The age old question when it comes to the ink jet printing of images.
Steps to achieve this:
Calibrate your monitor with a hardware calibrator so what you see is actually correct! Otherwise any editing you do is moot.
Out of the box monitor are NOT calibrated for image editing. They are set very bright, maximum contrast and tend to sway toward blue.
Print using ICC profiles for the Paper / Printer and Inks you are using.
Learn how to set up your CANON PRO-100 printer driver so you are actually printing through that ICC profile.
Use the PRINTO STUDIO SHOP plugin which makes the process pretty much fool proof.

Great printer the CANON PRO 9500 MKII!
Specially since it is one of CANON's MOST easy to refill printers!
It uses 10 colors including one Gray for great Black and Whites.
However if you look on youtube...... not much to find on this printer. Even though it is basically replaced by the PRO-10 which uses a similar ink set except for one extra shade of Gray and Chroma Optimizer at the expense of Red and Green as in the 9500, it uses the identical easy to refill cart, but with a different chip.
Inks and cart chip resetters are readily available from PrecisionColors for the PRO 9500MKII.
However as with any Pigment based printer, this one also suffers from degrees of bronzing and gloss differential.
In the second half of this episode I will how how to eliminate that problem.

After posting my Video on Prints made with CANON Aquarelle Watercolor paper on my PRO 3800, I received several comments and questions on whether the PRO-100 would be suitable printer to print on this paper.
I told them that probably not because the PRO-100 was a dye ink printer and this paper required a nice dense type Pigment based Matte Black ink, which any of the EPSON K3 ink set printers would feature.
Well, I deiced to just give it a try and here are the results.
CANON Aquarelle Watercolor 300gsm paper
Standard Top Feeder
Canon PRO-100
Color matching set to NONE in driver.
Paper Type PHOTO MATTE
Quality at STANDARD
Printed on Lightroom CC 2015 through CANON Photo Matte 2-3 profile.
Output PPI at 300 and sharpening set to MATTE on the Lightroom printer Module.
After drying the print I applied two coats of KRYLON Low Odor Glossy protectant spray.
Please let me know what you all think. I am planning on try one of the fine art paper choice and that will cause me to have to feed the paper through the rear feeder and use 35mm bolder which is fine with me.
I will see what difference between the two if any!

The CANON Color management tool is a free download for the PRO-100 and all other PRO CANON printers.

Calibrate your monitor with a hardware calibrator so what you see is actually correct! Otherwise any editing you do is moot.
Out of the box monitor are NOT calibrated for image editing. They are set very bright, maximum contrast and tend to sway toward blue.
Print using ICC profiles for the Paper / Printer and Inks you are using.
Learn how to set up your CANON PRO-100 printer driver so you are actually printing through that ICC profile.
Use the PRINTO STUDIO SHOP plugin which makes the process pretty much fool proof.

Specially since it is one of CANON's MOST easy to refill printers!
It uses 10 colors including one Gray for great Black and Whites.
However if you look on youtube...... not much to find on this printer. Even though it is basically replaced by the PRO-10 which uses a similar ink set except for one extra shade of Gray and Chroma Optimizer at the expense of Red and Green as in the 9500, it uses the identical easy to refill cart, but with a different chip.

After posting my Video on Prints made with CANON Aquarelle Watercolor paper on my PRO 3800, I received several comments and questions on whether the PRO-100 would be suitable printer to print on this paper.
I told them that probably not because the PRO-100 was a dye ink printer and this paper required a nice dense type Pigment based Matte Black ink, which any of the EPSON K3 ink set printers would feature.
Well, I deiced to just give it a try and here are the results.
CANON Aquarelle Watercolor 300gsm paper
Standard Top Feeder
Canon PRO-100
Color matching set to NONE in driver.
Paper Type PHOTO MATTE
Quality at STANDARD
Printed on Lightroom CC 2015 through CANON Photo Matte 2-3 profile.
Output PPI at 300 and sharpening set to MATTE on the Lightroom printer Module.
After drying the print I applied two coats of KRYLON Low Odor Glossy protectant spray.
Please let me know what you all think. I am planning on try one of the fine art paper choice and that will cause me to have to feed the paper through the rear feeder and use 35mm bolder which is fine with me.
I will see what difference between the two if any!

Canon Pixma PRO 100 Setup
After picking up my new Canon Pixma PRO-100 from a local seller I decided to fully document the setup, installation and basic printing process using the built in Printing Photoshop Plugin, simply letting the plugin handle color and then using full color management using the correct Canon ICC profile and turning OFF color management in the PRO-100 Driver. Either way the results were amazing. Its hard to find the words actually! I still have a lot to learn about the use of the Printing plugin and it's features. I am also currently testing other ICC profiles for non Canon Papers as well as custom profiles for Canon papers. I am still learning the naming convention of Canon ICC profiles. A second video is in the works covering more advanced aspects such as printing through other applications... -
