In my mad attempt to synthesize thioacetone, I stumbled upon a problem: I would need to make hydrogen sulfide. Unfortunately, at the time of this video, I didn't have any iron or aluminum powder to make the corresponding metal sulfides with (which are frequently used to make H2S), and the heated wax-sulfur method seemed too messy (you try cleaning melted wax off of your flasks!). So, I devised a new method of producing relatively pure hydrogen sulfide, which, in my opinion, is easier and somewhat superior when it comes to at- home H2S synthesis.
