...]

Who is Bernie? Find out before it's too late
Mar 4, 2016. What's his plan? A revolution? He's too smart for that. Does he care more about beating Republicans or beating the Democratic establishment? Here's the information you need to grasp the epic nature of this struggle.
Bernie won for Mayor of Burlington in 1980 and so began the Vermont "political revolution." During his tenure, the Coalition was formed that became the Vermont [Read more...]
Clinton's Speaking Fees -- No Corruption; She's Generous
Feb 28, 2016. Over the negative din of politics, it can be hard to hear what's positive. Hillary Clinton has given $17.6 million of her speaking fees to charity (see below). That's 26 times as much as she made on her three Goldman Sachs speeches combined, or 50% more than she made on her 51 speeches in 2014 and 2015. Before presenting the details, let me summarize.
- Her fees were not the least bit unusual given her stature.
- Over 100 lesser known Americans are also in the $200,000+ category.
- The Goldman Sachs fees were below her average fee.
- She gave $17.6 [Read more...]
Background Stories
Why the Stock Market Favors Democrats
Oct 20, 2014. Republicans claim Democrats are bad for business, but the stock market disagrees. It rose more than twice as fast under Obama as under Reagan. In fact since Reagan (1981) stocks have gained 13% under Republicans and 450% under Democrats. That's 35 times more, and they had six years less time. [Email the Fact Card] [Read more...]
Unemployment Claims, Lowest in 47 Years!
Oct 18, 2014. The Republicans left Obama with unemployment claims running higher than at any time since Reagan in 1982. Democrats (with the Republicans obstructing) reduced that to its lowest level in 14 years according to the Press. But, compared to the number of jobs, it's at its lowest level since they started collecting data in 1967. [Email the Fact Card] [Read more...]
Who are the Job Creators?
Oct 11, 2014. For at least the last 85 years, since 1929, every time the Democrats took over, jobs were created faster. And every time the Republicans took over, jobs were created slower. Ten times in a row is no accident. And the difference is huge. Why is that? [EMail the Fact Card] [Read more...]
