Swiss rider Christian Haller, aka Hitsch, is one of the most exciting transition riders to watch. This season he had an idea for a custom session. Check it.
“After competing and riding mostly halfpipe for the last couple of years I wanted to film some of the moves for an edit. Last spring a resort near my hometown called Corvatsch built a nice halfpipe and I thought this was the right moment for it. As halfpipe riding is nowadays mostly presented through competitions my main reason was to capture it as pure as possible. To me halfpipe riding is based mainly on flow and riding from wall to wall which I tried to showcase in an extended way. To say the least I had a lot of fun filming for this piece and breaking free from the programmed contest runs.” – Hitsch.

Swiss snowboarder Christian "Hitsch" Haller, usually known for his skills in the half-pipe, established a new world record for the highest snowboard air on a hip jump, reaching a full 11.3m over the coping. The record jump took place during the Suzuki Nine Knights "Perfect Hip" public contest on 2nd of June 2016 in Watles, South Tyrol in Italy.

An epic trip to interior British Columbia with the Giro snowboarding team

Kingfisher B.C. was my first ever heli trip and I will definitely remember this one for the rest of my life. I had the chance to join a tight crew of riders including Bryan Fox, Curtis Ciszek, and Nils Mindnich on a team trip for Giro. Not only were the riders were top notch, the media crew included some of the best names in the biz with photographer Adam Moran, cinematographer Nathan Avila and snowboard legend Seth Huot.
We headed out to British Columbia, Canada in late March and had a four-day strike mission to Kingfisher Heliskiing. I think I got something like ‘beginners luck’ as on our arrival there was a fresh layer of snow and a promising weather forecast for the upcoming days. I’ve been to B.C. before and kind of knew what terrain I could expect but still, I’ve never experienced anything like this before.
Growing up in the Engadine Valley in Switzerland, which is one of the most popular regions for freeriding in the country, I learned how to snowboard by hitting the side-country of my home resort day-in and day-out. Although I’ve been focusing on halfpipe contests over the past few years, I have always had the aim to progress my riding towards the backcountry. With this trip a huge opportunity opened up for me and I wanted to show what I’ve got. I felt really comfortable from the get go and started bonding with the crew right away. It was like being a little kid in the candy store once I saw the terrain and how easy you can access everything by helicopter. Standing on top of a mountain-face is a whole different deal than standing on top of a halfpipe. Analyzing your line and deciding which way to go down, how to manage your sluff, and perhaps which trick to do and where are things that I enjoy the most. On my last line of the trip, all the boys were standing on top of a face and had locked in a line that suited them. While the shadow was creeping in I was desperately searching for my way down the mountain and changed my mind constantly. In the end, I found this little line that started with a turn through two trees, followed by a little turn in a gully and ended with a decent size pillow hop down to the flats with a method. When something you plan works out the way you had imagined it’s the best feeling in the world. I am a conceptual person and therefore these kinds of things get me really excited.
In four riding days, I learned more than I could ever imagine. Having Nate Avila on the trip, who would help me initially with figuring out certain lines and telling me what looked good on camera and what did not was key. Meeting Bryan and Curtis who are like brothers from different mothers and I only knew them through snowboard videos – they were some of the best entertainment I’ve had in a long time.
I must admit the final run of leftovers down to the heli after a shooting spot, where we all could let it rip was one of the most fun things I’ve ever experienced on a snowboard. And of course, seeing my buddy and Giro Team Manager: Todd Kupke sending it down the mountain and eventually pulling a ‘Tomahawk Todd’ was one of the many highlights of trip. Kingfisher was truly king and I hope to be back soon. – Christian Haller

