The Pride of Partington film was created as a celebration for International Women’s Day 2016
The peer support Stronger Families Women’s group enable a wider involvement with the Partington community and present some of the key issues that they have found affect them, their families and the community.
Pride Of Partington is a locally funded and produced media production which captures the voices, stories and experiences of a range of Partington girls and women and encourages them to pass on words of advice and wisdom to each other, the next generation, and services that support the community.
The Trafford Stronger Families team, who have supported the group, have proven to be working to the principles of Asset Based Community Development work by involving many local partners in the process, also fully resourcing this initiative with locally based assets and the talents of Sophie Mahon, born and bred Partington Artist.
We sincerely hope that you view this film through non-judgemental eyes and that you celebrate this achievement, along with all those involved who have been willing to participate and share their Partington pride!

Three men, armed with a machete and a hammer, robbed a shop in Partington.
The men, wearing masks, walked into the Coop store in Partington Shopping Centre at around 7.50pm on Monday 30 December 2013.
They demanded staff and customers got to the floor while one of the workers was told to give them money. Cash was handed over before all three men ran off.
No one was injured.
All three had their faces covered wore dark hooded jackets and dark tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Constable Andy Warren from INPT North Trafford said: "The last thing both customers and staff were expecting was the sight of three men armed with weapons demanding they were given cash. Fortunately, no one was injured but a number of witnesses have been affected by it.
"Did you see these men run out of the shop and the direction they went in? If you did, please contact police as soon as you can. Please phone us on 0161 856 9168 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."

Partington is a town and civil parish within the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford in Greater Manchester, England, about 10 miles (16 km) to the south-west of Manchester city centre.Historically part of Cheshire, it lies on the southern bank of the Manchester Ship Canal, opposite Cadishead on the northern bank. It has a population of 7,327.
A paper mill built in Partington more than 250 years ago was the first factory in Trafford. The completion of the Manchester Ship Canal in 1894 transformed Partington into a major coal-exporting port and attracted a range of other industries. Until 2007 Shell Chemicals UK operated a major petrochemicals manufacturing complex in Carrington, Partington's closest neighbour, to the east. The gas storage facility in the north-eastern corner of the town was once a gasworks and another significant employer.
Shortly after the Second World War, local authorities made an effort to rehouse people away from Victorian slums in inner-city Manchester. An area of Partington extended as an overspill estate is now one of the most deprived parts of the Greater Manchester conurbation. The Cheshire Lines Committee opened a railway line through the town in 1873, but it closed in 1964.

@bobparti proves that all you need to get really good garlic is a shaft being pulled up through thirteen feet of steel via a 150-lb counterweight. The force smashed the garlic through mesh and into a cup, where the chef can easily go back to cooking:) Just set it and forget it.
A shaft running vertically through the thirteen foot tall structure is pulled upwards by a 150lb iron counter-weight, while the attached radial swing arm(containing the garlic clove at the radius end) is forced to travel along a stainless steel corkscrew of increasing pitch so that the arm travels at increasing angular velocity. the arm is stopped dead at the top of the corkscrew, and momentum carries a stainless steel plunger to crush the garlic through steel mesh. The product is caught in a cup at the end of another swing arm and presented to the user.

Hi Everyone. I’m Kate Gwinnutt the author of the Cardiff property blogs and sales and lettings director at Northwood Cardiff
A few landlords have been in contact recently asking about rent smart wale and since we are only a few months away from enforcement I thought it would be a good opportunity to do a video for you.
So firstly what is Rent Smart Wales? Well Rent Smart Wales is the new registration and licensing scheme set up for landlords and letting agents in Wales and was launched back in November by welsh Assembly Government. Landlords and agents now have until 23rd November this year to comply
The law itself means that anyone who owns and rents out private property in Wales will have to register via rent smart wales. If you are a landlord who manages the property yourself then you will also need to become licensed.
Landlord registration - Every Landlord, even if you don’t find the tenants or manage the property yourself, will need to be registered.
The easiest way to so this is online at www.rentsmart.gov.wales. You will need to provide your contact details and details of your rental property and pay the fee of £33.50
If an agent is manging the property on your behalf then they will need to become licensed and will be given a licensed number and card like this which they will be able to show.
So what about if you are managing the property yourself? AS well being registered you will also be required to obtain a license must be submitted, evidence of suitable landlord training provided and the 'fit and proper' person declaration must be completed.
What do you need to do to obtain a license? Complete the ‘fit and proper’ declaration and pay the fee of £144.00. You will also need to undertake approved Licensing training. This is being offered directly through Rent Smart Wales and details of dates and time can be found on the website – it is a one day course and the fee is £100. The training that a landlord must do in order to obtain a licence can either be done direct with Rent Smart Wales, or an approved course can be completed by a training provider authorised by Rent Smart Wales. Can be done online via rent smart wales, modules and assessment at the end. It can take up to 8 weeks for a licence to be granted so I you haven’t applied do so now!
Once a license has been granted it will last for 5 years, you must keep your keep your information up to date and comply with the conditions of the license.
