Filming Locations: Melrose Place, The Simpsons, Poltergeist, Knots Landing
Location! Location! Location!
...TV and movie locations in the
Los Angeles area, that is. I have my friend Al with me to assist in the excursion.
In this installment, we visit the
Granada Hills cul-de-sace used on the
TV series "
Knots Landing" (1979-93), then do a quick drive-by in
Simi Valley to see the house used in the feature film "
Poltergeist" (
1982). After stopping for lunch at
Astro and
Jans Family Restaurant in
Silverlake, we proceed to
Los Feliz to see the apartment building that doubled as the exterior for "
Melrose Place" (1992-99), then wrap up by visiting the locale in
Sherman Oaks that was used in a
1995 Halloween episode of "
The Simpsons" - in real life it is NOT called
Erotic Cakes.