The 2014 Burton European Open presented by MINI came to an end today in Laax, where Swiss Ursina Haller and Iouri Podladtchikov won the 6 Star Halfpipe finals.
We witnessed an all-Swiss podium after the women's contest today -- Ursina was followed by Verena Rohrer and Carla Somaini. In the men's competition, it was Finnish Janne Korpi preventing a Swiss threesome; his last run was enough to secure the third place after Christian Haller (SUI).
Just like in yesterday's Slopestyle contest it was ladies first today, with 5 women dropping in. Enni Rukajärvi, who qualified in both the pipe and slope contest was still not able to start due to her knee injury from yesterday. Ursina secured her first spot with her second run, but it was her last run on which she improved herself massively, throwing out a Frontside 900 Tail Grab -- Backside 540 Mute Grab -- Frontside 540 Stalefish -- Backside Air Backside Grab -- Frontside 720 Tail Grab and receiving a 92.20 score. Ursina commented: 'It was such a great day riding and I am super happy that I took the top spot!' Verena Rohrer gave it all in her last run, and did improve herself, with a very stylish execution on her Frontside Stalefish -- Backside 540 Mute Grab -- Frontside 540 Melon Grab -- Method Air -- Frontside 720 Melon Grab, but it wasn't enough to beat Ursina's second run. Asking Ursina what's up next she revealed: ‚I will stay in Laax for a bit, get prepared for Sochi and work to improve some details, there's always some things we can get better!'
The World Snowboard Tour Halfpipe ranking top 5 hasn't changed with today's result, but Ursina moved into sixth place with her win today.
In the afternoon the men's contest commenced with 10 riders from 5 countries dropping in. Iouri immediately secured his top spot with his first run, scoring 86.30 and dominating the field. Iouri's ironclad run consisted of a Frontside 900 Tail Grab -- Backside 900 Mute Grab -- Frontside 1080 Tail Grab -- and Cab Double Cork 1080 Mute Grab. Christian's second run earned him 84.90 points and brought him close, but it wasn't enough. Iouri commented: 'I feel amazing, it's so great to ride here back home. Actually, this has been my first week riding back home, I haven't had the time to come up here and now it feels even better to come back after last year and to win here today.' Janne Korpi was satisfied coming in third, after also having competed in the Slopestyle finals yesterday.
Christian Haller moved into 1st on the Halfpipe rankings with his second place today, and Iouri came into seventh place with his win. Janne Korpi moved up to eighth place.
The World Snowboard Tour will continue on the 6 Star level with the X-Games in Aspen, CO from Jan 23-26, in the disciplines Slopestyle, Halfpipe and Big Air newly added this season. The final 6 Star event will be the Burton US Open presented by MINI in Vail, Colorado, where all 2013-2014 champions will be crowned.

Transworld Snowboarding is an American magazine focused on the snowboarding culture. It is published 10 times a year and features the sport, culture and lifestyle of modern snowboarding.
History
Transworld Snowboarding has been published since 1987 and is distributed internationally. It is the most widely-subscribed snowboard magazine in the world with over 1.3 million copies sold annually, compared to Snowboarder Magazine at 800,000 annually ). Transworld Snowboarding is under the brand of TransWorld Media, which also publishes the magazines TransWorld SURF, TransWorld Skateboarding and others. Ursina commented: 'It was such a great day riding and I am super happy that I took the top spot!' Verena Rohrer gave it all in her last run, and did improve herself, with a very stylish execution on her Frontside Stalefish -- Backside 540 Mute Grab -- Frontside 540 Melon Grab -- Method Air -- Frontside 720 Melon Grab, but it wasn't enough to beat Ursina's second run. Asking Ursina what's up next she revealed: ‚I will stay in Laax for a bit, get prepared for Sochi and work to improve some details, there's always some things we can get better!' The World Snowboard Tour Halfpipe ranking top 5 hasn't changed with today's result, but Ursina moved into sixth place with her win today. In the afternoon the men's contest commenced with 10 riders from 5 countries dropping in. Iouri immediately secured his top spot with his first run, scoring 86.30 and dominating the field. Iouri's ironclad run consisted of a Frontside 900 Tail Grab -- Backside 900 Mute Grab -- Frontside 1080 Tail Grab -- and Cab Double Cork 1080 Mute Grab. Christian's second run earned him 84.90 points and brought him close, but it wasn't enough. Iouri commented: 'I feel amazing, it's so great to ride here back home. Actually, this has been my first week riding back home, I haven't had the time to come up here and now it feels even better to come back after last year and to win here today.' Janne Korpi was satisfied coming in third, after also having competed in the Slopestyle finals yesterday. Christian Haller moved into 1st on the Halfpipe rankings with his second place today, and Iouri came into seventh place with his win. Janne Korpi moved up to eighth place. The World Snowboard Tour will continue on the 6 Star level with the X-Games in Aspen, CO from Jan 23-26, in the disciplines Slopestyle, Halfpipe and Big Air newly added this season. The final 6 Star event will be the Burton US Open presented by MINI in Vail, Colorado, where all 2013-2014 champions will be crowned.

