Voice , ingredients, and cookware:
Hello, my name is Sofía
Vargas Aceves and today
I´ll be showing you how to make champurrado a prehispanic
Aztec beverage, which uses two of the most important ingredients,
Aztec cuisine used to use, which are chocolate and corn.
This recipe´s ingredients will be:
• 2 liters of water
• 2 liters of milk
• ½ a kilogram of corn dough
•
One hundred and eighty grams of chocolate
•
Two hundred grams of brown sugar or piloncillo
• 2 whole cinnamon sticks
For the required cookware you´ll need:
• The stove
• A medium deep pot
• A blender
• A strainer
• A Ladle
• A shovel and a grinder
First, you have to pour
the water into the pot. However, not all of it. That´s because we will be needing a cup of water from our two liters, later on.
Next you´ll just have to add the 2 liters of milk. Both cinnamon sticks, the two hundred grams of piloncillo or brown sugar, and the best part, all of the chocolate.
Afterward, what you will do is to start boiling up the mix. So set your fire until the maximum. The time you have to leave this mix boiling can vary, since with help of the grinder, you´ll be constantly mixing it until the brown sugar and chocolate are completely dissolved. Only after this happens, will you be able to lower a little bit your fire.
Meanwhile, we´ll be dissolving the ½ kilogram of corn dough or mass in the cup of water we set aside before. We will do this in the blender.
After you have the blender into place, turn it on.
Then you´ll just have to add the blender mix into the one in the pot. Just remember to add it if both the chocolate and brown sugar are dissolved, with the strainer help. If they haven´t yet, you can continue mixing both mixtures with the shovel, while having as mentioned before, an almost maximum fire.
Now, the only thing you have to keep doing, is to mix it, until you have the desired consistency, which is of gruel.
Finally, you have to serve the champurrado into any cup, or anywhere where you want to drink it.
Delicious, but hot enjoy it.