Kingfisher B.C. was my first ever heli trip and I will definitely remember this one for the rest of my life. I had the chance to join a tight crew of riders including Bryan Fox, Curtis Ciszek, and Nils Mindnich on a team trip for Giro. Not only were the riders were top notch, the media crew included some of the best names in the biz with photographer Adam Moran, cinematographer Nathan Avila and snowboard legend Seth Huot.
We headed out to British Columbia, Canada in late March and had a four-day strike mission to Kingfisher Heliskiing. I think I got something like ‘beginners luck’ as on our arrival there was a fresh layer of snow and a promising weather forecast for the upcoming days. I’ve been to B.C. before and kind of knew what terrain I could expect but still, I’ve never experienced anything like this before.
Growing up in the Engadine Valley in Switzerland, which is one of the most popular regions for freeriding in the country, I learned how to snowboard by hitting the side-country of my home resort day-in and day-out. Although I’ve been focusing on halfpipe contests over the past few years, I have always had the aim to progress my riding towards the backcountry. With this trip a huge opportunity opened up for me and I wanted to show what I’ve got. I felt really comfortable from the get go and started bonding with the crew right away. It was like being a little kid in the candy store once I saw the terrain and how easy you can access everything by helicopter. Standing on top of a mountain-face is a whole different deal than standing on top of a halfpipe. Analyzing your line and deciding which way to go down, how to manage your sluff, and perhaps which trick to do and where are things that I enjoy the most. On my last line of the trip, all the boys were standing on top of a face and had locked in a line that suited them. While the shadow was creeping in I was desperately searching for my way down the mountain and changed my mind constantly. In the end, I found this little line that started with a turn through two trees, followed by a little turn in a gully and ended with a decent size pillow hop down to the flats with a method. When something you plan works out the way you had imagined it’s the best feeling in the world. I am a conceptual person and therefore these kinds of things get me really excited.
In four riding days, I learned more than I could ever imagine. Having Nate Avila on the trip, who would help me initially with figuring out certain lines and telling me what looked good on camera and what did not was key. Meeting Bryan and Curtis who are like brothers from different mothers and I only knew them through snowboard videos – they were some of the best entertainment I’ve had in a long time.
I must admit the final run of leftovers down to the heli after a shooting spot, where we all could let it rip was one of the most fun things I’ve ever experienced on a snowboard. And of course, seeing my buddy and Giro Team Manager: Todd Kupke sending it down the mountain and eventually pulling a ‘Tomahawk Todd’ was one of the many highlights of trip. Kingfisher was truly king and I hope to be back soon. – Christian Haller

The 2014 Burton European Open presented by MINI came to an end today in Laax, where Swiss Ursina Haller and Iouri Podladtchikov won the 6 Star Halfpipe finals.
We witnessed an all-Swiss podium after the women's contest today -- Ursina was followed by Verena Rohrer and Carla Somaini. In the men's competition, it was Finnish Janne Korpi preventing a Swiss threesome; his last run was enough to secure the third place after Christian Haller (SUI).
Just like in yesterday's Slopestyle contest it was ladies first today, with 5 women dropping in. Enni Rukajärvi, who qualified in both the pipe and slope contest was still not able to start due to her knee injury from yesterday. Ursina secured her first spot with her second run, but it was her last run on which she improved herself massively, throwing out a Frontside 900 Tail Grab -- Backside 540 Mute Grab -- Frontside 540 Stalefish -- Backside Air Backside Grab -- Frontside 720 Tail Grab and receiving a 92.20 score. Ursina commented: 'It was such a great day riding and I am super happy that I took the top spot!' Verena Rohrer gave it all in her last run, and did improve herself, with a very stylish execution on her Frontside Stalefish -- Backside 540 Mute Grab -- Frontside 540 Melon Grab -- Method Air -- Frontside 720 Melon Grab, but it wasn't enough to beat Ursina's second run. Asking Ursina what's up next she revealed: ‚I will stay in Laax for a bit, get prepared for Sochi and work to improve some details, there's always some things we can get better!'
The World Snowboard Tour Halfpipe ranking top 5 hasn't changed with today's result, but Ursina moved into sixth place with her win today.
In the afternoon the men's contest commenced with 10 riders from 5 countries dropping in. Iouri immediately secured his top spot with his first run, scoring 86.30 and dominating the field. Iouri's ironclad run consisted of a Frontside 900 Tail Grab -- Backside 900 Mute Grab -- Frontside 1080 Tail Grab -- and Cab Double Cork 1080 Mute Grab. Christian's second run earned him 84.90 points and brought him close, but it wasn't enough. Iouri commented: 'I feel amazing, it's so great to ride here back home. Actually, this has been my first week riding back home, I haven't had the time to come up here and now it feels even better to come back after last year and to win here today.' Janne Korpi was satisfied coming in third, after also having competed in the Slopestyle finals yesterday.
Christian Haller moved into 1st on the Halfpipe rankings with his second place today, and Iouri came into seventh place with his win. Janne Korpi moved up to eighth place.
The World Snowboard Tour will continue on the 6 Star level with the X-Games in Aspen, CO from Jan 23-26, in the disciplines Slopestyle, Halfpipe and Big Air newly added this season. The final 6 Star event will be the Burton US Open presented by MINI in Vail, Colorado, where all 2013-2014 champions will be crowned.

Swiss rider Christian Haller, aka Hitsch, is one of the most exciting transition riders to watch. This season he had an idea for a custom session. Check it. “After competing and riding mostly halfpipe for the last couple of years I wanted to film some of the moves for an edit. Last spring a resort near my hometown called Corvatsch built a nice halfpipe and I thought this was the right moment for it. As halfpipe riding is nowadays mostly presented through competitions my main reason was to capture it as pure as possible. To me halfpipe riding is based mainly on flow and riding from wall to wall which I tried to showcase in an extended way. To say the least I had a lot of fun filming for this piece and breaking free from the programmed contest runs.” – Hitsch.

“After competing and riding mostly halfpipe for the last couple of years I wanted to film some of the moves for an edit. Last spring a resort near my hometown called Corvatsch built a nice halfpipe and I thought this was the right moment for it. As halfpipe riding is nowadays mostly presented through competitions my main reason was to capture it as pure as possible. To me halfpipe riding is based mainly on flow and riding from wall to wall which I tried to showcase in an extended way. Kingfisher B.C. was my first ever heli trip and I will definitely remember this one for the rest of my life. I had the chance to join a tight crew of riders including Bryan Fox, Curtis Ciszek, and Nils Mindnich on a team trip for Giro. Not only were the riders were top notch, the media crew included some of the best names in the biz with photographer Adam Moran, cinematographer Nathan Avila and snowboard legend Seth Huot.
We headed out to British Columbia, Canada in late March and had a four-day strike mission to Kingfisher Heliskiing. I think I got something like ‘beginners luck’ as on our arrival there was a fresh layer of snow and a promising weather forecast for the upcoming days. I’ve been to B.C. before and kind of knew what terrain I could expect but still, I’ve never experienced anything like this before.
Growing up in the Engadine Valley in Switzerland, which is one of the most popular regions for freeriding in the country, I learned how to snowboard by hitting the side-country of my home resort day-in and day-out. Although I’ve been focusing on halfpipe contests over the past few years, I have always had the aim to progress my riding towards the backcountry. With this trip a huge opportunity opened up for me and I wanted to show what I’ve got. I felt really comfortable from the get go and started bonding with the crew right away. It was like being a little kid in the candy store once I saw the terrain and how easy you can access everything by helicopter. Standing on top of a mountain-face is a whole different deal than standing on top of a halfpipe. Analyzing your line and deciding which way to go down, how to manage your sluff, and perhaps which trick to do and where are things that I enjoy the most. On my last line of the trip, all the boys were standing on top of a face and had locked in a line that suited them. While the shadow was creeping in I was desperately searching for my way down the mountain and changed my mind constantly. In the end, I found this little line that started with a turn through two trees, followed by a little turn in a gully and ended with a decent size pillow hop down to the flats with a method. When something you plan works out the way you had imagined it’s the best feeling in the world. I am a conceptual person and therefore these kinds of things get me really excited.
In four riding days, I learned more than I could ever imagine. Having Nate Avila on the trip, who would help me initially with figuring out certain lines and telling me what looked good on camera and what did not was key. Meeting Bryan and Curtis who are like brothers from different mothers and I only knew them through snowboard videos – they were some of the best entertainment I’ve had in a long time.
I must admit the final run of leftovers down to the heli after a shooting spot, where we all could let it rip was one of the most fun things I’ve ever experienced on a snowboard. And of course, seeing my buddy and Giro Team Manager: Todd Kupke sending it down the mountain and eventually pulling a ‘Tomahawk Todd’ was one of the many highlights of trip. Kingfisher was truly king and I hope to be back soon. – Christian Haller

The 2014 Burton European Open presented by MINI came to an end today in Laax, where Swiss Ursina Haller and Iouri Podladtchikov won the 6 Star Halfpipe finals.
We witnessed an all-Swiss podium after the women's contest today -- Ursina was followed by Verena Rohrer and Carla Somaini. In the men's competition, it was Finnish Janne Korpi preventing a Swiss threesome; his last run was enough to secure the third place after Christian Haller (SUI).
Just like in yesterday's Slopestyle contest it was ladies first today, with 5 women dropping in. Enni Rukajärvi, who qualified in both the pipe and slope contest was still not able to start due to her knee injury from yesterday. Ursina secured her first spot with her second run, but it was her last run on which she improved herself massively, throwing out a Frontside 900 Tail Grab -- Backside 540 Mute Grab -- Frontside 540 Stalefish -- Backside Air Backside Grab -- Frontside 720 Tail Grab and receiving a 92.20 score. Ursina commented: 'It was such a great day riding and I am super happy that I took the top spot!' Verena Rohrer gave it all in her last run, and did improve herself, with a very stylish execution on her Frontside Stalefish -- Backside 540 Mute Grab -- Frontside 540 Melon Grab -- Method Air -- Frontside 720 Melon Grab, but it wasn't enough to beat Ursina's second run. Asking Ursina what's up next she revealed: ‚I will stay in Laax for a bit, get prepared for Sochi and work to improve some details, there's always some things we can get better!'

In the afternoon the men's contest commenced with 10 riders from 5 countries dropping in. Iouri immediately secured his top spot with his first run, scoring 86.30 and dominating the field. Iouri's ironclad run consisted of a Frontside 900 Tail Grab -- Backside 900 Mute Grab -- Frontside 1080 Tail Grab -- and Cab Double Cork 1080 Mute Grab. Christian's second run earned him 84.90 points and brought him close, but it wasn't enough. Iouri commented: 'I feel amazing, it's so great to ride here back home. Actually, this has been my first week riding back home, I haven't had the time to come up here and now it feels even better to come back after last year and to win here today.' Janne Korpi was satisfied coming in third, after also having competed in the Slopestyle finals yesterday.

The World Snowboard Tour will continue on the 6 Star level with the X-Games in Aspen, CO from Jan 23-26, in the disciplines Slopestyle, Halfpipe and Big Air newly added this season. The final 6 Star event will be the Burton US Open presented by MINI in Vail, Colorado, where all 2013-2014 champions will be crowned.

The 2014 Burton European Open presented by MINI came to an end today in Laax, where Swiss Ursina Haller and Iouri Podladtchikov won the 6 Star Halfpipe finals.
We witnessed an all-Swiss podium after the women's contest today -- Ursina was followed by Verena Rohrer and Carla Somaini. In the men's competition, it was Finnish Janne Korpi preventing a Swiss threesome; his last run was enough to secure the third place after Christian Haller (SUI).
Just like in yesterday's Slopestyle contest it was ladies first today, with 5 women dropping in. Enni Rukajärvi, who qualified in both the pipe and slope contest was still not able to start due to her knee injury from yesterday. Ursina secured her first spot with her second run, but it was her last run on which she improved herself massively, throwing out a Frontside 900 Tail Grab -- Backside 540 Mute Grab -- Frontside 540 Stalefish -- Backside Air Backside Grab -- Frontside 720 Tail Grab and receiving a 92.20 score. Ursina commented: 'It was such a great day riding and I am super happy that I took the top spot!' Verena Rohrer gave it all in her last run, and did improve herself, with a very stylish execution on her Frontside Stalefish -- Backside 540 Mute Grab -- Frontside 540 Melon Grab -- Method Air -- Frontside 720 Melon Grab, but it wasn't enough to beat Ursina's second run. Asking Ursina what's up next she revealed: ‚I will stay in Laax for a bit, get prepared for Sochi and work to improve some details, there's always some things we can get better!'

There is no doubt that the President has kept one promise. "Fundamental Change" has come to America. The only remaining question is, how much more judgment is coming on America and the world before our Lord and Savior returns to claim His own?

A Chihuahua-mix puppy was found in a Las Vegas airport bathroom with a handwritten note detailing that the dog's owner was fleeing from domestic violence and had run out of options, according to CBS News. The dog was found last weekend in the airport bathroom with an anonymous note that read,"My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn't afford me to get on the flight." ...
